Chapter 257 - THE OTHER END OF THE TREE TUNNEL

Name:SORCERESS 101 Author:WolfsBane
From where they were standing, the group can see that the place was vast and filled with flowers and other docile looking beasts.

Now, what left them wondering is on which part of this vast place could they find the waterfall that will lead them to the final exit of Magus Academia.

"Chan Gu, do you have the Nexus Portal with you right now? We might be needing that.."

Mu Lingxi asked her friend as soon as they finally recovered from the lightheadedness that they suffer from their teleportation just a while ago.

"I do have it with me. Wait for a second.."

As he said that, Chan Gu tried rummaging inside his storage ring and not a while, he flicked his hand and a palm-size artifact materializes out of thin air.

Following the steps on  how to activate the Nexus Portal, Chan Gu bit  his finger first before dripping a droplet of his blood in the blue-green water inside it

As soon as his blood mixed with the blue-green water inside the Nexus Portal, the whirlpool inside the palm-size artifact intensifies.

Chan Gu stirred the water clockwise using his bitten finger and not long after that, the whirlpool of water started to calm down. It did not take long for the last ripple of water to cease.

When the water reverted back to tranquility Chan Gu lean closer to have a good look at what was being reflected on the water.

The rest of the group did the same thing and they all try to peak at the Nexus Portal in Chan Gu's hand.

Taking a closer look at the water, one could see something reflecting on it. It was the place where the portal leading to the final exit of Magus Academia lies.

"Come, let us head there now."

With Chan Gu on their lead, Mu Lingxi and the others set themselves to another portal searching.

Within the tranquil water of Nexus Portal shows a place that has a megalithic structure. If one would have to think of its counterpart in Mu Lingxi's previous life, the place had a striking resemblance to the Stonehenge of England.

Following the direction provided by the Nexus Portal itself, the group soon arrived at a place located at the far end part of the vast greenery.

As soon as they saw what lies ahead of them, the group halted their steps. Standing before them is an overlapping canopy of trees.

These overlapping trees formed an atmospheric tunnel, much like the Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland. Its branches seemed to be sticking into one another in an odd way giving the place a creepy ambiance.

"Are you sure that is the way?? Do we really have to cross that tree tunnel over there???"

Mu Lingxi said with a hesitant voice. It is not that she was being a coward... but yeah... Let us just call her one for now.

For she looked no different from a scared cat cowering behind her friends right now. She had seen a lot of spooky things in the past and she had come in contact with different inexplicable things before.

Nevertheless, she still can't help but feel a certain degree of uneasiness whenever she has to face this kind of situation. Where she has to brave something that obviously does not look safe.

The place was as if screaming of danger signs, yet she will always still end up venturing it for she has no other choice but to do so.

Up until now, she really just can't claim that she will eventually get used to it. It seemed that she will never be.

Every time that she has to face something such as the one before her, a bad feeling of premonition always rose in her heart.

What good would have come to a place that looks as creepy as that? They can not even see what was waiting for them inside the tree tunnel for it was dark. Mostly because of the overlapping canopy.

If not from the crown shyness that inevitably produces a channel-like gap along with the canopy of trees, there will be no single light that will come in the area.

"As shown in the Nexus Portal, at the end of this tree tunnel lies the stone formation. Which could very much likely be the place where the portal could be found. "

Hearing Chan Gu's roundabout confirmation of what she feared most right now, Mu Lingxi slumped her shoulders. Left with no choice, she followed her friends as they crossed the tree tunnel together.

The light faded in their background as they step inside the tree tunnel. Inching forward little by little, the group felt a range of tingling sensation on their skin, particularly on the nape of their neck and their shoulder blades.

But they chose not to pay it any heed as they continue to move forward. They tried to reach the end of the tree tunnel as fast as they could. Without any delay, the group half walk and half run as they made their way through the dark tree tunnel.

The light that shone ahead of them seemed to grow bigger as they move closer. Signifying that they were drawing closer to the exit.

"How far is it? Aren't we close yet?"

Asked the impatient Yun Xue as they continue to move forward.

"We must be close already. I can already see the light clearly."

Strange enough though, the group can't see anything aside from that light. No matter how hard they try to peak beyond the light, there seemed nothing that lies ahead of it.

No silhouettes of trees nor the stone formation, only pure white light. But Mu Lingxi and her friends still continue to advance forward until they reach the source of the light.

The light came from another opening, the other mouth of the tree tunnel. On this other end of the tree tunnel, the group was lead to a place with a broad road where roses and lilies bloomed by the wayside

It also has a small waterfall that ran down the rocks and glistened in the sunlight. But that is not the centerpiece of the place. In the middle, the group saw the megalithic structure that looked like the Stonehenge.

This stone formation has big blue rocks built in a circular position. While on its center lies another stone platform that resembled an altar.

The altar is enchased with sapphire stones that have the same size of a fingernail. This sapphire studded stone altar also has a blue light halo around it.
