14 I'sm Disappointed

This was a spine chilling question for Aliya. She gathered courage to reply.

"Sir it was my dream to work there. Due to some problems I had to join this company. It's not the case that I didn't liked this workplace but FASHION AND THE CITY is my dream. I've worked hard for several years just to have a job there. There's nothing to avenge."

"Don't be tensed. I understand."

He called the manager to cancel the contract with Aliya. Aliya was speechless. She never expected that her former boss would be so calm.

"Sir is it really ok?"

"What can I say? You've disappointed me. But I can't do anything. Doing something wrong against FASHION AND THE CITY is not my choice."

Aliya was confused whether to reply or not. It was wrong for her to expect that her boss won't say anything. Aliya kept quite. She saw the manager cancelling her contract in front of her. She just bowed her head all the time not saying a word. She was feeling guilty.

"Don't continue to take tension about what I'll think. You should move on now. Just be honest at your work. You have many more things to come. I forgive you." Mr.Verma said those calming words noticing her expressions.

"I'm sorry sir. And thank you to forgive me. I promise I'll return this favour to you in future."

"Ok. You may leave now."

"Thank you sir."

Saying this she left the office. Even if Mr.Verma forgave her, she still had the guilt. So she just escaped the stares in office and ran back to her ex's office.

FASHION AND THE CITY

4 PM

Aliya reached her new office. Mr.Gera was in a good mood.As soon as he saw her, he went ahead to talk to her.

"Aliya, what happened there?"

"Everything is fine now. He was disappointed but still he forgave me."

"Oh! Unbelievable. It takes a lot of courage to do that."

"That's right. I thought I won't be able to handle the situation but he understood my situation. He knew that I was on the least fault. Being forced by such a big company..... ugh.. I mean .....

"Hmmm... it's ok. No need of any explanation."

After a two minutes awkward silence, they both let out a laugh. Both were laughing for a long time until Mr.Gera controlled his laugh and spoke

"Ok, let's stop for now. So I think you're familiar with the work you have to do."

"Yes, of course."

"Okay. So boss has instructed you to start your work tomorrow."

"Oh! That means I can go home now?"

"Yes, but you have to do a task and then go."

"Which task?"

"You have to improvise our canteen menu. Just go in the canteen downstairs and do the work."

"That's a weird job."

"I had also said the same but he told that you have a good knowledge about nutritious food. So he assigned you this task."

"Ok."

They went to their respective cabins. Aliya was giggling in her cabin. As she knew why Rishi had asked her to do the job. After the past incident, he surely came to know about her diet. She went downstairs. She saw the canteen. Although it was clean and neat, the menu was ditto same as the previous company. So she knew what to throw out from the menu and what to add. Her menu was ready. But Mr.Gera hadn't told her where to submit. So she went to Rishi's cabin to show her menu.

"Sir, may I come in."

"Yes."

"Sir you had assigned me this task. I've completed it. But I didn't knew where to submit so I came here. I hope I didn't disturbed you."

"You're the only one who has the right to disturb me."

"Pardon. I didn't hear what you said."

"Nothing. Keep the menu on the table. I'll send it to our cook."

"Ok."

Aliya left the cabin. There was so much for Rishi to say but he couldn't. After their last conversation, where Aliya indirectly warned him not to try her, he didn't have courage to speak to him except their work. Of course, he knew that Aliya suffered a lot due to him. But there was something as worse as that which happened to him too in his past. That's what changed him from a playboy to just a strict boss. It made him respect females. Something which Aliya was unaware of.
