Chapter 188 - 177.4

The gloomy girl who was acting scared and stuck close to her supposed older sister was quietly probing each of the people's mentality. As empathy was her gained skill, she could fell the resonating emotions from each of the people present. She could even feel that they were like a repressed shell, it could be attributed that all of the qualifications of the members of the Alliance was having an above average mental strength.

But sadly to say, it meant that the event that was designed was truly targeting them which could e explained that they were fully-prepared.

The situation wasn't unexpected but the gloomy girl was expecting her team to immediately snapped out of it. They would soon snapped out of this deception but that would be too late. They would lose points from this, she heard from the captain that this mini event had around two-hundred points prize if they were successful in it.

Every Intercompetition Lollipop had joined into since her participation as a member of the Alliance was divided into three segments. The team battle, doubles, and intellectual category.

The team battle as it was put, it was about team cooperation and what was interesting in this segment it was a mixed of physical battle and mental battle. For example was the previous Intercompetition, as she had remembered they found themselves in a very big mansion, and the mechanics of the game was to find the five flags while also finding the key. The purpose of the flags were equivalent to points and in order to win the segment, they would need a total of one hundred points.

Each flags had its own color, blue, yellow and red. Blue was equivalent to twenty points and out of the five flags, there were two of it. Yellow for thirty points and also it had two green flags out of the five flags. And lastly, the only red flag was fifty points. If one would simply thought about it, the team would just find the one blue, one yellow and the red flag which was a total of a hundred points but that wasn't it.

The team battle segment wasn't merely played like this. There were two teams would compete and not only they would clash in wits through solving the hints and clues that were put in the mansion to find the flags, they would also clash for those flags. It was okay if one team would manage to find all of the flags, a total of one hundred and fifty points which could greatly give them an advantage than the other teams because those points would be their team points all throughout the Intercompetition.

And as well as the doubles and the intellectual category, they had also points and the team who had gained most points would be determined as the champions. It was so easy to say it but doing was difficult.

As for the doubles and intellectual category, they were purely combat and intelligence respectively. But what was hard about these three segments were they were a surprise for each of the teams. Although the Intercompetition was usually hosted in Diclexia University which was also participating the grand tournament but the coordinators weren't part of each of the schools that participated.

The said coordinators were few trusted people of the Supreme Ruler even though the Magnus himself had his sons or daughters joining this big event, he wasn't like a person who gave favor or leeway even he was his most beloved son. Even the silver haired young man who was supposed to be his perfect heir hadn't known the prepared segments that the coordinators would start.

So it could be considered that all of this coordinators had been fair with giving out events but this mini event was unprecedented. This wasn't part of the Intercompetition but it was still had points that they needed.

Lollipop was also curious why would this kind of event suddenly popped up but she had no time for thinking about it while she begun to concentrate her focus to Chun.

They had no idea that although the Supreme Ruler didn't give unreasonable favors but he liked to pit his child. And the child was none other than Chun, he wanted to see the potential of his heir.

Previously, while Lollipop was probing the mind of the strawberry haired youth who was first candidate on her mind to have a huge mental strength using her ability. Berry had the skills to snapped out of it but his mind was just like him, too lazy dealing with complicated things unless it was a life and death situation, it just shut down and went with the flow. As a Empath who was sėnsɨtɨvė to emotions and feelings, she felt that she hitting soft cotton as her probing came fruitless. Then if she wanted to dig deeper, it would felt like a quagmire swallowing her up. The vast knowledge of the latter's head was so profound that she could able to comprehend if she would go crazy if she had that high intelligence. One reason why Berry likes to sleep. He was lazy to deal with mundane stuff.

And as of the Captain who was stiff as frozen block, her mind was just like her. The moment she inserted a bit of her mental energy, choking revulsion entered her. Like a piece of hard ice, Eliza's mental defense swas rejecting her out. Another failure.

Sighing inwardly, her mental energy landed on the person near Eliza. This kind of feeling was refreshing. The silver haired young man's mind was so vast and 'his' mental energy was just a bit higher than Berry. It was surprising for her but also left her confused. But somehow while she was roaming her ability in Chun's body, she felt a hidden emotion, it seemed locked up which she couldn't able to enter but when she touched it, she somehow sensed a feeling of sadness and excitement. A repressed joy that she felt that the other was waiting for something and the latter would surely obtain it.

'What is it though?' she didn't ponder deeper as she realized that she was welcomed by Chun's mind. It seemed identified her as not harmful while she probed freely which only meant that...

Lollipop collapsed in Notalie's embraced after using too much mental energy. She tried her best...she would hope that Chun would not let her down.

"Lolli? Lolli?!! Are you alright?"

"What's wrong with her?"

"Oh, she's just asleep."

"Don't make noise, my sister is sleeping."

The silver haired young blinked countless of times while she heard the familiar voices and when her blurred vision cleared, she saw her gloved hands with a piece of folded handkerchief. She subconsciously unfurled it and saw a broken piece of a King and clarity washed the haze in her mind.

This glass chess piece was the one that was missing on the chess board at that night.

Chun looked around and found it confusing that the similar yet different lounge room was somehow renovated? Or was she seeing things? Renovations wouldn't happen in just one night.

But while examining what had occured at this time, she knew what was up.

The silver haired young man saw that her teammates were all in their baffled state and they weren't acting on their own right character. Chun somehow wanted to enjoy this kind show.

Eliza who was an expressionless and strong captain was now fallen into a state of a frozen statue. She was still in her blank-expression but she was by the side with unreadable light in her eyes while looking vaguely at the ground. She seemed to be deep in thought.

Even her second brother Feng Zi was ȧssuming a scholarly aura which was a bit off yet at the same time inline with him but still it was too not right for a shameless person to be downgraded like this.

Feng Zi: ehem...

Notalie was acting like a hot-tempered haughty noble princess which a character that she herself didn't like. It would be fun if the short haired girl woke up and realized this. Chun would expect a beat-up coordinator. They truly planned it out well.

Though, Lollipop was just sleeping in the former's arms which seemed to be an alright trait. The gloomy girl wouldn't be embarrassed if she would woke up.

Exhausted Lollipop: What are you playing right now? You ungrateful prick! Hurry up and solve this!

Chun suddenly remembered her purpose. She should not be distracted by this 'wonderful' play although it irresistible not to laugh but she must hold on, their points relied on her.

"What have you thought up? Did you find something?" Berry who was busy roaming around and examining the every object was truly acting like a professional detective in Chun's eyes.

"Did you figured out how the victim died?" Chun asked but her mind was on the clue.

'Kiln. Iceberg. Heart.'

If one who literally think about it, it would be found in any other romance novel that Chun had read. Kiln if ȧssociated with Heart then it meant that a passionate and burning love while Iceberg plus Heart was like male lead who had cold personality and if she would summed up it all, she got a typical romance novel with melodrama.

She should stopped walking on a derailed path. Immediately, Chun erased those inadequate nonsense while she listened to the other.
