Skill: Bonk Discharge (Lightning) - 4 Bonk Bites
Effect: By channeling the Magic Power to the bat, the user can release an electrical bonk discharge to electrocute the opponent.
"Huh, what's going on, Bonkey? What do you mean by electrical bonk?" Albert muttered in confusion. "You're not joking with me, right?"
His head was still hurting because of the knowledge crammed by the system, but he still needed to know, considering he might need to change his plan from now on.
[It's just a normal bonk with Lightning Element.]
'With what?' Albert screamed inwardly, not wanting to disturb Kona on the other side. 'Lightning Bonk?'
[Something like that. You should use it to understand it completely.]
"…" Albert fell silent before shaking his head helplessly. He didn't understand what he was talking about, but he only wanted to know one question. 'Is it stronger than normal bonk?'
[Yes.]
'Well, whatever. I chose this element on a whim too. Considering there were a few other elements, I had some expectation that it would go this way… Whatever, if this is a wrong choice, I will take it as a lesson. If not, then it's good.' Albert sighed.
Since he had received the skill and planned to have another one but without an element, he hurriedly picked up the book that Kona had brought earlier.
He opened the book and flipped through several pages, learning the spells. He learned that there wasn't much difference between elemental and regular spells. And out of all 1-star magic he read, he found one that would help him.
Name: Magic Arrow
Tier: 1-Star
Description: By pouring magic power into the air and concentrating it on one area, the user can create an arrow and shoot the enemy.
[Are you sure about this magic?]
'Yeah. It will be useful for me. This will be a ranged attack that will allow me to distract the enemy before bonking them.' Albert nodded.
He took fifteen minutes to read all the spells, so Kona was already inside the room, waiting for him to finish. Hence, Albert didn't let out a single sound when his brain started feeling pain.
He closed his eyes for a few seconds as if he had fallen asleep until the pain subsided.
Skill: Bonk Arrow - 3 Bonk Bites
Effect: By pouring magic power into the air and concentrating it on one area, the user can create a Bonk Bat and shoot the enemy.
'As expected, this is exactly the same as my prediction.' Albert smiled inwardly, knowing the arrow would turn into Bonk Bat. He had learned from the wolves' subjugation that ranged attack would be useful to fight them.
He could start bonking them from afar. It would be especially effective if he could summon several Bonk Bats, but he needed to be patient, knowing that it wasn't the time to gain the 2-star magic.
Still, it felt bad when he saw the Bonk Gauge.
Bonk Gauge: 7 Bonk Bites.
'I really need to find a way to acquire more Bonk Bites.' Albert thought inwardly while wondering if he should just ask someone to pair up with him. 'No. They will be useful to get Bonk Bites from goblins, but I don't know if I should give away my secret.
'After all, even Alisa was surprised when she heard I had a unique job immediately. This is going to be troublesome… Whatever, I'm just going to enjoy this journey while being careful.' Albert pinched the bridge of his nose while thinking about his next move.
Noticing Albert's frustration, Kona frowned and asked gently, "What's wrong?"
"N-nothing." Albert waved his hand as if it wasn't a big deal and said, "By the way, I have something I would like to ask."
"So polite…" Kona chuckled. "What do you want to ask? Just ask me. I will answer your question to the best of my ability."
"Actually, I want to ask you about this spell. This is…"
Albert continued the conversation, trying to make everything look normal.
By talking about spells, he managed to shift Kona's focus on his curiosity instead of him. After that, he tried it according to her instructions.
As one would expect, Albert failed to produce any result.
In the end, he spent his entire day inside the magic shop while waiting for Alisa to return.
Right before the sunset, Alisa opened the door and laughed.
"Hahaha, I have come back."
"We know that already. Don't laugh and you're too loud," said Kona with a displeased expression.
Alisa flinched, never expecting to find this side of Kona. "Ehm, sorry."
She didn't even know why Kona, who usually didn't bother to correct her, berated her like this. "What's wrong, Kona?"
Kona glanced at her for a few seconds before sighing. She rose from the floor and dragged Alisa outside the room.
She whispered in a low voice and even covered her mouth and Alisa's ear with her hands, preventing Albert from hearing their conversation.
"Albert is a good and earnest guy. Are you truly going to take advantage of his innocence? He's absorbing my teaching at a fast rate, so I can't afford to mess with him." Kona glared at her.
Alisa was bewildered as she recalled what Fila told her about Albert. It seemed Albert always got the heart of those he met like how Aran punished the thugs when Albert hit them.
That was why she thought this was the case.
She fell silent for a minute before whispering, "What do you mean by taking advantage of his innocence? He's a big bad boy. Besides, I am just going to teach him. Hmph. You're the one taking advantage of him by keeping him here."
Kona and Alisa stared at each other while furrowing their eyebrows.
Suddenly, Albert knocked on the door, startling both of them.
"!!!" Kona panicked for a second before opening the door while asking with a wry smile. "Y-yes. Do you need anything from me?"
"Actually, I realized it's going to be dark soon. Since Aran always told me I should be back before dark, I think it's time for me to leave."
Alisa's expression brightened as she said, "Are you done yet? Returning to Lustville will be a challenge, so we can stay in this town for today and return early in the morning."
