195 The Sixth Wave

All of the people's eyes were on the last contenders, Knight, Don, Audrey, and the last remaining contestant of the star empire. Unlike Don, Audrey, and the youth, Knight was smiling considering the ogre couldn't vanish or run around so fast.

"What is he doing?"

The tigress saw Knight running straight to the ogre while evading the fire breath. When Knight stood up in his two legs, he was able to reach the ogre's stomach as he slashed the ogre.

The ogre, however, didn't seem to mind the cut in his gut as it swung the lava pillar in his hand at Knight. He had already covered his paws with battle energy, so when the pillar got closer, Knight punched the pillar as many cracks started to appear on the pillar's surface.

The force of the punch disoriented the ogre and Knight didn't give it time to steady itself as Knight leaped higher and poked the ogre's eyes.

"Grrrrrrrrrr!"

Losing its eyes, the ogre screamed in agony.

"Kill that bastard"

Arrora cheered for Knight forgetting about the incident that happened earlier.

After losing its eyes, the ogre couldn't see its opponent as it started to swing and breathe fire aiming at everywhere.

Because of his super reflexes, he dodged and evaded the attacks and returned the favor by clawing and landing punches on the ogre's body.

The ogre's fire melted the dead bodies lying around in Knight's arena and the more damage he did to the ogre, the more violent it became.

When he realized that the ogre wasn't going down, Knight leaped again and landed on the ogre's shoulder.

The crowd gasped for air when they saw Knight standing on the ogre's shoulder while it violently swung its pillar and tried to swat Knight with its other hand.

"Let's see how you deal against this"

Knight said as a thin layer of hell flames covered his claws, the layer was so thin as the crowd couldn't even notice.

Knight dug the ogre's neck with his claws as the claws entered into the flesh like a sharp knife cutting a banana.

"GRRRRRRR!!!!"

The dark red blood sprayed out of the ogre's neck as it screamed in agony but soon its scream turned into mad laughter.

"Huh?"

Hearing the ogre laugh, Knight was confused and so was the crowd.

But suddenly the laughter stopped and the ogre's body started to grow big like a balloon.

"Oh shit"

Knight realized that the ogre is doing something crazy and suicidal as he quickly jumped down from its shoulder. Yet, Knight was too late as the ogre exploded and the blast of the explosions was so powerful as everyone thought that Knight was too exploded with the ogre.

When the dust cleared in Knight's arena, the whole arena was painted with the ogre's blood and guts but there was no sign of Knight. 

"Look"

Arrora sighed looking at Knight stand up on his feet and shaking away the dust from his body.

"It can't be"

Kight saw the people looking at him shocked as he realized that the blast accidentally pushed him into the light gateway.

He wanted to throw a tantrum and destroy the building but he calmed himself as he walked towards the tigress and Arrora.

But when he was walking, unexpectedly someone from the crows started to clap as more and more people clapped.

Even though he was shocked and surprised, he turned his head and waved at the crowd

"Thanks, everyone"

"Look at that, a civilized beast"

Rosaline snickered looking at Knight wave at the crowd.

After Knight, the youth from the star empire ran out of energy and strength to fight the ogre as he used his remaining energy to run into the light gateway barely escaping the ogre's fire breath.

Following his escape, everyone's gaze landed on the remaining two contestants, Princess Audrey and Don. 

"He's not doing good? Is he?"

Knight saw the blood dripping out of the cuts on Don's body and the burn wounds caused by the ogre's pillar.

"How can he?"

Arrora was returned to her previous mindset as she asked Knight in anger.

At the moment, Don's battle energy was split into two, one part of the energy was trying to soothe the pain in his chest as the other part was used by Don to battle. To use a powerful weapon like the bow of Arjuna, Don needed his full concentrated energy yet he was fighting with the ogre with half of his power.

The more he deviates the energy that was soothing his pain, the more pain would strike his mind and body hence he coughed blood before.

"shoot his throat"

Suddenly Don heard a voice in his mind and his pain disappeared for a moment. He was utterly confused but he had no time to think about the source of the voice as he quickly put his energy into the bow and fired the arrow to the ogre's throat.

Unlike Don who got instruction from an unknown voice, Princess Audrey used a magical artifact attached to her sword to find out the ogre's weak point.

"Lunar Ray"

Audrey raised her hand at the ogre as a powerful golden energy beam shot out from her to the ogre's throat.

Both the ogres stood there with a hole on their throat as they walked clumsily for a moment before their lifeless body hit the ground.

He was rewarded with a reinforced round shield, made from Grodian, offering a powerful buffer, especially against stabbing attacks and arrows and bolts.

Don didn't know that this wasn't a mere fluke, as this shield was forged for Goddess Kaya in the depths of Mount Ituver, one of the mountains in the realm of Gods. Only three shields could be found like this in the entire universe.

The shield's edges were augmented with metal plating and have been decorated with feather-like metalwork.

Its center was embellished with seemingly magical runes and symbols of nature.

It was clear this shield had served its master well. Scratches and marks made by who knows what left mementos on its surface, but one thing was sure: this shield wasn't done serving just yet.

Audrey was rewarded with a blueprint but just like before she didn't even take a glance at it as she put it into her space ring.

"Wow, look at that"

The crowd was surprised to see the shield flying right into his hands like it was being called as they didn't see Don was casting a spell or doing anything.

"What's an archer like him going to do with the shield? "

Amara was jealous of looking at the shield as she ridiculed him.

The pain returned after he slew the ogre as the number six appeared before him.

"Come on, brother, you can do this"

Knight said under his breath and looked at the projection without batting an eye.

"The final wave"

Princess Audrey was informed by Aragorn Iden, the most powerful mage in the moon empire that the sixth wave was the last defeatable wave in the arena as with her current suppressed cultivation level, no one could defeat the creature that would appear in the next wave. His words were like God's words for Audrey as if he said that no one can survive the seventh wave and get out of the arena with the sixth wave, she would do just that because he was the most powerful mage in the empire and he couldn't beat the seventh wave.

Only a few youths around her knew that the creature that would appear in the seventh wave is invulnerable to both physical and magical attacks, which meant the creature couldn't be killed.

The crowd expected a different horrible creature to appear but what appeared was not one creature but two, two monstrous centipedes.

The green liquid oozed out of their mouth as thousands of legs sent a chill through everyone's spine.

"What's she doing?"

Their gazes turned away from the centipede as a golden barrier appeared around Audrey and above the golden barrier, the symbol of Aragorn Iden emerged, a majestic eagle that clutching a sun in his talons.

The magical fluctuations around Audrey skyrocketed 

"Impressive"

Rosaline nodded in surprise as she was shocked to see that Audrey was able to cast this much powerful spell with her suppressed cultivation level.

The centipede tried to break the buried and stop her from completely casting the spell but no matter how hard they hit the barrier, they couldn't even make a crack on the barrier.

While she was casting the spell, Don was avoiding the poison blobs shot by the centipedes. One centipede attacked him the closer range while the other one attacked with its poison blobs from the distance.

When Don fired an arrow aiming at the centipede in the back, the other centipede would block the arrow with its metal-like scales.what made the centipede even more dangerous than the previous creatures was their coordination and speed of their attacks.

Just when he was barely surviving the centipedes, Audrey finally opened her eyes.

"Supernova Magniate"

The moment she uttered the word, a small super nova's appeared before her. The supernova radiated powerful life energy as no one could believe a master mage could cast a spell like this. She was shielded from the supernova but the centipede started to scream and squeal as the supernova began to spin.

When the supernova completed one spin, one centipede turned into ashes and when the second spin was completed, there was no one in Audrey's arena except her.

"Wow"

The youths gasped for air as she made it look so easy and the centipedes so weak.

However, when the supernova faded away, she fell to the ground because she used all of her strength and power to cast the spell.

"My family would be proud of me"

Audrey smiled and picked up the magical artifact that she was rewarded with and slowly walked towards the light gateway to leave the arena.
