[Yang Menghuo POV]
Yang Menghuo stretched his body as he yawned after a good night's sleep. He scratched his body as he looked at the ceiling.
'Huh… why is my room's ceiling so low?' He pondered. He looked down and saw a blanket covering his body.
'Why do I have a Donald Duck's blanket? When did I buy it?' He pondered again.
He turned his head to the left and found that he was sleeping in front of the television, on the couch. Huang Shu's eyes widened as he got up and looked around, half dazed and half surprised.
'Did I just sleep in Ying Jie's apartment?!'
He checked his clothes and sighed in relief after he realized that he was still fully clothed. Because it would be a big waste if he actually did it with Ying Jie while he was completely unconscious out of exhaustion..
Yang Menghuo looked around and see there was no trace of Ying Jie, and when he saw the clock, he realized that Ying Jie must've gone to work.
Yang Menghuo walked to the kitchen and then drank a glass of water. He sat at the dinner table, slowly trying to process what was happening last night and what happened currently.
"Did I just sleep in Ying Jie's apartment?" Yang Menghuo repeated the question vocally this time. It was just too surprising for him because he thought Ying Jie would never give him permission to stay in her apartment for a long time.
And now, he could suddenly eat and sleep here even without Ying Jie around.
He checked his phone and then saw a text from Ying Jie.
*Ying Jie: There is a box of fried rice in the freezer for your breakfast. But I doubt you'd wake up early, so I put it there. You can heat it with the microwave.*
Then another text got came to his phone just now.
*Ying Jie: Don't forget to take out the trash in the kitchen. It will smell bad if you forgot. Oh, if you want to leave, don't forget to put the key under the welcome mat, as always.*
Yang Menghuo stared at the text. He still couldn't believe that Ying Jie wouldn't send such text to him, acting as if they were actually closer.
Well, of course, he was so grateful that Ying Jie finally trusted him. But it came as a surprise, so he didn't know how to react.
"Am I still dreaming?" Yang Menghuo pinched his arm, and he could feel the pain. He shook his head twice to convince himself. After the realization that he wasn't dreaming right now, his cheeks reddened.
"So Ying Jie really trusted me… She even allowed me to stay and sleep in her apartment…."
Yang Menghuo opened the fridge and saw fried rice with egg in a plastic container. He took it and then put it on a plate.
Then he put it in the microwave for five minutes.
He took out the trash and then walked out to the end of the corridor, where the trashes were all collected into one.
He returned to Ying Jie's room and started eating his 'breakfast,' Although it was already ten o'clock.
Yang Menghuo then instinctively cleaned the room because Ying Jie was too busy to clean it in the morning.
Yang Menghuo rolled up his shirt and then picked the broom, "Alright, since Ying Jie has to work today, then I guess I can be the good House-Husband."
He wasn't exactly the professional dust sweeper or window wiper. But he tried his best to clean Ying Jie's apartment.
He could just call some day housekeeper service, but he wouldn't allow someone to enter Ying Jie's apartment. This was their love nest… well, soon-to-be love nest.
'Or maybe I should just buy the whole building and kick all the tenants away, so it will truly be our love nest in the future….'
…
'Okay, that is too extreme. It will be a haunted building in no time,' Yang Menghuo reconsidered.
'Maybe I should just buy a mansion somewhere… maybe in the Maldives, so it can be our love nest for the honeymoon….'
…
Yang Menghuo's cheek reddened, but it was because he didn't know how to handle this overflowing feeling in his heart.
Whenever he was thinking about Ying Jie, it kept reminding him about a promise he made with Batman-Jie.
That he would marry his beloved Jie after he returned to China. Since he was forced to leave the village and follow his parents to another country after his grandmother's death.
Batman-Jie said that she would wait until Menghuo returned back to propose to her.
Although Ying Jie and Batman-Jie were completely different people, Yang Menghuo felt that he could fulfill his promise by marrying Ying Jie instead.
His heart wouldn't lie that he was attracted to Ying Jie like a magnet.
'Marrying Ying Jie… it feels like I will fulfill a promise from fifteen years ago….'
'But Batman-Jie…'
Yang Menghuo sighed whenever he remembered about Batman-Jie. Because he still had no clue about her. Even after he pressed his subordinates to intensify the search, they still couldn't find her.
As if Batman-Jie had truly disappeared from the earth.
'If I really can't find Batman-Jie, does that mean I'm allowed to move on from her? She is the one who shaped my childhood, but if I can't find her… then maybe she doesn't want me to find her. Maybe she purposely hiding from me….'
Yang Menghuo kept thinking about the possibility that Batman-Jie might've got married to someone else and probably had children already.
Since she was a village girl, it would be natural for her to marry early.
Yang Menghuo sighed even more. He decided to put this problem aside and focused on Ying Jie. Because this bond for Ying Jie was so strong As if they were meant to be together in the first place.
"Ying Jie… or Batman Jie…" Yang Menghuo pondered again and again.

[Shi Ying POV]
I was busy typing some documents for Mr. Yang from morning up until now. I didn't know what happened in my apartment because I had been too occupied with work this morning.
'Aish, I also have to find a train ticket for two….'
'I also have to buy the medicine for Dad….'
I kept getting distracted because I would need to prepare for everything because tomorrow would be the doomsday.
The day where I had to return to my village. The hometown that I loved and hated at the same time because of the backbreaking long trip. From train to bus, and then I still had to walk after the bus stop.
Well, I could ask Meili or Yanyue to carry the luggage with the motorbike later, I guess.
Besides, I still needed to make sure that Meng Bao would be a good enough actor in front of my parents. Because he was just way too handsome for a leftover woman standard.
'Ah, what is he doing in my apartment right now? I bet is he is still sleeping… or maybe he is exploring my apartment? Good thing I locked my room full of BL collection, hehe.'
I checked the clock and realized that it was already noon. Thus, I called the office boy to buy me food from the cafeteria because I was still busy with the document.
"Oh? Are you busy with whatever Uncle Yang gave you?" Alex popped out from his office and walked towards me. He leaned against the wall and peeked at my work.
"Yeah, I'm still busy. Manager Priest, you can just eat alone, don't mind me."
"Tsk, tsk, how could I eat alone while you're here working hard?" Alex sat beside me and did nothing.
"You're going to sit here and did nothing like a flowerpot decoration?"
"Well, I mean, at least I support you with morals. You can do it, Ying Jie!" Alex said.
I rolled my eyes and typed faster, not because his encouragement helped, but it was so annoying that I had to type and finish it faster.
…
I finished everything after one hour, half faster than what I expected due to Alex's constant annoying encouragement. Then I went to Mr. Yang's office and gave the document that I had just printed.
"Mr. Yang, this is the document."
"Hm…" Mr. Yang nodded while he was busy with his phone.
I bowed my head and then walked to the door, but Mr. Yang suddenly stopped me, "Wait, Secretary Shi."
"Yes, Mr. Yang?" I turned my body, waiting for another order from my boss.
Mr. Yang Zhuhuo hummed longer, then he got up. He checked his phone again and then peered at me with a suspicious gaze.
He frowned, shaking his head few times as if he had just witnessed something out of this world. A miracle that only happened once in a blue moon.
"Hmm… Secretary Shi, why does this woman who went on a date with my son… looks like you?"
