Chapter 241 - Raymond's Sadness

At home, Raymond is still often silent pensive since his father was buried. He didn't even have the appetite to eat or drink. usually, when he was feeling down he would drink champagne or some other alcoholic drink, but this time nothing could make him forget the kidnapping and death of his father before he had the chance to cuddle a grandson with him.

Raymond was standing on the balcony of his front porch, staring at the orange sunset sky. A glimpse of the time he often spent every afternoon chatting with his father after coming home from work, brought tears to his eyes. He lost his only parent who was always with him after his mother died. Yes, because after his mother died, he lived alone with his father because Bryana moved to Jakarta.

Monica who was in the room looked at the door to the balcony, finding Raymond again contemplating. She took a deep breath and walked over to her husband.

"Honey," Monica called.

Raymond turned his head for a moment, then turned back towards the view of the sky.

Monica hugged Raymond from behind, inhaling the woody scent of her husband's gray sweater. "Honey, don't daydream too much. You have to be sincere with dad's departure, maybe this is the best for him. Let him rest in God's side, he's no longer in pain now."

"I'm trying to let go but it's so hard. I've barely been away from him since I was a kid, even if I came here I couldn't stay long because I was worried that he would be lonely in London," said Raymond.

"I know, you love him, care about him even you are a very devoted son and never want to disappoint him, but this is fate, we can't fight," said Monica as she let go of her hug, then positioned herself beside Raymond while looking up at the sky with her hand holding the black guardrail.

"We were always together, the two of us in silence comforting each other when we were sad because we thought of our mother, of Jill who lives far away from us. We often spend time chatting while playing chess on the terrace of the house until late at night, enjoying a cup of coffee, even sleeping on the spot. too many memories, I admire him as a parent who is steadfast and always wants to make his child comfortable, even though it has to sacrifice by keeping a distance." Raymond spoke very sadly, remembering every moment with his father until tears fell again.

"To keep Jill safe, he forced her to stay in Jakarta, even though he always missed her. At that time Jill didn't know anything and hated him until finally, he got back together when she was allowed to marry Dean. Everything dad does is to make us happy," he continued with unstoppable tears remembering his father's face that usually never left his sight every day.

Monica looked at Raymond and hugged him, letting him cried in her arms. "I know your heart is breaking, but you have to be strong because dad will be sad if he sees you sad. You know that right? He always wants to see you and Bryana happy, so you have to let him go with your sincerity and move forward for a better life," she said while rubbing her husband's back.

"I will try to be strong," said Raymond and then moved from Monica's arms.

Monica looked up at Raymond and wiped his tears. "Don't cry anymore. I don't like to see my handsome husband cry," she said mockingly.

Raymond smiled sheepishly and wiped away his tears, then brought his face closer to Monica's so that their foreheads pressed together. "Thank you for always being there for me, being patient, and always being my heart conditioner."

"Because I'm your wife because I love you, it's natural for me to do it." Monica touched Raymond's chest until she tiptoed to kiss his cheek.

"And you are the future mother of my child." Raymond felt Monica's belly which was still flat. "Too bad it didn't get a chance to see grandparents...."

"Even though we don't have the chance to see them, we can tell about them. Besides, can still see grandparents in Bandung," said Monica.

"Ah yes, when are we going to Bandung before we go back to London?" Raymond asked.

"Tomorrow morning, I'm not ready and tonight I want to visit Aidyn because Bryana will sleep at home tonight," replied Monica, turning to stare at the view of the yard. Her gaze fell on the car that had just passed the gate into the yard and stopped.

"That's Bryana coming. let's go down to greet her," Monica exclaimed when she saw Bryana and Dean get out of the car. She immediately pulled Raymond to come with her.

Bryana walked slowly while being led by Dean while two bodyguards were carrying her bags into the house.

"Welcome back, ma'am," said Franky who was standing at the door of the living room.

"Thank you, Franky," Bryana said with a warm smile as she continued to walk until when she arrived in the living room, Calvin and Sofia greeted him by ringing the trumpet with Lauren. She smiled happily seeing the two-child always in good condition even though a few days ago they were in danger, especially Calvin who was threatened by a bomb with Monica.

"Mom, isn't Aidyn coming home?" Calvin asked as he walked towards the door, hoping that his brother would come home in a nurse or someone else's arms as he saw that his mother wasn't holding him.

"Aidyn can't go home yet because he's still not well," Bryana replied. "Now come on in. I want to talk to you and Sofia too," she continued, holding Calvin's head.

"When can Aidyn come home? I can't wait to take him to play." This time it was Sofia who asked.

"If he is healthy and strong, he will come home soon. You just pray that he will be healthy and strong," Bryana explained with a smile looking at Sofia, who had the same bloodline as her, so he was not surprised that the little girl looked like her.

"We'd better sit on the couch. Mommy can't be too tired because it's still not completely healed," Dean shouted while leading Bryana to the living room followed by the children until they met Raymond, Monica, and Lily.

"Welcome back, Bryana. finally, you can get back together with this family and all the residents of this house. Without you, it feels very lonely and sad," Lily said then hugged Bryana for a moment.

"Yes, mom. But it's a shame Aidyn can't come home yet," Bryana replied by bending her face.

"It's okay, Dear. He's in the hospital for the good of his body, if he's healthy, he can come together with us," said Lily, holding Bryana's shoulder. She tried to calm Bryana who must have been devastated by her father's death, and the baby wasn't even allowed to come home. Being away from a child must be very sad, especially since the child is still a baby and very small.

"Do not worry. Raymond and I are going to the hospital to look after him tonight. You just rest at home," said Monica, who liked Aidyn. She intended to stay at the hospital to take care of the baby even though there were already nurses and bodyguards who always took care of him.
