Chapter 143 - Lauren's Condition

Arriving at the hospital, Bryana and Dean carrying Calvin walked down the corridor to the ER until they saw Louis sitting down in a long chair, which was pressed against the wall in front of the ER.

"Louis, how's Lauren?" Bryana asked worriedly, while Dean immediately lowered Calvin from his arms.

"I don't know, because the doctor has been treating her since the beginning," answered Louis sadly.

Bryana sighed in exasperation and glanced at the unopened emergency room door. She imagined how Lauren was struggling to survive with the help of the medics. 'Hopefully, nothing fatal happens,' she thought.

"Honey, have a seat, we just wait. maybe the doctor will be out in a minute," Dean exclaimed, realizing that Bryana had been suffering from backache since this morning.

Bryana sat next to Dean who sat beside Louis while holding Calvin on his lap. The atmosphere became quiet and tense thinking about what happened to Lauren.

until a few moments later, the emergency room door looks open. A middle-aged male doctor wore black basic pants combined with a blue shirt and white medical coat. Louis immediately got up from the chair and approached the doctor.

"Doctor, how is my girlfriend?" asked Louis without hiding his relationship with Lauren in front of Bryana.

"She lost too much blood, but fortunately we from the hospital have enough bloodstock for her," replied the doctor looking relieved, but after a while his gaze became sad. "But we couldn't save the womb. the impact was too hard to make the fetus fall," he continued sadly.

Instantly Louis who was initially relieved became weak and closed his eyes for a moment while massaging his forehead. 'Oh my God, why is it like this?'

Bryana was silent with a frown upon hearing about Lauren's unsalvageable womb. 'Really, since when did Lauren get pregnant? And who got her pregnant?' She wondered.

"But she's fine, right?" asked Dean.

"Yes, she made it through the critical period. We will transfer her to the ward to recover her condition," explained the doctor then said again, "then excuse me."

"Yes, Doc." Dean nodded while the others looked choked. Louis is very sad because of the loss of his future baby, while Bryana is still confused about when Lauren was pregnant and who got her pregnant.

Bryana looked at Louis who she knew had been making out with Lauren and at that time Dean asked her not to make a problem if Lauren and Louis were in a relationship. "Are you the one who got Lauren pregnant?" She asked to the point.

"Yeah," Louis said with a nod, then walked over to the chair where Calvin was sitting, playing with Bryana's smartphone.

Bryana frowned and followed Louis, then sat down beside him. "Why, why don't you marry her if you get her pregnant? she shouldn't have to work when she's pregnant... I mean, she better focus on her pregnancy and why are you covering this up and Let it work?"

Bryana immediately charged at Louis with a question in her head. Of course, she feels guilty and uncomfortable for Lauren who turns out to be pregnant but still works as a babysitter to take care of Calvin and Sofia which is quite troublesome and emotionally draining when they are unruly and then falls down the stairs due to an accidental oil spill by someone who wants to harm her. The woman felt guilty and felt sorry for her babysitter.

"Sorry for not being honest and even committing violations even to the point of impregnating my partner, but all of that happened because we loved each other... and I'm going to marry her," said Louis slowly starting to tell about his relationship with Lauren.

Lauren walked out of the inspection room with slow steps, holding the envelope containing the results of her examination. She walked over to Louis who was sitting in a chair waiting, and of course, his lover was waiting for her.

"I'm pregnant," Lauren whispered as she stood in front of Louis who was looking down at his smartphone.

Louis looked up at Lauren for a moment, then stood up to face her. "Pregnant?" He seemed surprised by what Lauren had just said.

"Yeah... It's so embarrassing and I'm going to lose my job," Lauren said wearily, then sat down in a chair.

Louis was silent for a moment and looked at Lauren who seemed not to want the pregnancy, but instead, he felt a strange swish on his body, as if something touched his heart and made him happy to imagine that there was a little angel the fruit of his love with his lover.

"Don't say that this reality is embarrassing, because not every woman can have the opportunity to be a mother," Louis exclaimed then grabbed Lauren's right hand. "I will marry you soon."

"No, don't marry me right away!" Lauren immediately refused.

"Why? will you get pregnant without a husband? I'm the father of the baby, then why did you refuse to marry me?" Louis looked at Lauren in surprise.

"I'm still not ready, I'm ashamed of Mrs. Bryana for betraying her trust," Lauren explained with teary eyes because she regretted having

exaggerated relationship without thinking. "I'm also ashamed of my family...."

Louis sighed wiping Lauren's tears with his thumb, then hugged her from the side. "Why should you be ashamed? I will always be by your side and will be your husband. We will face this together and if we are fired, I will find another job."

"Yes I know that but I'm not ready to get married. It's too soon and I feel ... I feel I can hide this pregnancy for a few months. I will continue to work while this pregnancy is not seen," said Lauren with confidence.

"No, that can't happen. You should rest a lot and let me do the work. I will meet your parents, even today I am willing," replied Louis.

"No, I beg you not now," cried Lauren, holding Louis's hand tightly. "I'll be fine because the doctor gave me a nausea reliever. I want to work for the next month or two and give my last salary to my family. ... After that I will be willing to marry you," she continued pleadingly.

Louis thought for a moment and it occurred to him that if Lauren put off marrying him, he would continue to work and be able to earn a salary to hold a wedding or buy a house on credit.

"Are you serious about this? Are you sure you will postpone marrying me?" he asked for sure.

"Yeah, I'm sure. I'll still be fine because you're always by my side. After all, we work together," replied Lauren with a smile.

Louis breathed a sigh of relief and touched Lauren's flat belly. "We fight together and after we get married, I'm going to buy a house that we'll together with our baby."

"Yeah, whether it's a boy or a girl, I imagine it will be so adorable." Lauren smiled in relief and hugged Louis.

from that day on, Louis and Lauren grew closer and seemed to have a bond because of the potential child between them. when she was taking care of Calvin at school, Lauren often asked Louis to buy anything if she suddenly had cravings, she even looked very healthy because Louis always obeyed her and cared about her.
