"I can't sleep." I said whining. It has been a few hours after I have woken up and it was night time.
"But the doctor said you need to rest to recuperate." Troy said worriedly.
"I have been asleep for 2 days now. Isn't that enough? You can't just force me to sleep if I'm not sleepy." I pout my lips annoyed at Troy.
Troy sighed.
"Hahaha." Andrea was laughing when she entered. "It looks like the pregnancy mood swings are on." She was holding a tray of fruits.
Father was right behind Andrea and he was holding a large teddy bear.
"Andrea, daddy." I was all smiles.
"My baby girl. I heard the news and came here as soon as I can." Father said.
Troy made way so father can be by my side.
"Congratulations my baby girl. You're now going to be a mother." Father hugged me. He gave me the huge teddy bear and I hugged it. I love fluffy things, father remembered that.
"Thanks daddy. And your going to be a grandpa." I smiled at him.
"Grandpa. That sounds nice. Hahaha." Father gave a hearty laugh. He looks at Troy. "Congratulations son. So now that there is a little one on the way I suppose you're planning the wedding date earlier?"
"Yes sir, I'm planning the date by the end of January. While Queenie isn't still showing." Troy answered.
"Good, good. I'll be at ease after you have married. I am sure that my baby girl will be in good hands." Father exclaimed.
"Thanks sir." Troy slightly bowed.
"Call me father. You are the man that my daughter selected and the father of my grandchild. You are technically my son now. Hahaha." You can feel the happiness on father's laughter. "Don't forget to officially ask for my daughter's hand. After this I will expect you to visit me at my house."
"Thank you father. I will surely ask for your daughter's hand officially." Troy smiled.
"Well anyways. Can I speak to my daughter privately. We need to discuss something important." Father said.
Andrea and Troy nodded. Troy kissed my forehead. I can feel the love he was giving me with that kiss that it made my heart feel so full.
When they left father's face became serious.
"Is this about Victoria daddy?" I asked.
"Yes." My father sighed. "I can never forgive her for what she has done. I was sure to put her to jail after the proceedings and investigations."
"Was?" I asked curious why it was in past tense.
My father sighed again. "Victoria died in her sleep yesterday evening."
I was shocked. "But I was sure that I didn't hit any vital organs." I am very proud of my shooting skills.
"I never knew that my baby girl is a good shooter haha." Father joked. "Yes it's true you didn't hit any vital organs. The doctor also said she was recuperating good. We don't know what happened."
"Yesterday night the machine registered a flat line so the doctors and nurses rushed inside. They tried to revive her but to no avail."
"How can that be?" I was full of questions. With Victoria's death all the unanswered questions will follow her to her grave. And her backer, I feel that this person is more dangerous than Victoria and Julia combined.
"I am also curious with her sudden death so I told them to make an autopsy. But the results were negative to toxicity. The cause of death was cardiac arrest." Father explained.
"Daddy, Victoria told me something when I was kidnapped." I said. "She said Julia isn't really your biological child. That my mother's death was all planned. And all the bad things that happened to us was all planned by someone. Victoria was just a pawn to this persons schemes."
Father was frozen in place. He was processing all the information that I just said. And he sighed.
"I have been suspecting that someone was backing Victoria in the sidelines. But this person is clever. I have made investigations on what happened to your mother. But this person knows how to cover his foot prints. I can't find any evidence."
"But this is my first time hearing that Julia isn't really my biological daughter. I have never thought of that. Victoria was really clever in covering this with that persons help." Father said.
"You believe me daddy?" I asked. I was surprised that father has believed all that I have said.
"Of course baby girl. Why won't I believe you?" Father smiled at me. "But Julia won't believe us without evidence. We need to make a DNA test in secret so that we can have concrete evidence."
"Thanks daddy, for believing me." I hugged him.
When we released each other his face became serious.
"This person backing Victoria is dangerous. We need to be extra careful until we catch this person." Father said.
"I understand father." I answered.
