Chapter 155 - The End...Of Mrs Lu

Chairwoman Lu struggled in the dark as she tried to release the knots that tied her to the chair. She desperately tried to look around for anything that would help her escape but the place was empty of any thing. There was only this chair.. Just what went wrong that the old man had kidnapped her ? Why had they suddenly turned against her? She tried to think if they had somehow discovered that she was still in touch with her brother but then immediately discarded the thought. Whatever the reason, at this moment, she regretted her over confidence that the Yoo's would not harm her. They were after all, one of the most blood thirsty families once in the past. However, she was not too worried because she knew that as soon as her people discovered her missing, they would take out a search and find her at the soonest. A day had already passed since she had been kidnapped Maybe they were already looking for her.. Her eyes glittered with confidence as she thought of this and gav herself some false hope.

Just then a man came in and placed a small paper plate with rice in it, in front of her. She snorted at the pitiful food and the paper plate. They dare not take any risk so they were not even going to give her any utensils. She looked at the food with disdain and said," Take it. I don't want this." Though it had been more than twenty four hours since she had been kidnapped, the old woman had trained her body to sustain hunger for a long period of time. This was because of her childhood training when they were forced to go hungry for longer periods of time.

The man paid her no attention and simply walked to her before untying her hands and unceremoniously dumping the old woman on the ground. Before the old woman could get over her shock, he had already walked out of the chair. Once the door closed behind her, the man opened a panel on the door and said, "Lady Lu, my master has a message for you. The food is right here, if you do not wish to eat it, then it is not a problem, your companions in this room will smell it and come to eat it. He hopes that you will enjoy their company. The rats are really friendly here. You have fifteen minutes to make your decision.

This announcement caused the old woman to widen her eyes and look at the food with loathing. The old man knew her weakness that she was scared to death of rats.. She shook her head at this and tried to talk herself out of the fear but it was useless. Finally, she slowly stood up and slowly walked to the food. Finally, unable to sacrifice her pride, she let out a scream and threw the food against the wall. She was willing to suffer than take this humiliation! The scream worried the man who was guarding outside but he only opened the small panel and peeped in, relieved to find the old woman standing there unharmed. When Lady Lu saw the man, she snorted and turned to him, "Were you worried that I had harmed myself? No need. You can tell your master to stop using there dirty tricks. He doesn't want to kill me. And I don't mind being tortured. So whatever he wants to know, it is better to talk and negotiate. There mind games won't work on me."

The guard once again said nothing and simply closed the panel. This was because, everything the woman said could already be heard by the master. The room that she was being held in was properly under surveillance. Old Lady Lu stood alert in the room, waiting for the dirty trick. She knew that the old man would not have made empty threats and she expected the scurrying and smelly rats to invade her space any minute. She dared not sit on the ground for fear that they would try to climb on her. Elder Yoo observed the scene even as regret invaded his blood for having to do this. She was once like a sister and daughter to him. He did not want to be so ruthless to her but she had left him no option. He needed to know what had happened in the past that had caused all this. Had she really been in cahoots with her brother? Or had she really believed Yu Seok to be dead? And the only way he would be able to extract the truth from her would be when she was out of her mind. He had known that she would not eat the drugged food but he had hoped that he would not have to resort to this. Sighing again and again, he moved away from the cameras and ordered his men, "Release the first batch of rats."

Soon, a few squeaking rats had been let into the room and immediately their beady eyes were spotted by Lady Lu, who stood at the opposite corner from where the food had been spilled. She clenched her hands and locked her legs because she was afraid that she would just keel over from fright. She tried to track the movements of the rats and even dared not breathe for fear of attracting their attention but she was still not able to see them clearly because of the darkness.

Soon, she felt something soft brush against her legs and she started to wipe her legs, but she kept having that feeling again and again. Soon the woman started to scream from fright and as her voice turned hoarse, her breath started to turn short until finally her face turned blue and she broke down, "What do you want to know? Stop torturing me and come out and confront me!"

Elder Yoo was satisfied and ordered his men to pause for a while. The rats were actually robotic and not real. So the men simply stopped the movement of the rats with a remote control. Elder Yoo then turned on the microphone and asked, "Where is my grandson?"

The old woman stilled as soon as she heard the voice and leaned against the wall tiredly. Suddenly the realized that the old man could see her. He has purposely waited for her to break down so that he could get what he wanted. But even as she understood this, she did not understand why he would ask such a question. As the cold sweat beaded on her forehead, she panted heavily and closed her eyes. When she opened them, there was a deep hatred in them and she shouted,"Dead. Your dear grandson is dead, old man."

A wild triumphant light glittered in her eyes as she said this. She genuinely believed that Yoo Seok was dead. This gave the old man Yoo a pause and he pondered how to proceed with the interrogation. He had planned to start by asking her Yu Seok's whereabouts so that she would doubt that they had found him but now..was she really that great an actress.

The old man's eyes narrowed and he asked coldly,"Why did you kill one and rescue the other? Both of you wanted to hurt me. So why leave one and let go of the other?"

This question caused another unexpected reaction in the old woman. Instead of answering she started to laugh maniacally. But soon she answered, " It was actually my plan. You see, of we had killed both your grandsons, you would have been devastated and maybe killed yourself with no reason to live. But by giving you one and taking the other away, we made sure that you would live for your one grandson. We made sure hat you would live with the loss of one and the hell of fear of losing the other one.And out plan worked beautifully, did it not? Tell me old man, was it fun living all these years with the sadness of losing a grandchild. And you even made an oath of protecting your grandson's killer on his own grave.Your poor grandson must have been so deeply hurt..."

Elder Yoo was disgusted with this woman and realized that if it had been true and his grandson had been buried there, finding this deception would have killed him. Just as he was about to order his men to release the real rats in to the room, the woman screamed once again,"Don't you want to know how we chose which grandson of yours to kill? It is a very interesting story. I am sure Yoo Shiro would not have told you about this!!"

Elder Yoo paused this time and looked at the screen as dread tightened his heart. He did not ask anything this time because he knew that the woman would definitely tell him..and she did tell him..And his worst thoughts came true. The one's he refused to believe. His eyes flashed back to the nightmares, Shiro had when he had been rescued and at that moment, Lady Li's shout echoed through the speakers,"Your grandson chose to sacrifice his brother so that he could save himself!"
