"MEOW"

[ Little girl, I had an idea... follow me]

after saying that, Janus who transformed back to being a cute little black cat, started to run. To catch every ones attention, he even chose to run in the middle of the group of palace maids causing them to be startled. They step aside one by one unconsciously and stand apart giving the cat some space.

Mu Lingxi was not sure what exactly is the plan but since she don't have any other better idea in mind, she started to follow her running cat.

"Sorry,... ooopppss sorry,... excuse me... I have to go..." she said as she made her way between the standing palace maids, running to catch up with her cat Janus. Occasionally bumping to some of the palace maids along her way since she was running while trying to cover her face afraid that if they stare any longer, they will remember how she looks.

The master and cat duo just left like that while the remaining people on the scene was left standing with mouth agape. The beautiful lady just come and go without giving any explanation so they shifted back their attention to Prince Long Yue who just like them was also dumbfounded for the sudden turn of events.

"I really don't know her and there is nothing going on between us. I just had an argument with her. That's all." Prince Long Yue explained hurriedly as he saw how Madam Choi look at him.

Madam Choi might be a simple palace maid, but for Long Yue, she was like his second mother and he can't bear to see Madam Choi misunderstood him. So even though he was a prince, he felt like he needs to give her some explanation.

Madam Choi knew Prince Long Yue better than anyone. Maybe even better than how Concubine Lin, Prince Long Yue's biological mother, knows her son. Seeing the young prince expression, as if a child who was being accused wrongly, Madam Choi's heart as a mother butt in. Although she was still a maiden and don't have a son of her own, she already treated this prince as her own son.

Being the one who technically watch how Long Yue grew up, she knew if Prince Long Yue was lying or not. And right now she feel that he was telling the truth. She believes him right away.

"I know that the young prince was saying the truth. Now, we have to leave and go back to the banquet. Everyone was waiting for you" Madam Choi replied.

Hearing Madam Choi's reply, Prince Long Yue heaved a sigh of relief.

"I have to go back to my room first and change, all of you can go now" he said to dismissed everyone as he turn around and headed back to his room.

The palace maids started to dispersed eventually but they still have the questioning looks on their face as they secretly look back at Prince Long Yue's departing figure.

Madam Choi might believe him unconditionally since she know Prince Long Yue pretty well, but this palace maids don't know anything, aside from the common knowledge that every royal bloods were a natural born womanizers. Thus, they were highly convinced that since Prince Long Yue was already eighteen he might also started to walk the path of his ancestors, a philanderer through and through.

Prince Long Yue was aware about this but he care less. As long as Madam Choi believes he is innocent, that would be fine. But of course he still can't help but resent that girl who left him all alone in this awkward attention.

"Hmp! Don't you ever think that this was over. I won't let you go that easy the next time I saw you" he promised to himself as he change into his new robe, ready to head to the banquet.
