Chapter 6: The Recreation

Anika Regio's POV

I was staring at the monument of the town that I don't even know how to describe it. It was gorgeous and ancient that I don't have to say anything. I just felt the emotion that was coming through me when I was staring at the monument.

"You know, the locals believe that this island was the birthplace of Aphrodite, The Goddess of Love in Ancient Greece. Do you know about her myth?" Damien asked me as I was looking at him. He was staring at me.

"Well, I learned the Roman version of it, Venus I think the name, right?" I asked him as he nodded.

"Where you from Italy?" He asked. I nodded. "I thought so. Here on the island, we keep the story of Aphrodite, or Venus as you prefer, to be one of the sacred stories among others," he said before I turned to look at him.

"Others?" I asked him as he smiled at me. We walked along with the ruins before he answers my question.

"Yes, others. Do you know anything about the island's myth or legend, Anika?" He asked me as I felt warm with my name on his mouth. I cannot believe that it felt like a natural thing for him to say my name so casually.

"Well, no. I'm not much a reader. I was more like viewing things kind of person," I said as I was looking at the ruins that were on the sight. Damien laughed at my honesty.

"It seems that I need to educate you then. Come to my storytelling tonight at Riganato at 9 PM. Maybe you will find it interesting to hear the stories and legends of the island," Damien said as I was staring at him.

"You don't want to tell me now?" I asked him. He shook his handsome head. His brunette hair was shining as his grey eyes were glistening in the evening light.

"Come on. You need to come and I promise that you will have the front seat," he said as I was narrowing my eyes at him.

"And why should I go with you? I don't even know where is this Riganato restaurant anyway," I reasoned with him as he smiled at me. I cannot take it anymore. He was too charming for me. Even the male models were not this charming with me.

"Well, if I said that I wanted to go on a date with you tonight, how would you say to me?" He asked as I blinked at him. He was asking me out? On a date?

How my dreams come true!

I blinked a few times before I was staring around the ruins. I smiled before I turned to look into his eyes. He was sincere and I think that would be a good sign, right? I opened my mouth to answer but I was speechless.

Is this going on right now?

"Just answer me this? Do you think that I would be a fling to you? Because I don't do one-night stand," I said bluntly before Damien smiled and took my hands before he kissed the knuckles.

"And if I say that I was trying to keep her on the island forever?" He said as my heartbeat was beating fucking fast. I don't know what to say to that but I know deep in my heart what my answer was.

"Fine. I will come to your storytelling show and I hope that I will get the front seat. If you did well, I will consider extending my vacation," I said to him before he smiled with his perfectly lined teeth.

"You have no idea how much that answer made my day," he said as he hugged me. He nuzzled my neck. If anyone was trying to nuzzle my neck, I would scream but with Damien, it was all safe and sound. And I know deep in my heart, he would hold a special place in my life.

Damien sent me to the hotel for me to get ready for our date tonight. I don't know that I would be this excited to have a date. Maybe because I never been to one. I was looking at my clothes and decided to wear a violet dress to compliment my eyes and my hair. I think Damien would appreciate that look.

I went to put on my makeup as I was staring at the vanity mirror before I smiled with satisfaction. I think I will be the killer of his life. I giggled at the thought of Damien being possessive of me tonight. Maybe I should be using that method after all. A knock interrupted my daydreaming.

"Coming!" I said before I went to put on my coat. I opened the door and I was speechless. Damien cleaned up good like he was wearing his white dress shirt with black pants. He even has shiny shoes.

"You're ready?" He asked me as I was still checking him out. I blinked a few times before I was looking at the hand that he offered to me. I took it.

"Yes, let's go," I said as I closed the door and we were out of the hotel to the Riganato.

We arrived in time for Damien to say hello to the host and he introduced me in Greek. I don't know what he was talking about but it has to do with agapi mou word. I hope it was a good thing.

"Come on. My host will show you to the front seat," he whispered to me before I was following the host and I sat at the table that was reserved to VIPs. Am I one of them?

Then the lights were shut down and I heard some clapping before Damien was up on the stage. He was confident and in his character as he was greeting the audience and listeners. I can see that he loved to talk and share his knowledge with people. Then, he started the story.

"Well, yes. Werewolves. Do you think they exist in this world?" He asked the audience. Everyone was listening attentively to him.

"I, for one, believe in them. They are hiding from us, humans, right under our noses. But it was not all that. The legend said that this island was once covered with them. This was their first base during Ancient Greece and still is," he said before he walked on the stage.

"But what happened to them? Are they alive? Are they dead for almost a decade or more? Who knows what the stories of the locals said to you guys, the tourists. But seeing you guys are here, you want to know the story even more," Damien said. He smiled before he looked at me.

"Since Ancient Greece, Alexander the Great has made it his mission to kill these supernaturals because he knows that it was a threat to his growing empire. The werewolves turned to this island to hide but Alexander the Great find them and killed them on sight. How to spot a werewolf?" He asked before someone answered.

"Yes?"

"They changed into wolves, I supposed?" The child said before everyone laughed. Damien smiled.

"Not quite. You see, Alexander believed that the clan will have something in common. Do you guys know what it was?" He asked and silence filled the room.

"Well, it stated that people with grey eyes are one of them. They also have to be brunette but they did not specify how much of the contrast to be related to the Lycanthrope. But one thing for sure, they must live on this island for their whole life," Damien said before he regarded me.

"But I don't think they all stayed. Some might explore the world and who knows, one day, their daughters or sons would come back here because the calling was too much," Damien said with a smirk that shivered my whole body.

How did he know I was visiting my dad's ancestral home?
