Chapter 120 - 115 - Night Camp

They all continued on their way and came across another door like last time. They had followed the tracks that had traveled through the tunnel and came to this place.

Dr. Oobleck: "Hmmm, no sign of those train tracks anywhere. They must be hidden behind one of those doors. See if you can find a way to get them open."

Shallot lifted his handed and blasted it with a ki blast.

Shallot: "This is getting repetitive now. Let's just get this done. I want to go to sleep after finishing this."

The others just nodded their heads seeing that the sun had already gone down and it was night now. They also wanted to get out of the ruins so they can sleep seeing how there were more and more Grimm the longer they stayed.

They walked through the gate seeing that there were no train tracks but decided that they will continue forward. They walked across a mountain pass with some railing that overlooked another part of the forest. They walked through an archway.

There were two Boarbatusk there but were taking care of in a matter of seconds from Blake firing a ki blast. She was also getting drowsy from walking all day and wanted to get her sleep. Some more Grimm started coming out from the ground with a Crepp Grimm in the lead.

Every time one showed up Blake shot one wiping them out before they could do anything. They continued forward seeing another door. This time it was Velvet who blasted the door copying what Shallot did but with more ki than was needed and sent rubble flying everywhere.

Everyone looked at Velvet except Shallot while Velvet's dropped in front of everyone.

Velvet: "Sorry. I didn't know that it would happen like that."

Shallot looked over thinking that Velvet was adorable doing anything. Even making mistakes she is still adorable.

They continued through the pathway walking under another archway that leads to a balcony type of area overlooking the water. They could see a ship in the water that doesn't look as old as the ruins themselves which mean that someone else probably came through this way.

Ruby: "Look, a ship!"

Coco: "That is a ship but what is it doing here? We should be the only teams here."

While they were discussing where the boat could have come from they knew they needed to hurry and set up camp for the night since the moon was pretty high in the sky.

Oobleck: "Team... this discovery is a bit unexpected and is worse than I feared. That appears to be an active Merlot Industries ship. But Dr. Merlot hasn't been heard from or seen in ages... The only clues we have so far are the facilities we have come across and the Grimm. If he is active again and is moving personally then I must inform Ozpin at once. Meanwhile, I want you to investigate that ship in the morning, but please keep a safe distance."

They heard the comms shut off and they decided that each team should rotate for watch duty. They will alternate every three hours so everyone can get 6 hours of sleep.

They all got their bags and pulled some supplies out that were a sleeping bed with some blankets so they could make a cover for themselves. They also had some rations. Shallot was almost empty on his rations and wanted to take the first shift so he could see if he could find something to eat in the wilderness.

He didn't think about the fact that pushing himself further would also make him consume more of his rations but that wasn't a big issue since he could always fly to somewhere else to get something to eat.

The others had gotten their bedrolls down and were ready to sleep when Shallot had stood up getting ready to fly back and grab some food. He might as well fly to the academy and pick some food for everyone else also since it would probably only take about an hour to get back, grab the food, and fly back so it wouldn't take long.

Weiss seeing that Shallot had got up soon after it was their turn for night watch was wondering what he was doing.

Weiss: "What are you doing?"

Shallot: "I'm going to get food. I'll even grab something for everything else while I'm out. I'm also going to take Ruby with me since it will be good practice for her for flying."

Shallot walked over to Ruby pushing her cheek while she was spacing out.

Ruby: "Huh?"

Shallot: "You ok Ruby you were spacing out?"

Ruby: "I was thinking that with all the training we're doing that when the festival fights start in 5 days then there won't be any challenge."

Shallot: "5 Days? I thought it was in 3 more days?"

Ruby: "The festival starts in 3 days but the tournament itself starts in 5 days."

Shallot: 'I really should read the pamphlets they hand us instead of being lazy about it. I was busy with some other things that were more important though so it isn't that much of a problem.'

Shallot: "Besides that Ruby. I want you to come with me flying back to the academy to pick up some food for everyone. I was even thinking about seeing if we could find a place still open that would give us some cookies."

Ruby's mouth was starting to water as soon as she heard Shallot say cookies. Ruby started shaking her head in agreement and was ready to get some cookies since they had only brought MRE's with them since it saved space on things they needed to carry.

Ruby: "Yeah, let's go for the cookies... I mean for the food for everyone."

Shallot: "Alright then let's go."

Shallot tossed his bag near the bedroll he had and started floating waiting for Ruby so they could take off. Ruby dropped her satchel bag she kept with her by Yang and telling her that they were going to get some food for them.

Yang wasn't concerned with something coming and it being an issue even with Shallot and Ruby gone since Blake was still there with them and she was the second strongest after Shallot.

Shallot: 'I should make a GPS program that maps out an area as you go when we go on missions. It would make things smoother when we need to describe things to other teams if they need to go through a previously traveled area.'

Shallot was flying and was a bit ahead of Ruby and could see that Ruby was being affected by the wind around her. Shallot pulled back towards her to give her some tips on flying so she wouldn't have any problems.

Shallot: "While flying you need to make sure that you make a thin ki barrier around your body so that you aren't being pushed by the winds. I feel that you are using your ki to push you in the direction you want but you aren't shielding yourself at the same time."

Ruby tried doing what Shallot said but faltered slightly and started flying trying to use the barrier and also fly at the same time. Shallot fly slightly above Ruby and wrapped his arms around her waist and continued flying.

Shallot: "Try to focus on the barrier for now while we're flying. Then try flying afterward. You have to use both things at the same time without forgetting either."

Shallot and Ruby spent ten minutes like this until Ruby got the hang of it. Shallot was going to let her fly by herself but Ruby held his hands enjoying the alone time they were having.

Ruby: "I want to continue like this until we make it there."

Ruby blushed while also feeling something poke her from behind and she moved against it. Shallot was thinking that they had some time before they get to the city so he might as well enjoy himself.
