On a street filled with people, Knight and Arwen were navigating through the crowded streets. They were alone as they had no guards around them but since Arwen was wearing his mask and Knight was in his human form, they didn't need to worry about someone recognizing them.
"Arwen, are we going in the right direction?"
"Yes, General Knight,im familiar with this place as I came to invite them to the Coronation"
"I wonder why they didn't come?" Asked Knight and slowly walked toward the huge compound not far away. Only then did Knight as he walked closer to the house which was filled with a majestic and imposing aura, both of them were stunned to see that the entrance was actually clustered by quite a number of people. Moreover, these people were all wearing the alchemist robes and the few bright silver colored ripples on their chests proudly revealed their status and rank.
Anyone who walked down this street, where people come and go, would throw envious and respectful glances at the group of alchemists who were whispering amongst themselves. In their hearts, alchemy was an occupation which was so elevated that they were like nobility.
"I guess something to do with this" Arwen pointed out the large crowd of Alchemists gathered at the gates.
Some servants were explaining something to the alchemists waiting at the entrance in a reverent and respectful manner. Only when they discovered that the other party had the qualification to enter did they let them through. Some of the alchemists whose ability had some problem could only be rejected by the smiling faced servants.
The last time Arwen came here was a week ago and then, there were no crowds such as this. Knight however didn't slow down looking at the crowd and he walked straight to the guards at the guards.
Pushing through the crowd, Knight took a step forward. An old man, who appeared to have the position of the housekeeper, hurriedly came forward. However, when he saw Knight and Arwen's young appearances and the civilian clothes, a disappointment that was somewhat difficult to sense flashed through his muddled old eyes.
Although his heart was somewhat disappointed, the old man who had worked as a housekeeper at the Lucroy Family for decades would naturally not be foolish enough to display it on his face. Immediately, he revealed a gentle smile and laughed, "my lords, forgive this old man but only Alchemists are allowed to enter the compound"
"Oh, we are not Alchemists alright. We are here to see your young miss, Yvonne Lucroy, she knows us" Knight calmly said and surprised the old man. However, the old man quickly shook his head and still looked adamant not to let them in. Knight didn't get angry at the old man for doing his job but he just smiled and asked
"Tell me if I'm right, is your Lord, Miss Yvonne's grandfather alright?" After looking at all the Alchemists and the guards around the place, Knight guessed the health of Yvonne's grandfather became worse.
"We are here to offer our help to cure him, if you don't go inform Yvonne, we'll leave" The old man was stunned because the youth in front of him spoke confidently and didn't seem blindly boasting.
"Please wait here, my lords, I'll go inform Young Miss Yvonne"
"And tell her that her favorite archer is here," Knight told the old man before he rushed towards the mansion. Arwen revealed an embarrassed smile after hearing Knight and seeing the elf cracking his knuckles in tension, Knight chuckled.
"Relax Arwen, she's just a girl, not an Evil ghost "
"General Knight, wait until you see her" Knight shrugged and waited a few minutes. Then the old man came running to them and this time, his eyes were filled with respect and fear,
"My lords, please enter. I hope that you will really be able to cure our Lord. If that is the case you will forever be our Lucroy family's friend." The old man bowed slightly toward Knight and Arwen.
Knight nodded his head slightly. His face still had a small smile. Without saying any other nonsense, he slowly walked into the main entrance and disappeared from everyone's sight with Arwen.
After entering the main entrance, a pretty female servant hurriedly walked out from one corner. After which, she gently said a few words to them before leading the way from in front.
Both of them followed behind the female servant at neither a fast nor a slow pace. While following the servant Knight was relaxed but Arwen's gaze swept over this luxurious mansion. However, Knight already started to scan the mansion and found the mansion was not as protected as it should be.
But then, he remembered the Lucroy family was declined after Yvonne's grandfather became a victim of a soul fracture.
Walking on a small path that was paved by green colored stone fragments, Knight's eyes suddenly narrowed slightly. From his senses, numerous hidden gazes and Energy signatures had shot out from hidden corners as he entered deeper into the interior of the Mansion, capturing every action of he and Arwen into their eyes.
Knight casually raised his head and his gaze randomly drifted across the roof of a building. There were some dark black shadows hidden in the darkness of the spot. Many sharp arrowheads that were painted black to cover the reflection from the sun were slowly moving within the mansion. Any little sign of trouble would instantly cause them to send out an attack.
"Twenty-five," Arwen said suddenly and Knight knew that this number is, it was the number of Archers on the roof.
"The defense is really quite tight…"
"If Yvonne wanted to protect her grandfather, she should have put better archers" Arwen snickered and shook his head disapprovingly after noticing the mistakes the Archers on the roof were making.
Knight paid no attention to the Archers as he's not here to hurt Yvonne's grandfather but to offer a chance to cure him. He raised his head and watched a luxurious large hall that appeared at the end of the small path. His gaze passed through the unlatched door and was able to faintly see that there were quite a number of people standing within it.
As he slowly walked into the hall, there were some soft and private whispers that were emitted from within. He gently pushed open the door, the soft whispers in the hall suddenly ceased. After which, numerous gazes were thrown toward the door. When everyone's gazes drifted towards him and Arwen who didn't wear any Alchemist badges, they were momentarily stunned. Bewilderment immediately flashed across their eyes. Clearly, they all felt that it was strange for normal cultivators to enter this place as they entered the place only after proving their identities as Alchemists.
Arwen's gaze swept across the large hall. In the spacious hall, there were many Alchemists. On their chests, they wore badges with different numbers. Among them, there were even two who wore number 5 on their chests indicating they were Level 5 Alchemists.
Ignoring those strange gazes, Arwen slowly moved his gaze, finally stopping at a middle-aged man's body which was seated on the leader's seat in the hall. This person did not wear the long robe of an alchemist but seated in an impressive manner. As his tiger-like eyes opened and closed, he had an imposing manner.
Knight's gaze moved away from the middle-aged man's body and finally frowning paused on a person who had features of a girl but wore men's clothes. Her pretty eyes watched them and a surprise similarly flashed across her pretty face. She scanned him from top to bottom and then, she winked at both Arwen and him.
As their gazes stared at the middle-aged man, the latter also placed his gaze on them. When the middle-aged man saw the two of them, he was momentarily stunned. He immediately stood up, cupped his hands together, and said with a smile to Knight and Arwen, "Captain Arwen and…" the middle-aged man looked at Knight as Knight introduced himself
"I'm Knight, Don's brother and General of Everlight army" the middle-aged man's brows raised when he felt the strong grip of Knight and realized that this youngster is very powerful, just like Don.
On the other side, Yvonne's stare at Knight intensified and Arwen felt very awkward because he knew she's undressing Knight in her mind.
"I'm honored to meet you and Captain Arwen of Everlight. I'm Kamil Lucroy, the head of the Lucroy family and I believe you know my daughter. I only wish we have met under a different circumstance, General Knight"
"I heard what happened, can we talk somewhere more private?" Kamil nodded and signaled the servants to escort the Alchemists out of the room leaving them alone.
" Please sit, General Knight, Captain Arwen"
Both of them nodded lightly and walked to the empty seats near Kamil and then quietly sat down.
After sitting on the chair, Knight descended into silence. However, he was still able to clearly sense that Yvonne's gaze seemed to have paused for quite some time on his body. Immediately, he frowned in his heart and silently said, "she is creepy"
"Don has a brother?" Yvonne's pretty eyes glanced at the black-robed man seated beside Arwen. Her eyebrows were knit together as she softly muttered.
"Lord Lucroy, can you tell us what happened to your father?"
Kamil them let out a long sigh and started to explain the obvious,
"General Knight, my father, Francis Lucroy injured his soul when he tried to cross the tribulation to reach the Heavenly Realm, that's what we tell the outsiders but since Captain Arwen earned my daughter's trust and you said you have a way to cure my father, I'll tell you what really happened to my father"
