17 Gala 4

When Li Wei walked into the ballroom everyone started to clap and cheer as if a prince was gracing the masses. Li Wei gave everyone a calm smile and followed the MC onto the stage while looking for the lady in the red dress.

The MC looked at Li Wei and saw the signal to start the show, so he gave the crowd a bright smile. "Everyone, thank you for coming tonight! You will be one of the first people to see the Hansoo group's new jewelry design. As some of you know CEO Wei has been working together with America's designer Jennie Young to make a unique and one of a kind collection called the universe. So without further ado let me show you the piece in the collection Universe, 'The Desert Star.'" The MC said with joy as the black box was lifted to show a gold diamond necklace with a ruby star clasp.

It took a moment before the crowd came back to their senses, but no one could blame them from the pure beauty of the design. Li Wei walked over to the MC and took the mic and looked at the necklace.

"It seems that everyone truly enjoys the design by silence but there is another magic to this necklace. It's called a star because we wanted it to be a piece that could make anyone shine, so when the light hits it, a shine comes forth to bring a glowing effect. We made it so even if you don't have the other piece of the collection it will help make any outfit dazzle and appeal."

Li Wei put down the small flashlight and turned and gave the crowd a smile, at that moment everyone erupted in cheers. As he was walking down the stage, many people came up to him asking about the science behind the piece.

"When I decided to venture into this field I just wanted to make something that no one would forget, so I won't reveal my secrets but I hope you enjoy more surprise from the Hansoo group." Li Wei said addressing the growing crowd.

With that said he left backstage followed by Mo Han leaving the cheers and questions of the people in the ballroom. Mo Han saw his boss's face do a complete turn back into the cold man that he always has known.

Li Wei was happy that the product was seen in a good light but the main show was about to begin, and that is where he really have fun. Giving Mo Han the signal he waited for flies to swarm as the projector in the ballroom started to show some entertaining information.

Fan MeiLi looked at the necklace and was just like everyone else with seeing the beauty of the piece. She was curious about the science behind the light show that the necklace creates but she knew it would be hard to find out unless she could study it for herself. Fan MeiLi was brought out her train of thought with a pull from Zhang Jing.

"What are you doing?" Fan MeiLi asked.

"I want to see it up close! You know I won't have another chance to see such a piece."

"You never know, someone might buy you a piece in the collection."

Zhang Jing just gave a Fan MeiLi a smirk, "You are so funny, now hurry up before the crowd gets so big we can't see anymore."

Fan MeiLi just let Zhang Jing pull her up close while trying hard to bump or push people on their way to the stage. Finally arriving Zhang Jing just let her best friend go and started to take pictures of her and the necklace.

Fan MeiLi just stood and watch her friend but was shocked when she heard a very familiar voice. It was the same voice from the hallway, when she looked behind her she saw a lady with light brown hair and a blue dress. She was shocked to see that it was the same rude lady from the store who demanded she gives her the dress she purchased.

That weird feeling started again and Fan MeiLi knew she had to do something but wasn't sure how to go about it. If her reasoning is correct, this lady is trying to harm someone at the gala with a devious plot, most likely the CEO. She knew he heard the lady in the hallway but he doesn't know the plan, so this lady could have already started without him knowing. Even with that information, she didn't know how to stop this lady or get the CEO a warning.

When she saw the lady in blue start to leave the crowd, Fan MeiLi started to move in her direction without even thinking, and saw she was going toward the back of the room. Standing in a way that wasn't too obvious, she took her phone and recorded the lady giving something to the waiter.

Since most of those attending the gala was focusing on the necklace, no one was bothered by some underhand dealings happening in the back. Hearing footsteps, Fan MeiLi quickly hid her phone and pretend she was looking in her purse. When she lifted her head she saw the lady in blue pass her with a wicked smile on her face.

Now that Fan MeiLi had proof all she had to do was figure out how to get this small video to CEO Wei.
