Chapter 89: Full of Joy

During the period after we just got married, he would cling to me with a lustful expression on his face. He let me suffer during my separation from him. When I lay in bed, I was frozen and empty.

It was fortunate that he had not laid down beside me, I may have hurt him.

"Therefore, to pay me back," he put another piece of desert into my mouth and said, "You should eat more."

When I was about to pick a piece for him, the phone rang. My instant thought was to cut off the phone line because countless people knew my hotel phone number. Irene, such smart woman, would not call. Jonathan was right beside me and he saw that I had no intention of picking up. So, he stood up to walk towards the phone.

Ignoring the pain in my ankle, I rushed to answer it before he did. I prayed secretly that it was the hotel's front desk or the wrong number, but there was a very gentle man's voice on the phone.

"Excuse me, is this Desiree Li?"

"Yes," I said.

"How about doing a recording today?" he asked.

"That's ok," I said as I glanced at Jonathan, who stared at me.

"When would you be able to come back?" he asked.

It was asked at the wrong time and I had almost totally forgotten. I tried to be calm and casual, and said, "I have not decided yet, talk about it later."

"Yesterday, I happened to meet your professor. He wanted to let you enter a competition recently," the man said.

"I know, I called him today," I lowered my voice, and my palms were wet.

When Steven came into the picture, things couldn't be explained clearly.

"I called you many times. Are you too busy? Be careful…" he had not finished speaking yet, but I was overwhelmed by a strong power. After I recovered, Jonathan grabbed the phone from me.

He held the phone, listening to the voice. He cut off the phone line and threw the phone away.

"There is nothing between us," I told him. He tore my coat off me, lifting me in the air. Once he stepped into the room, he threw me onto the bed. Not until I recovered from the dizziness, did he pull my jeans to the ground.

"Listen!" I said. I was about to discuss it again, a matter of trust and suspicion which had caused contradiction several times. He pressed on me brutally, holding my wrists with his broad palms.

"Jonathan..." I took a breath, intending to explain when he drowned out my voice with his burning lips. I was out of breath and became numb and weak when he grabbed me. I went blank and said nothing, but just responded to his hot kisses.

At that moment, he lost his patience, took off his clothes and kneeled in front of me. After we made love, I blinked and said, "Jonathan, I love you..."

Pale, red light from the lamp shone as the white yarn curtain was lifted by the wind, exposing the amorous scene in the room. The glass of the French window reflected our bodies as we embraced each other tightly to fill the gap between us.

I rubbed my cheek softly against his chest, my fingers moving along his smooth back.

"Jonathan... I admit I am a bad woman, but everything I have done is to please you. All my goodness was disguised, and I deceived you. But there's one thing I didn't lie to you about: the person I love is you. Even if you don't believe me, I ..."

"I believe you!" he said.

"Do you?" I almost thought it was an illusion, then I asked him with a trembling voice, "Why do you believe me?"

"You can't pretend to hate someone. Desiree, you are not evil, but just innocent!" said Jonathan.

Yes, I was innocent. I loved him, and my true dream was to stay with him, but I never confronted the matter.

I smiled and slid my finger across his soft lips: "You are not silly, why did you only realize that now?" he asked.

He raised his eyebrows and held my jaw, "Let's talk about this matter tomorrow," he said.

He kissed me to contain my slightly trembling lips, I was full of joy.

A gentle kiss, full of tender affection, was like kissing my heart.
