Wen Qinxi showed the true meaning of hopping mad as he stood outside the sect leader's Pavilion. He was like a parent causing a scene at his child school after his kid was bullied.
Let's just say at this point he had basically lost it which was something that seldomly happened to him. Well, that is until he met Qie Ranzhe. Huh? Maybe that's what it means when they say crazy in love.
The girl's acting skills were top-notch changing from a fierce jaguar to a fluffy duckling that was being bullied in a matter of seconds. If this girl was in the real world she would have snatched the academy award for best actress every single year.
Her plan was effective in portraying Zhao Zhi as the crazy outsider making a fuss out of nothing. Her tears appeared genuine to anyone who didn't understand what was going on but they were still crocodile tears regardless of how great she was at acting out a crying scene.
Even Dai Yu was almost convinced by her but she made one fatal error which was calling someone aunt who shouldn't be called that by anyone apart from her nephew. "Ayi (aunt) please help-," she said her face red from all the crying but she didn't get to finish when Dai Yu's eyes grew as cold as the arctic circle interrupting her plea.
"Excuse me. Ayi? Ayi? Who is your Ayi? Huh?.... Tsk, do I look that fuckin old? Such an asshole," said Dai Yu feeling quite offended. This girl had undoubtedly touched her sore spot making her so angry. Yes, Qie Xieling could call her aunt, auntie or aunty because they were related but this girl was a stranger.
That's right folks don't go around calling a stranger auntie. If you aren't certain rather go with big sister. Well, if you didn't know now you know.
Qie Xieling wanted to calm his father down but once he heard the word aunt come out of that girl's mouth he knew that Zhao Zhi was no longer a priority. Entering into an emergency mode he began to massage Dai Yu's shoulders while trying to recall if he had any of Dai Yu's favourite candy in his interspatial bag. Only the heavens know how long it would take to pacify his aunt.
If he didn't do this, this girl might lose her head creating a gory scene. While Qie Xieling was working so hard to calm his aunt, Wen Qinxi was yelling at the green tea bitch who just didn't know when to give up. She and her older sister who had shown up at some point were now calling for the sect leader while wailing exaggeratedly.
But their cries didn't reach Qie Ranzhe for a very long time. It was only after the meeting ended did one of the disciples manage to get through to them right after the barrier was retracted.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Was the sound of the loud irritating knocks coming from the door as soon as the barrier vanished. Two seconds later a frantic disciple walked in looking rather flustered. "This disciple greets the sect leader and senior brothers," he said cupping his hands with a hint of impatience in his voice.
The three could sense it but in their minds, anything short of the sect being attacked by fierce ghosts wouldn't warrant such a reaction. It had to be a ghost attack of the highest level and nothing else.
Well, their thoughts weren't too far off because right now Wen Qinxi equalled an attack by twenty fierce ghosts. In fact, the ghost king would just give him centre stage and hopelessly watch his job get stolen by a human. It would have to change careers in a tight global economy with a high unemployment rate.
"It's, it's senior disciple Zhao Zhi. He is picking a fight with a Shimei outside the Pavilion," said the junior disciple feeling exasperated.
Everyone, "....."
This news was highly unexpected. How bad of a scene did Zhao Zhi cause to have an entire sect shaken? Well, they soon understood when they found two women kneeling with Zhao Zhi towering above them.
At first glance, one would assume that the two women were being bullied but these three had experienced much of life to know that things are not always what they seem.
As soon as the two women saw Qie Ranzhe they upped their crying level and began to plead with him. "Sect leader Qie, please get us justice. This man harassed and assaulted us for no apparent reason. He is a mad man," said the older sister huddling her innocent-looking little sister.
She didn't even bother finding out whether the accusations were true or not because she trusted her little sister which was a big mistake on her part.
Qie Ranzhe was so irritated by the noise that he gently closed his eyes and placed his index finger on his lips. Just this gesture alone had the entire crowd silent with a chill sweeping past them. That's how much power Qie Ranzhe had over them.
All he had to do was point in a certain direction and things would be done in an instant. He was the type of leader that if he asked them to jump they wouldn't ask why but rather how high.
"Dai Yu," said Qie Ranzhe staring at Zhao Zhi with a meaningful gaze his arms behind his straight back. This gaze had Wen Qinxi feeling a certain way that was hard to describe. Even when he wasn't sneaking glances at Qie Ranzhe he could still feel that gaze lingering all over his body making his scalp go numb. He couldn't figure out what was going on in Qie Ranzhe's head.
"Oh," said Dai Yu before clearing her throat to narrate today's events, "She called me aunty. Can you believe that? Who's her fuckin aunt?"
She would have gone on if it weren't for Qie Xieling stopping her. This wasn't what his father was asking her. Qie Xieling leaned in and whispered something to her under everyone's gazes.
"Oh, ohhhh.... sorry, sorry. She tried to seduce Xieling and Zhi-er is just defending my little nephew's honour," explained Dai Yu summarizing almost an hour of drama in one short sentence.
"Oh, and she also called him an outsider and that this wasn't any of his business. That's what the fuss is all about.... and yeah, she called me aunt... that's her biggest offence in my opinion."
Qie Ranzhe seemed to understand what transpired and didn't have a problem with the way Zhao Zhi handled it. In fact, if it had been him who found out first he would have destroyed her spiritual root and threw her out of the sect by now. She was incredibly lucky that it was Zhao Zhi who found her.
"I understand then carry on," he said to Zhao Zhi in a nonchalant tone. Zhao Zhi was Qie Xieling's father so he can do as he pleases to protect their son and Qie Ranzhe would have no objection.
