Chapter 25 - GROCERY DATE! (1)

Name:Rent A Boyfriend! Author:ForeverPupa
I finished taking a bath and checked the Rent A Boyfriend app. There was a reply from Meng Bao:

*Your Meng Bao: Okay, Ying Jie. I am free for the day.*

Honestly, I didn't have the mood to do another date with him. Since he said that his date with me wasn't memorable, and he didn't even remember my face. I just want to meet him and told him what to do and what not when meeting my parents.

That being said, I also needed to restock my fridge because a certain someone ate everything like a dump truck with no shame, even my favourite whole cake that I saved for myself. That gluttonous woman devoured my fridge.

So, I replied with:

*Shi Ying: Accompany me to the Hypermart in Sanli street. I will meet you there..*

I wore a shirt, jacket, and jeans. I could care less about my makeup since this was not a date. I went outside looking like a tired working woman in her weekend, just shopping for grocery, and then returned to her apartment to watch a sitcom or drama to waste her weekend, which was my activity every single week.

'Damn, to think about it again, my life sounds so bleak and depressing.'

I went used the bus to go to Sanli Street and then waited for Meng Bao to come since he only replied with a simple 'okay'.

I texted Meng Bao to tell him my location:

*Shi Ying: I'm in front of Hypermart.*

Since it took a while for Meng Bao to come, I scrolled on my phone gallery. I grinned when I saw the selfies I took with Meng Bao when he was asleep in the cinema. I took one selfie in which I pushed his nose up so he looked like a pig.

"Hihi, Pig Meng," I giggled joyously. Honestly, spending time with Meng Bao was really enjoyable. Meng Bao was a hopeless romantic. I could tell that easily. The way he blushed over a simple gesture when I pinched his cheek and his determination to chase his childhood sweetheart.

'Ah, that childhood sweetheart of his is a fortunate woman. I also want to have a man who loves me wholeheartedly.' I sighed and got depressed again, remembering how my love life was not as beautiful as a rom-com novel.

'Maybe one day, I can find that special someone for me.'

The cold wind made me shiver, so I rubbed my hands together to keep myself warm. It would be better if my fateful love would come right now and bring me a bowl of warm soup or at least a cup of coffee.

"Ying Jie!"

I turned my head towards the source of the voice. My eyes darted on an extremely handsome man who came wearing a pink sweater with a bright smile on his face. Everyone, especially all women around, looked at him and was stunned by Meng Bao's handsomeness. He was an Asian-Caucasian with a perfectly sculpted model-like face. His long leg and broad shoulder were also pleasing to the eyes, which attracted so much attention.

His pink sweater didn't help either. It gave him such a sophisticated aura that charmed all women… and some men around them.

He brought two cups of coffee with him, and he strode right to me without hesitation, despite all the stares from other people.

He didn't seem to be bothered, but I got embarrassed instead.

"Aish, why are you wearing pink!" I chided, but he didn't seem to bother with my chiding and replied;

"Because you seem to be in a bad mood, Jie. Based on research, wearing bright colour will cheer up your day. Take this as my rental boyfriend service."

"What research is that?"

"… Baidu research," Meng Bao replied. "...And google research also."

"Aren't you embarrassed by the stares?" I asked. As someone who was mostly invisible, someone like Meng Bao with his confidence astonished me.

"Why should I? I am a very handsome man. I can wear anything and still look good. So it doesn't bother me at all!" Meng Bao exclaimed shamelessly. "Also, I uh… well… this is for you, Ying Jie."

Meng Bao gave me one cup of coffee, "The weather is quite cold today. I'm sorry to keep you waiting."

"Is this also part of your rental boyfriend service?" I asked while accepting the hot coffee.

"N—Not really, uhm… I just don't want you to be in a bad mood because I said some unnecessary thing. Uhm… honestly, I enjoyed our date yesterday," Meng Bao's voice lowered on the last sentence.

"This is unexpected," I raised my brow. I grinned and teased him more, "Meng Bao, did you actually plan on wearing pink and buying me coffee because you want my apology?"

"W—What if it is? You don't like it? D—Don't misunderstand. I'm doing this because this is part of rental boyfriend service!" Meng Bao said. He looked nervous. Maybe Meng Bao thought that I didn't appreciate his effort.

I giggled and pinched his cheek lightly, "Very considerate. Because Meng Bao is so cute, I will accept your apology. Let's go in."

"We are going to go on a date in a supermarket?" Meng Bao asked. He was unsure whether this was part of his punishment or not. Because he would never think of having a date in a supermarket.

What would they do there anyway? Taking selfies in each aisle?

I frowned while taking one trolley with me, "What date? We are grocery shopping here."
