Chapter 2: The Recluse

Present Day

Karisa Papadopoulus' POV

I was looking for Sam as I heard the news from the town people that they saw Sam's description as I was running to the church. I cannot believe it! She was getting married and I was not invited. The nerve of a woman!

I opened the door as I was looking at the married couple and they were happy. My heart swelled for them but I need to confront the one woman that I called my friend.

"There you are! I have been looking over for you," I said as I was looking at the glistening rings on Sam's fingers. Damn, I missed the ceremony already.

"Karisa, what is it? Why are you in a hurry to see me?" She asked me as she was gripping my hands. I was trying to catch my breath before I was looking at her.

"The folks, your folks, have been talking about you running away and disappeared. I don't know what to say but I never thought that I would see you in this part of the town. They are still superstitious about you guys," I said as I was recalling all the talk that Sam has shared with me and why I was so persistent to be a part of her life.

"You guys?" Sam's new husband asked her before Sam was looking at the ground. "You told her about us?" He added before Sam was smiling sheepishly at her husband. I know I have to explain before her husband was making some accusations to Sam.

"Doesn't matter. I know because my father was dealing with the pack about certain lumber. Duh, I was his daughter, of course I know about you guys," I said as I was rolling my eyes at her husband. Sam scoffed at me.

"Great, just great. And I have to say about this to Caleb and not to mention, your brother," Sam's husband said before she was glaring at him. She shook her head before she was looking at me.

"Don't mind him. He was a little crazy after one month," she said as I was nodding at her before I was looking warily at her husband.

"So, tell us what are you searching for me for?" Sam asked me as I was remembering the news that I heard when I was in town.

"Right, I heard there was a celebration for the new member of the pack, I think the tour guide got married, and right now they were having some celebration. And I think you should announce the news to them," I said as I was rolling my eyes at her.

"About what?" Sam asked me. I swear, after she disappeared and got married, Sam's IQ was a little slow.

"Duh, your wedding of course," I said before we were running toward the other celebration that was happening in the town.

I was walking behind the new couple when they were making their presence known. I slipped into the reception without no one knows as I was thirsty as shit. I was looking for water when I saw a bottle on the table. I went to the table and opened the water before I drained in one gulp.

It was heaven.

"You son of a bitch!"

I heard the commotion before someone was punching Sam's new husband in his face. If I don't know any better, it was Sebastian who was Sam's brother. I can see why he was pissed off. His sister went away and came back married to someone. I think this werewolf drama was getting better and better.

"I don't think this day would get like this," I heard someone commented and when I turned to look, it was the bride. I smiled at her.

"I know, this is much better than a soap opera," I said as I was looking at her. She turned to look at me as her violet eyes were looking at me. She smiled at me.

"I believe we never met before. I'm Anika," she said as I was taking her hand and shook it.

"Karisa,"

"So, is this how my life will be right now?" She asked me as I was looking at the commotion of Sebastian and Sam's husband,

"At least you're entertained. So, I was wondering what did you do before coming here?" I asked the new bride as she was looking at the fight with so much amusement as I did.

"I was a model but I think I might continue to do that. But I cannot get into with my agent from Italy," Anika said as I was nodding at her.

"I think it was the signal here. We don't get enough strength here when you were close to the Paphos' forest. It would be much clearer if you're in town," I said as I have known all the corners of the town for the perfect internet connection.

"If you're free sometime, I can show you around," I said as Anika laughed. I smiled at her.

"That would be wonderful. I don't know anyone, except for my husband, of course," she said as I was smiling at her before nodding.

"Of course," I said before we were staring at the commotion again. It has died out as Sebastian was making his way out of here.

Then, I followed him.

Sebastian Lykos' POV

I was pissed beyond reason as I was looking at my sister with that slacker. How can an Ultima's sister mate to an Omega? That was denounced by our superior!

"I'm sorry. I just…I cannot accept him…yet. Maybe some alone time will help me," I said as I was walking back into the forest. I need to calm down before I was losing more control that I have not to rip Zack apart.

"Brother, where are you going?" Sam asked me as I was shaking my head and smiled weakly at her. I turned and I was running through the woods as I was looking for something to get my mind off.

And then, it hit me. I might as well go for a swim then.

Not that I was angry with Zack. It was that I saw Karisa, who was behind them, was coming into the view. It has been a fucking month without her being in my mind.

I think I need to get to my sanctuary now.

I was running through the forest that I have known as the back of my hand. I was looking at the lake that was coming in the view before I was breathing hard, stopping on the edge of the lake. I sighed.

'So much for my self-control,' I said to my wolf before I was looking at the calm water. I wanted to get inside and maybe do some laps to weaken my muscle and this anger to claim and ravish my mate.

But she's a human.

Such heaven for me and myself right now that I don't know I was being followed.
