Jason looked at her as well and wondered if he should say goodnight too but he is not in the mood to kill himself yet with thoughts "goodnight baby sis"
Anna nodded and went upstairs and Jason just remember that he had promised to call Courtney ah, girlfriends suck, he thought as he reached for his phone and walked out to the porch to call her. The night was airy, looks like it's about to rain, it chilled his body immediately and he shivered, he has to be done with the call as soon as possible and go inside, he decided.
"Hi Courtney."
"Hi. I have been waiting for your call."
"When did you get home?"
"Not so long ago, the guys took Megan and I to the movies. It wasn't so much fun without you there.
"I'm sorry about that. I will try to be available the next time."
"The next time? Can't we both just go to the movies? Do we need to wait for the guys? I will really love some alone time with you."
Jason sighed, now he don't want that, but he can't tell her that "I...I will work on that."
"I will be leaving after Tuesday Jason, hope you know. I will come back during prom though, Megan made me promise. Have you got a date?"
"Not really."
"Oh, so?"
"Well, prom is still three weeks away, so I figure before that time, I will have a date."
"I see, but since I will be around, will I need to go to prom alone? Megan already have a date you know, I won't be a third wheel for her."
Jason sigh, must she go there already? He is planning to take his sister to prom as his date, but won't that be suspicious if he has a girlfriend and she happens to be in town during prom and he leave her to take his sister? "Sure, I won't let you be that" he replied and heard some talking in the house, he look through the window and saw Anna, why is she downstairs again?
"Then I'm looking forward to it. You see..."
"Courtney talk to you later, my mom just called me" he interrupted.
"Oh, okay then. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
"I love you" she said expecting his reply.
Jason cursed inwardly "yea, me too" he hung up to avoid hearing what else she will have to say. He opened the door and got in to hear his mom saying "what are you to do then?"
He frowned "what's wrong?"
"Anna forgot her maths homework and textbook at school" Veronica answered.
"We will get it tomorrow, we will leave early then" he provided.
"No, I need to study it. I have quiz for it tomorrow" she replied.
Jason sighed "okay then, you go up, I will go get it for you"
"What! No Jason, it's late" Veronica refused the idea.
"I still say you guys leave early tomorrow for it. You can get up and join me. It's going to rain soon. I can't afford having you out there when it starts" Samuel interjected.
"Your dad is right. You can always leave early" Veronica insisted.
Jason sighed "but..."
"No buts young man" warned Veronica.
Jason looked at Anna and saw the tears cumulating in her eyes and his heart hurt "okay then. I will just go outside and finish my phonecall" he look at Anna "don't worry, you aren't gonna fail your quiz. We will leave really early tomorrow" he smiled but she just nodded and went back upstairs.
Samuel continued watching his game while Veronica continued going through her phone. Jason looked at them and sighed before walking outside the porch again. The rain will start soon, that's true but if only one of them would give him their car, he will be back before they know it.
He sigh as he think of what to do, Anna might be in her room crying and just the thought of those tears flowing down her cheeks breaks his heart. He looked inside the house through the window and saw his parents so engrossed in what they were doing, he will be out and they won't even notice. He paused as he calculate the idea, how about he leave now that they think he is just outside taking a phone call? He has to hurry up though because of the rain. He is not a fan of the rain, well, not that he don't like the rain but that he tends to get sick anytime he was in the rain.
He sigh and jumped out of the porch, he walk a few distance and turned to look at the house to be sure he is clear but then he saw a sight that he never expected to see. Anna was climbing out of her window, what the hell? He thought as he watched her, she grabbed the branch of the tree that was close to her window and climbed on the branch. He stood there with his hands folded on his chest as he shook his head unbelievably.
Anna watched her steps and slowly she climbed down from the tree, she crouched when she got to the window and stopped a step to the porch, she peeked at the porch obviously checking to know if he is still there and he couldn't help but smile at that. Seeing that he is not there, she ran out still crouching, a few distance from the house, she straightened up and let out a low sigh, well that happened, she thought and picked a race but then, she ran into a chest like rock. She screamed but a strong hand covered her lips immediately.
When she looked up to her predator, the breeze blew her hair to cover her face but she was already scared out of her hits, but something about that hand and scent felt so familiar, the person used his second hand to clear her hair out of her face and she stood gazing into a pair of amused blue eyes "Jason!"
"Where are you going young lady?" He asked amused.
Busted, Anna thought "um...um...I...what are you doing here?" She frowned, she deliberately waited a little while in her room hoping he will be done with his phone call by then and when she didn't see him at the porch, she thought he has gone in and all along he had just been here.
"Don't answer my question with your question young lady, where are you going?"
Anna pouted "I can't wait till tomorrow Jason, you know how awful I am with maths, what make you think I will be able to study well while still doing the homework?"
Jason sighed, of course, he knew she was heading to school "go in Anna."
"Jason please."
"Get back in" he tucked a lock of her hair behind her head and smile "I will go get it for you, how about that?"
"What?" He eyes widened "you mean...really?" She smile and he nodded.
"Yes, so go back upstairs, it will rain soon."
"Oh my God rain, Jason you are not on friendly terms with the rain. You go upstairs I will go get it."
"Like hell, I will be back before the rain starts."
"You are not so sure about that. It will start pouring anytime soon."
"Anna."
"Fine. I will go with you."
"No you won't. You are going inside."
"Um, if you haven't noticed, I climbed out through the window and I didn't give much touch about how I'm going to climb back in, so..."
"Anna..."
"Jason please, let me go with you. It's quite late, I can't afford you walking alone in the street."
"But you wanted to" he challenged.
She shrugged "you know we are delaying, how about I just go with you so that we will be quick and done with it."
Jason sighed, he knew there was no talking her out of it "fine, let's go."
Anna smiled and they both broke into a run to the school and it kind of turned into fun for them. Jason ran and Anna tried to catch him. It wasn't that long and they arrived at their school, thankfully, the night watch guard left the gate open and they sneaked in, they got to her class mad they saw the books lying on her desk "I knew I brought it out."
"Yea, and you left it on your desk" he teased which got a light feather slap on the chest from her. He laughed quietly and they took the books and ran out of the class, they saw the touch light of the guard flashing and they hid behind the wall, after a well he left and they made their way to the gate and they were out in no time.
"That was easy" Anna commented and he chuckled.
"Because you had me with you."
"Hey. Well you are right."
He smirked.
