Chapter 117 - MEETING THE FUTURE IN LAW! (1)

[Yang Menghuo POV]

"Well, it's because of my poor living condition, of course," Shi Ying said. "After my uncle sold all of my grandpa's assets, including his lands and cattle, he ran away, leaving us with mountains of debt. My dad doesn't have enough money to buy a good land near the main road, so we have to buy cheap land as long as it's wide enough."

"That's why we lived in the depth of the jungle, and they called me Tarzan Girl ah, ahahaha!" Shi Ying replied happily. She didn't seem to have any insecurity nor shame about her identity. 

"Jie…" Menghuo wanted to pity his beloved Jie, but somehow, she felt that Ying Jie didn't need his pity. She was a strong woman who worked hard and could provide for herself and her family. 

Just like Batman Jie, Menghuo had a strong preference for a woman that could stand by her own, though, of course, he wouldn't let anyone hurt her Jie.

But seeing her Jie standing strong despite being a woman had melted his cold heart. 

Yang Menghuo held his Jie's arm while following her from behind. Ying Jie laughed heartily at him, "Meng Bao, are you scared of the jungle? Don't worry ah, your Jie will protect you! If it's just snake or wild boar, I can handle it!"

Yang Menghuo grinned and nodded, "I'll follow Jie."

He wouldn't lie that he had split his love for two women, Batman Jie and Ying Jie. People might call him a player, but he just simply couldn't choose between them.

They paced through the stone pathway and saw the end when the light acted like guidance through the thick forest.

Honestly, Yang Menghuo had zero expectations of what he would see next, but he thought Ying Jie's family only had a small farm in the middle of the jungle.

Who would've expected, when they finally get out of the jungle, Yang Menghuo saw a wide space with a view directly facing a mountain. There were plenty of castles and other livestock as well.

Shi Ying saw his dad was riding a cow while watching over the cows with a dog running around. 

"DAD!!" Shi Ying dropped her suitcase and ran towards her dad. Mr. Shi, her dad, darted his eyes towards Shi Ying's direction and yelled, "Shi Ying!" 

He jumped from the cow and rushed to hug his first daughter, "Why didn't you tell me that you're already in the village? I can use my cart to pick you!"

"Hehe, I just want to surprise you, dad," Shi Ying giggled. 

"I see. Ah, my daughter, you got thinner nowadays. Did you not eat well? I'll tell your mother to cook delicious food for you today!" Mr. Shi said. Then he peered at Shi Ying. "Okay, now that you're here, I want to ask you about my future son-in-law. Don't you try to dodge it again, Shi Ying?"

Shi Ying grinned happily and then pointed at Meng Bao, who was still stunned by the large farm Ying Jie's family had. 

Of course, compared to Menghuo's farm in Switzerland, this was nothing. But he really thought that Ying Jie was living in complete poverty.

"There you are. That handsome guy is my boyfriend and future husband!" Shi Ying said.

Mr. Shi saw the man that Shi Ying was pointing at, an extremely handsome man standing with his eyes full of bewilderment, looking around the farm. 

He was tall, with black hair and blue eyes. He had a broad shoulder, and based on his facial feature, he was probably mixed. 

Mr. Shi was staring at Yang Menghuo for a moment before he turned around and screamed, "WIFE! CALL THE POLICE! SHI YING HAS KIDNAPPED A RICH YOUNG MASTER FROM THE CITY! WE CAN'T AFFORD OFFENDING HIS FAMILY!"

"W—What?!" Shi Ying's jaw dropped instantly. She didn't expect such a response from her parents. "Dad, that's my boyfriend!" 

"What boyfriend ah! He is literally a Young Master from the city! Shi Ying, how did you kidnap that man!? Return him back to his family ah!" 

"Aish, dad! Why don't you believe me!" Shi Ying looked at Meng Bao and yelled, "Bao! Come here!" 

"A-Ah, yes, Jie!" 

Yang Menghuo rushed to Mr. Shi and then bowed his head, "Mr. Shi, my name is Yang Menghuo. I'm Ying Jie—I mean, Shi Ying's boyfriend."

Mr. Shi immediately patted Menghuo's shoulder and gripped it tightly, "Young man, did my daughter forced you? Did she kidnap you while you're on the train? Don't be scared. I will help you escape. Just tell me where you live, and we will send you back."

"I will also try to hold my daughter while you run away, okay?"

"DAD! HE IS MY BOYFRIEND!" Shi Ying yelled as loud as she could. Her father really didn't believe that she could score someone like Meng Bao. 

"How am I suppose to believe ah? You're twenty seven, unmarried, we're from the village! I thought you'd bring a normal guy around your age or slightly older, at least!"

Yang Menghuo realized the fight between father and daughter could be serious. Thus he replied, "I—It's the truth, sir. I am Shi Ying's boyfriend and soon-to-be husband."

"What?!" 

"See, I told you, he is my boyfriend!" Shi Ying claimed proudly. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Shi was still stunned by the confirmation from Yang Menghuo. Of course, he loved his daughter, but he just couldn't believe Shi Ying could bring this kind of man to the village and marry in the future.

"Y—You're my daughter's boyfriend? Young man, I think you still have a better future—"

"DAD!" Shi Ying yelled again. 

Yang Menghuo chuckled and nodded earnestly, "Yes, Mr. Shi. Shi Ying and I have been dating for a while now. I've also discussed our wedding."

"I—I see… then, what is your name, Young man," Mr. Shi asked. 

"My name is Yang Menghuo, Sir," Menghuo replied. 

"Yang Menghuo… hm… old are you?"

"I'm twenty five years old."

"Okay, Shi Ying, did you pay this guy to be your fake boyfriend or something?" Mr. Shi asked. 

"Wha—Of course not! Do you think I have enough money to hire him as a boyfriend? He already looks handsome and rich. I don't think he needs my money!"

"Mr. Shi, please believe that I am Shi Ying's boyfriend. I met her and have been in love with her since our first day. I am the one who asked her to be my girlfriend and…." Yang Menghuo stared at Shi Ying with his hot gaze, and a sincere smile bloomed on his lips, "And I've been in love with her ever since…."

Mr. Shi cleared his throat, "Okay then, I believe you for now. Let's just go inside first, and you can change your clothes."

Mr. Shi jumped to his cow again and led the way back to his house while Shi Ying and Yang Menghuo grabbed their suitcases and bags. 

Yang Menghuo stared at the old man who kept massaging his back, then he asked Ying Jie, "Jie… am I not presentable enough? Why's your dad not believing our relationship?"

"Isn't that obvious? I already told you before that you're not believable to be my boyfriend! He will think that I've hired you or kidnapped you, so you're not my genuine boyfriend!" Shi Ying replied. 

"But my love for you is genuine, Jie…." Yang Menghuo said. 

"… okay, okay, I believe that," Shi Ying sighed. "For now, all you need to do is act naturally."

"What do you mean acting natural?" Menghuo asked. "As in… go with the flow? Be one with nature?"

"What the—no! Do you think this is a farming novel? What I mean is… you should just be yourself in front of my parents. As long as you're obedient and treat them good, they will treat you good as well."

"My parents are good people, but they can be blunt sometimes," Shi Ying warned. 

"Okay, Jie, I understand."

They arrived at a simple but wide house, and when they entered, Mrs. Shi was busy preparing for lunch. 

"Wife, our daughter is back!" Mr. Shi said. And Mrs. Shi cheered up as she heard that. She hurried to greet her daughter at the door.

"Welcome back, Shi Ying! You're finally here. Mom missed you a lot!" Mrs. Shi said. She hugged Shi Ying and kissed her cheeks, then continued with the same question "So, did you bring our future son-in-law?"

"Yes, mom," Shi Ying nodded. Then she pointed at her back. 

Yang Menghuo smiled politely at Mrs. Shi and bowed his head, "Good afternoon, Madam. My name is Yang Menghuo. I'm Shi Ying's boyfriend and future husband."

Mrs. Shi was astonished when she saw Yang Menghuo. She paused for a long time. Then, she suddenly gripped Shi Ying's hand and yelled, "SHI YING, WHY DID YOU BRING A YOUNG MASTER HERE?! WHERE DID YOU KIDNAP HIM? DID YOU THREATEN HIM WITH A KNIFE?!"

"OH BUDDHA, H—HUSBAND, CALL THE POLICE NOW, OR WE WILL BE IN TROUBLE!"
