It took him just one night to land a kiss while the harem had been stuck in the sister zone for ages. And being in the sister zone is far worse than being in the friend zone which meant it was a hopeless case.
"Shixiong, how did you move mount Tai in one night?" whispered Qie Xieling but he didn't get to get an answer because his aunt, Shao Lan and Machu showed up.
"Ah, has it started already? You see, this is why I told you to leave early," complained Dai Yu while slumping on the ground close to Zhao Zhi.
Machu didn't appreciate being blamed for this so he said, "You are the one who insisted on putting on makeup so how is this my fault?" while sitting next to Qie Xieling helping himself to the bag of peanuts.
"It's all your fault. All you had to say was Yu-Jie you look beautiful when I asked you how do I look but what did you say? You said I look like an auntie selling radishes at the market in the middle of summer. You say that kind of shit to a woman and you know you are going to be two hours late to the party," explained Dai Yu.
"Oh god, here we go again," said Shao Lan feeling like he should just go back and find something else to do. Even fighting spiritual beasts would be more interesting than hanging around waiting to get caught in the crossfire.
"Here, let me show you. Xieling, how does aunty look?" she asked looking over to her nephew.
Like a good child, Qie Xieling grinned and said, "Auntie looks *muah, fantastic."
"*cough, *cough, suck up, *cough," said Machu concealing his words with loud coughing sounds.
Dai Yu's lips twitched while glowering at Machu but it wasn't effective. She then turned to Zhao Zhi sitting next to her and said, "How about you Zhi-ge, how do I look?" in a cute loli voice that could have men barking and whistling with their tongues sticking out but of course, Wen Qinxi had grown immune to this.
"Um... ahem," replied Wen Qinxi feeling pressurised. All the man wanted was to watch a good show but now he was being dragged into a senseless argument. "Very beautiful," he said in earnestness.
Dai Yu was about to respond when the catfight at the stream upgraded to hair pulling. "Oh wow, shorty really packs a punch," said Machu as they watched the short lady in a pink dress knee one of the girls in the stomach.
The other women tried to separate them but ended up getting caught in between instead. This quickly escalated into a random fight making the melon seed eaters in the peanut gallery somewhat lose interest.
"If they keep fighting like this our bets would be useless. Should we stop them?" asked Qie Xieling with a pained expression.
"How about letting the sect leader deal with this?" said Shao Lan as one of the ladies took off her brocade boots and tossed them into the fighting crowd.
"That would be a problem, he said he is going into closed-door cultivation and no one is allowed to disturb him," explained Machu his heart aching for the woman who was smacked across the face.
Dai Yu casually tossed a melon seed into her mouth looking like she was enjoying the show very much. "Why stop it? This is very entertaining. Hey Xieling, be a good boy and pass some peanuts over to your dear aunt," she said without taking her eyes off the fight.
Everyone, "...."
Sensing everyone's gaze land on her she turned to face them with a puzzled expression. "What?" she asked looking confused, "Fine, you can stop the fight once they draw blood. Even a nose bleed will suffice. It's not a real fight unless you draw blood, isn't it?"
"Oh gosh, how is she any different from a ghoul?" complained Shao Lan before descending towards the stream.
"So violent," said Machu before following Shao Lan to separate the women.
Dai Yu didn't seem pleased about it yelling at them while standing up, "Don't you judge me! You all placed a bet!... Hey, hey, you two where do you think you are going?"
The two she was referring to pretended not to hear scurrying away at a fast pace. "Are you ignoring me? Hey!" she said seriously thinking of chasing after her nephew.
Qie Xieling seemed panicked recalling how his auntie made him write 'Auntie Yu is a rare beauty' a thousand times after talking back to her. This time his offence was even greater so he said, "Shixiong, run!"
The boy was right. That woman was like when a bullet train had a baby with a rocket and produced this heaven-defying creature. The only way they managed to shake her off was using a teleportation talisman teleporting themselves at the furthest corner of the Qie sect. Even when they did that she was still looking for them which left this nerd with only one choice.
"Let's jump," said Wen Qinxi pointing at the clear blue lake before them.
Qie Xieling gasped in horror and said, "Shixiong, her punishment isn't that bad that one should commit suicide..... ouch," yelped Qie Xieling after being smacked upside his head.
Wen Qinxi smiled and said, "Let me show you something cool," that is before he jumped into the deep lake that no one dared to challenge. With a big splash, Zhao Zhi was gone. The boy waited and waited but his Shixiong didn't resurface to the point where the ripples on the surface of the lake began to smooth out returning to a serene calmness.
Qie Xieling was so petrified that he kept on calling his Shixiong pacing up and down. He was just about to call his auntie to save Zhao Zhi when a beautiful tail surfaced followed by a familiar handsome face.
"Shixiong! You!.... Do you know I was crying?" he said overlooking the most important thing that is his Shixiong having a tail.
Wen Qinxi tossed his clothes at Qie Xieling accurately hitting him in the face. "I had to take off my clothes underwater otherwise I would look weird," explained Wen Qinxi flapping his merman tail as though saying 'look at me, praise me' but Qie Xieling didn't catch on quick enough. Wen Qinxi was starting to suspect his son was a slow-witted genius if there is even such a thing.
Having his merman tail ignored Wen Qinxi had to resort to slapping the tail so hard on the surface of the water causing a big splash in Qie Xieling's direction.
Qie Xieling was about to complain as he wiped the water off his face when his line of sight fell on that gorgeous tail. His eyes widened like a kid in a candy store. He couldn't wait to jump in and take a closer look.
