242 Sense of Loss

All the creatures gathered by his bloodied body. Although they had managed to kill him, their body language didn't seem very proud or happy but terrified.

That was because they were still frightened out of their minds from the battle. The frightful amount of black energy that he managed to release, and used to kill the Six and Five was quick and brutal. One gave them a one-time usable Legendary spell to attack his carriage and injure him but even with his injuries, the fight he put up was shocking. Good thing they were able to cut his communication through the Khal or his troops would have reached here in time.

Even with all their planning, in the end, they lost a group to his sword. This was a show of power that was far beyond what a peak level grandmaster could accomplish. This left the remaining survivors terrified since he was only one peak level grandmaster and they had thirteen peak-level grandmasters. But what shocked them more was the one said that he was infected with death energy and would be unable to fight with his full strength. Looking at their losses, they couldn't even imagine fighting him while he was in his full strength.

"his final burst of energy came from nowhere, just how strong was that blast?" One of the creatures gravely asked.

Silently, another creature began to ponder for a moment, "He was too strong. He must have cultivated some sort of secret technique that is unknown to us."

" Let us hope that his men don't find us"

"Yes we have already lost many of our brothers today, let's leave this place before we have another fight in our hands"

"That's true. We've killed him already, so there is no need to talk about this. But One asked us to bring his space ring"

Without any hesitation, another replied, "Of course. One said she will distribute the items equally to us, a strange human-like him will have so many treasures inside the ring."

The creatures nodded their heads as they searched his hands.

After a while, one of the creatures cried out in shock, "This is terrible, he doesn't have a space ring!"

"What!" The others cried out in shock as well.

"Let me see!" another creature crouched before his body and began to rifle through his body before its expression became extremely ugly.

"This fucker!"

One of the creatures kicked his body in anger, "shit! One is going to kill us if we return to the camp without his space ring!"

"This is troublesome, where could the space ring be? I can't sense anything around us?"

"It appears that we can only report this matter back to One and let her send a few sniffers to locate his space ring. If they really cannot find it, then One will find another way to please the Great one"

"That's the only thing we can do."

After the creatures had discussed what to do, they left the area quickly. They had to make sure this information would get back to One. Before they left the area, they took corpses of their fallen friends as well.

Don's body gradually began to lose heat as his life continued to fade away.

He was half-dead when they attacked his Jewel with the Legendary spell and after that, one creature had stabbed him in the chest and attacked with three God level spells. Even a heavenly level mage couldn't have survived this let alone a peak level grandmaster like him.

The world began to grow dark, and the surroundings grew quiet. Only a mess remained where he had fought, like evidence of how bitter the great fight had been.

An hour later, a figure could be seen flying through the air and suddenly stopped in midair as the figure quickly descended to where Don's body lay. Giving the body a quick look, the figure screamed, "DON!"

*****************

Whilst everything was unfolding, Arrora was having a merry time with Amaryll and the girls in Everlight. They sat at a large, round table which was full of people in the steel chick.

The waitresses were constantly helping Amaryll and the girls with refilling the ale and drinks. Their gazes at everyone at the table were filled with admiration and infatuation because they work in the castle closer to their king.

"Haha, finally I have chosen the names for our Hotel and tea house" Amaryll chugged down a cup of ale and laughed in a carefree manner that had originated from her joy.

Arrora's face carried a warm smile. Amaryll was the first girl she saw after being rescued by Don and ever since that day, they had become best friends. Seeing her best friend in such a festive mood, she couldn't help but feel happy for her.

"You should at least drink a cup of ale today, he's not here, you know"

Amaryll said in a teasing manner as Arrora shook her head and raised her mug filled with cold grape juice.

After clinking glasses with Amaryll, she wanted to down the entire cup of juice. However, just when the cup touched her lips, she suddenly shook violently as a lot of the juice was split, dirtying her pearl white robes.

The elven girls sitting next to Arrora immediately pulled out their handkerchiefs to gently wipe away the juice on her clothes. They said gently, "Lady Arrora, you should slow down. Look, the juice is splashed onto your clothes."

She did not pay any attention to the elves. She slowly put down the cup and grasped her chest with her hand. Her complexion began to change and her expression slowly became solemn.

Looking at the change in Arrora's face, Amaryll immediately showed an expression of concern and asked, "Arrora, what's wrong?"

She did not reply as her eyebrows were tightly furrowed and her hand remained tightly pressed against her chest. This was because she suddenly felt a weird pain in her heart and at the same time, she couldn't feel the master-slave bond between Don and her. Her mind became uneasy and felt a great sense of unease and agitation flood her soul from deep within.

" What has happened?" Arrora mumbled to herself at a sense of loss. She had never encountered such a situation, even when she faced foes or incoming dangers. She had never felt such a feeling before, not even when she lost her parents.

"Arrora, just what's happening to you?" Amaryll put down her glass of ale and stared at her in confusion.

"I don't know. Why do I suddenly feel uneasy?" She slowly stood up from her seat and went outside of the tavern.

Around the table, Vivian and the girls looked at each other. They did not know just what had happened to Arrora.

Suddenly, a gleam of light flashed across her eyes as her expression immediately became grim, and thought, "Did something happen to Don?" Thinking of Don, her uneasiness became even stronger, causing her to change greatly in expression. A great wave of terror flooded her heart.

The terror was not a type of fear brought on by powerful enemies, but a fear that extremely terrible things had happened.

"NO!!!!"

Just when she was in a state of uneasiness and confusion,

Catalie's scream echoed through the kingdom from the castle.

Everyone stopped what they were doing when they heard the little girl's scream and rushed towards the castle.

"Catalie!" Arrora could not stay any longer. She immediately controlled the wind element and rushed to the castle.

Amaryll also couldn't stay in the tavern but unlike Arrora, she wasn't proficient in using the wind element, so she threw the mug on the ground and ran towards the castle as fast as she could.

When Arrora entered the castle. There were black-armored soldiers patrolling everywhere. After seeing her clearly, they all bowed and exclaimed, "Lady Arrora"

She did not have the time to pay any attention to the soldiers. She immediately dashed towards Don's room where she heard Catalie's voice coming from.

After a few seconds, she came closer to his room and the moment she entered the room, she seemed to have been petrified, standing there blankly and dumbstruck. In front of her, there was a ring of people composed of Ken, Arwen, Reghys, Benedict, Nicolas, Riya, and Stodemar. As for the center of the ring, Don lay there, eyes closed, bloodied, and broken.

"Me king, wake up! Wooohooo"

The only sound in the room was Stodemar's cries, he was hugging Don and crying like a child while Catalie's figure was floating in the air, eyes closed.

Arrora stared blankly in the direction of the people. Although the center of the crowd was covered up by the surrounding people, he seemed to be able to see through the obstruction and clearly observe what was inside.

"Don!" After a long while, a painful cry came from her as she slowly walked towards the group of people with trembling feet.
