Chapter 93: Forgiveness

I also thought that the press should be shut off because the report was too irresponsible!

Jonathan held me, and we walked to the other side of the barrier. When I looked around, the scene showed an illusion that three people were taking a bath together.

When he suddenly loosened his hands, I lost balance, let go, and fell into the warm water.

"Ah!" I struggled to sit up, rubbing my wet hair, and glared at him with my teeth clenched.

He crouched down in front of me with a smile rippling from every corner of his face. Even laughter came from his throat, showing his inner happiness that couldn't be hidden.

He took off his clothes, piece by piece, then jumped down to undo my clothes

He whispered in my ear, "I like you crying, showing your fear and helplessness… Do you know that? When I adopted you, you were always crying and having nightmares, calling your father and mother. You always seized my arms, crying, 'I am so scared, don't leave me alone… But when you are sane, you are speechless and tough. Every time I see you stare at the starry night, I wonder what exactly it is that you want."

"You have given me what I want," I said and threw myself into his arms in the warm water. All I wanted was warmth, security, and love, which he had offered me.

"If you really want me…"

I pointed my forefinger to his lips to stop his next words, "Jonathan, I want your love now "

Troy interrupted my affectionate confession and said, "Can't you consider my feelings? How disgusting!"

Jonathan held me, kissing my shoulders gently and said to Troy, "It is to nauseate you."

"I know that she loves you so much!" Troy added helplessly.

After a while, Troy asked, "Oh, how about your immigration?"

"It seemed to be too complicated for my complex background. My stepfather racked his brains to figure it out and said, "I am involved with many cases which we are investigating. It's impossible to emigrate!"

I was shocked, "Do you intend to an immigrant?"

"Yes, I have planned to share a peaceful life with you in Australia. But it seems impossible."

A thought came to Troy's mind. He said: "You can use fake identification. I have some trustworthy friends who can make a counterfeit passport for you."

"It is easy to immigrate illegally, except for the fear that police will not stop tracking you. What's more, if I shift a huge amount of money, it will disturb them," he said.

"Any other good ideas?" I asked.

"No!" he sighed, "It seems that the police won't let me live in peace until I die!"

"There is always away!" I said.

"Forget it!" Jonathan held my waist with his hands, and he shifted his eyesight to my face, finally fixed on my lips. "It doesn't matter whether I can emigrate to Australia or not. It is heaven when my wife is near me, that's all I need," he said.

He held my face and kissed me gently. I held his arms to respond to him carefully, rubbing his smooth chest with my burning body.

Then Jonathan stopped kissing and said in a deep voice, "Troy! Haven't you finished your bath?"

"I quit! Enjoy your time!" said Troy.

Hearing the door close, I immediately pounced into his chest to kiss him passionately. He lifted me and let me sit on his legs with his lips on my chest. Our waving bodies were indulged in the floating water. The petals in the pond were shattered.

That night he carried me home, it was the same as I remembered it: the mirror-like ground, white leather sofa and crystal table with the ashtray on it. But it gave me a new feeling, when I touched the furniture, the memories from the past flashed through my mind.

A scene flashed through my mind. Steven and I stood there, when I said, "See you tomorrow." Jonathan crumpled the newspaper in his hands.

Fate liked playing tricks on us: when knowing the beloved person's monstrous lie, we still forced ourselves to believe it.

I went up the stairs and stood outside my room. When I raised my hand, he stopped me and said, "It is empty, don't look."

"I'd like to see it," I told him.

Opening the door, inside the empty room was nothing, but a bed covered with a light grey quilt. The bright moonlight shone across the bare window, reflecting right onto the opposite wall, where there hung a picture, as large as me.

A bride in a white wedding dress stood in the snow with a transparent umbrella, her eyes were purer than the white snow.

"What the hell have I done!" I sat down on my knees with my face in my hands and cried, "Sorry! Sorry!"

I couldn't imagine his feeling when he woke up on the bed, looking at the picture.

If I were him, I would rather die…

He squatted down beside me and touched my hair. "Desiree, I'm satisfied that you can put aside the hatred and come back…"

We clasped our fingers in the moonlight-wrapped room.

"We will never be apart again…" I thought.

The next day, I proposed the termination of my contract with the Entertainment Company. During the negotiation, Jonathan said nothing, sitting by my side, and Shawn responded calmly, "I agree with your termination. And you needn't pay any penalty, which is the compensation for the damage to your reputation. I will make a press announcement tomorrow to clarify our relationship and tell them the picture is generated."

After he signed it and put down his pen, he said to Jonathan, "She told me that she had a husband. But I thought he had passed away. Because I didn't believe that a man would abandon such an affectionate woman! Mr. Li, I have no idea about your stories, but I just want to tell you that I have never seen a woman speaking to a phone where there is nobody on the other side, and saying things like, "You don't allow me to see you, can't I just hear your voice…I would be satisfied just to tell you that I'm fine, even if you have forgotten me."

He rose courteously and held out his right hand. "Mr. Li, when you appreciate the music played by her bleeding fingers and listen to her Butterfly with a smile… you will know how deeply she loves you."

Jonathan kept silent, but stood up to reach out to his right hand… However, he hadn't loosened his left hand holding mine tightly…

Since that day, our late honeymoon officially began. I was unable to walk due to my injured ankle, then he pushed me in the wheelchair.

We went to the furniture store and redecorated my room.

"This toy is so cute, buy it to put on the cupboard," I picked up a cute kitty cat.

"This is a lamp. Don't you see a wire?" he added, "If you like, you can put it by your bedside."

"Don't blab. Where is the bulb? It must be an electric toy. Maybe it can sing," I said.

"You can't see the bulb inside," he added.

As we argued and pinched the toy, the shop assistant could not bear it. 'I'm sorry, Sir, it is a stereo! The toys and the lights are over there."

We were speechless.

I put it back.

"We want the stereo, too." He thought about it and asked," Is there a CD player to match this stereo?"

The salesman was speechless!

He took the lovely stereo and put it in my arms. "Wife, you are right, it can sing!" Jonathan said.

We went to the furniture store, then to the children's shop. I said the girl's skirts were beautiful, while he preferred the boy's clothes. The assistant asked us about the age of our child. We looked at each other blankly.

He said, "We want both!"

We had sauntered into the shopping mall for half of the day, but we bought very little. When I turned around unconsciously, I noticed the piles of goods in the hands of bodyguards wearing black suits, they looked funny. A cool bodyguard held two bags of toilet paper, which were covered with pink designs.

Why did we buy toilet paper? After thinking it over, I remembered that he pointed to a bracelet and asked me, "Do you like that unique bracelet?"

I told him seriously, "Jewelry is for lovers."

"Then don't you think I should get it for you?" he asked.

"What about toilet paper?" I said.

"Creative..." he replied.

He was about to push me away when I said, "Wait, this bracelet is so beautiful!"

After shopping, it began to rain. I was so excited that I almost ran into the rain, shouting, "It's raining!"

He opened a transparent umbrella to shelter me. It was like the most beautiful rainy day I remember.

I smiled to hold out my hands, catching the cool rain in my palms. "Jonathan, do you believe that a princess swan could fall in love with a cruel demon?"

"Certainly! If I were a writer, I would make it happen," said Jonathan.

"Yes, you can. You make a woman love you whole-heartedly!" I said.

He crouched down in front of me and held my hand, his palms were still warm. "Thank you!" he said.

"If the happy ending I hope is… hold my hand and never let it go again, can you do it?" I asked.

"As long as you speak it out, I can make it come true!" he replied.

"I love you!" I told him.
