'Fuuuuuuck…' I cursed in my heart as I looked up to Meng Bao's eyes. His gaze was both pleading and demanding to me. He was really dead set on knowing my real identity. I gulped and shook my head. With my lower pitch voice, I replied, "Sir, there is no use of revealing my face. I'm just a regular woman working here."

"That's what a certain woman said to me once, saying that she's just a regular woman with nothing special about her, not even her face," Meng Bao said. "But that's just a lie. What I saw is a wonderful woman full of energy and warmth."

'Who is he talking about? His girlfriend or boyfriend?' I wondered. 'I doubt he's talking about me.. That's just a regular line that men said to get their women's attention. It's better not to take a risk!'

"Trust me, Sir. I'm just a regular woman…" I replied. 

Meng Bao stared at me full of suspicion. It made me felt like he already knew my identity for some reason, but if he already knew that I'm Ying Jie, how come he doesn't kick me out immediately? I'm the one who insulted him many times, even have the audacity to block his number.'

"Really? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so let me inspect closer," Meng Bao said. 

Meng Bao leaned closer until our eyes were only an inch away. I retreated a bit to give a space between us. I have to say, his facial feature was too handsome up close. He even had flawless skin, without any pimple or whatsoever. 

'Damn it, and I'm here have to fight with acne!' I yelled in my heart as I got distracted a bit by Meng Bao's handsomeness. 

Meng Bao blinked few times. His long lashes wavered as he continued staring at my eyes, deep penetrating into my soul, "Secretary Shi, I knew someone who acts just like you. She is someone that could make my heart flutter and made me act like an idiot. Even stranger, I'd so gladly be a cute idiot for her. As long as I can get her attention."

Alex interrupted as he got amused by Meng Bao's words just now, "Oh? So our cute Xiao Meng finally got himself a girlfriend? That's surprising, really."

Meng Bao ignored his Alex-Ge, still staring at me. But I was the one who got curious instead. Maybe with Alex, I could know more about this girlfriend that Meng Bao had. The lucky girl.

"Mr. Priest, do you know about Mr. Yang's girlfriend?" I asked Alex. Alex raised his left brow and had a small smirk on his face. 

"Why are you asking about Xiao Meng's girlfriend? When there is someone like me right in front of you? You can ask about me instead. I have a lot to tell," Alex replied.

'Yeah, no thanks, I know with only one glance that you collect women like you collect Pokemon card,' I thought as I rolled my eyes.

Alex laughed at my reaction. Thus he nodded lightly, "Yeah, Xiao Meng is obviously a very handsome specimen, just like me. I have to admit. He is the son of Madam Evelynn Yang, the famous editor-in-chief of VAGUE magazine, and I've known him since we were just a child!"

"Well, Xiao Meng has a big crush on girl back then. He would ramble on and on about this girl he loved so much and even planned to marry her. But well, it was just a childhood sweetheart, a crush from the past. Xiao Meng has moved on, right?" Alex asked Meng Bao.

Meng Bao was still staring at my eyes, and he mysteriously grinned, "I'm not sure if I have completely moved on from my childhood sweetheart."

"But I've seen someone that has the same quality as her… or maybe even better than her. That feeling is like a sudden storm that swept everything that I've kept for years in my heart, though strangely, I'm not mad at her for causing such storm in my heart."

"In fact, I quite like it and willing to explore more about this feeling I have for her," Meng Bao said. He continued in English, "Maybe it is a serendipity."

'Serendipity…' was the first time I heard that word, even though I'm quite well-versed in English. I have to use translate for that later. 

Alex laughed and patted Meng Bao's back, "Ah, my little brother is now all grown up. I don't know who is this lucky girl, but I bet she's a beautiful fairy, is it not?" Alex asked. "Xiao Meng has always been surrounded by the ladies from the modelling and entertainment circle because of his status and his face. But he kept on insisting on marrying this childhood sweetheart of his! Glad that he has moved on now!"

"Tell me, is it someone from your mother's circle?" Alex asked.

"No, she is just a regular woman working a nine to five job, apparently. She said that she has the appearance of an average woman. She even said that she's fat. But in my eyes, she is gorgeous… and sexy," Meng Bao answered while staring at me. It made me felt weird.

'Aiya, come on, Meng Bao. Don't stare at me like that! What if I caught feeling for you again? Don't give hope for your old Jie ah! Your Jie is just an average woman who wants to earn money!' 

I turned my head away, and Alex responded to Meng Bao's statement just now, "Oh? So you are actually in love with an average woman? Not to someone like Li Daiyu? She has been chasing you for years."

"Fuck that witch," Meng Bao said coldly. His gaze cooled when Alex mentioned Li Daiyu.

Alex chuckled amusedly, "Fine, fine. Well, I won't judge your taste. Just don't steal Secretary Shi from me, okay? I've said to you before that I like her because she's my type." Alex said blatantly right in front of me.
