Chapter 32 – Part 1

“What? I’m just going out for a short while.”

“No. And it’s obvious. You’re going to meet up with Frey.”

“Uta said that?”

“Uta? No. Don’t you think I wouldn’t notice that you’re looking forward to meeting Frey? I don’t allow it!”

He shook his head while whining like a child and his face looked disgusted.

“Aren’t you just overreacting?”

“What is? I just adore Noonim.”

“I guess you couldn’t see my expression just now.”

“I can’t see it even if I see it.”

What does he mean?

I tried to avoid him by blocking the door tightly, but he still managed to block me anywhere I went. I even slapped him in the arm.

“Ah, What’s wrong with you! Get out of my way!”

“Noonim, you are not permitted to go outside for the time being.”

“Does it make sense that I am not permitted out of the blue, without prior notice?”

It was absurd, for someone like me who only remained at home. I then paused and looked at Lisandro.

It was suspicious to see Lisandro making eye contact.

When he comes out stopping me like that, it only means there is something that he doesn’t want me to know. On top of that, there’s the suspicious Uta.

I crossed my arms and stood perversely, looking up at him.

“What, spill it.”

“What.”

“Or do you want me to figure it out myself?”

I heard a knock just in time.

“Princess. The carriage is ready. You just need to come up before Master Lisandro comes!”

Lisandro’s eyebrow twitched.

Oops.

Before Lisandro started to get sulky and whine, I hurriedly sent Uta back and demanded.

“What is it?”

“Huh?”

“Tell me why I cannot go outside.”

“. . . . .”

As soon as the subject quickly changed, Lisandro looked me straight in the eye. The playfulness on his stiff face had long since disappeared.

There had only been once when he was like this, maybe.

It was during the time I used to skip classes whenever the mood took me and did not cultivate my holy powers.

There were harsh rumors about me.

People were delighted with the appearance of a Saint after seventy years, so much so that they even held a festival to commemorate, however, because the Saint’s powers and her performance in school were lacking, their eyes on her soon looked with disdain.

However, because she is the princess of the Rohelio family, they cannot mistreat her.

All they could do is chew me like a snack while drinking alcohol, even after covering the rumors around the temple.

Rather, the nobles were silent. For they didn’t want to be associated with the Rohelio family.

Even if I was being insulted, or dishonorably removed as a Saint, I am still the princess of the Rohelio family.

As long as our family didn’t fall to ruin, my standing within the aristocracy wouldn’t diminish.

Anyway, even then, he brought me back to the mansion and never allowed me to go outside.

So then again this time around too, there must be something bad about me circulating around.

It’s obvious the reason he is acting like this is because of me.

I crossed my arms and stood perversely, glaring at him.

“I’m never going to tell you.”

“What?”

For him to not let me go outside means there were already rumors spreading about me.

“What is it about this time? Last time, I heard it was about my negligence.”

“I’m going to rip off their heads.”

Reciting those brutal details, he seemed ready to run out to find and kill the person at any moment the person who spread the rumors.

I grabbed his big forearm.

“…Noonim, why are your hands so small?”

“Die.”

“Can’t you speak modestly?!”

I find his teary sky blue eyes cute, but as for his face, no, so I shuddered at the incongruity.

“What, do you think I am out of my mind this time?”

“Even if you find it frustrating, let it go.”

The mood soon changed and I called to him firmly.

“Lisandro.”

“Noonim.”

He let out a long sigh, not backing down an inch.

“Tell me. Can’t I just sneak out?”

Of course this will soon fail. If I had just grabbed Mother’s hand, I wouldn’t have to sneak out like this.

Ah, I should’ve asked Mother earlier!

I sighed inwardly at the very good plan that suddenly came to my mind.

“I will not be shocked. Because I’ve been used to this since I was young.”

“And you think that’s a good thing? Anyway, I don’t like it. Until this gets sorted out…”

The end of his speech, which had been ruffled with annoyance, was blurred.

It was because a messenger bird flew through the window and sat gently on my shoulder.

It was a note from the Temple. Lisandro quickly reached out and I slapped the back of his hand.

“That hurts!”

I glared at Lisandro, who was clasping the back of his hand and screaming.

As I neared closer, like a dog, he gently lowered his tail as I shot a glance at the back of his hand, indicating I was not yet finished with him.

Lisandro let out a long sigh and rubbed his face.

I pulled out the paper from the messenger bird’s neck and unfolded it.

[Baby Saint.

I am afraid that the rumor may have hurt my heart.

No matter how many rumors come by, and no matter how much you always say it’s okay, this rumor has gone too far to worry about.

If Baby Saint wishes so, you may not come to the Temple for the time being.

Please hold on to your heart.

We are sorry for our inability to stop the rumors and catch whoever did it.

We will do our utmost best to subdue the rumors as soon as possible.

May the blessings of L’Aquila be with you on your way, Baby Saint.

PS. We have sent Sir Verdo to escort Baby Saint. We would appreciate it if you could inform us of your preferred time.]

Even in the current situation, my cheeks blushed as I remembered the face of the grandfather who called me Baby Saint.

The letter written in neat handwriting was full of concern.

I wasn’t that hurt because I thought the rumors were nothing serious, but seeing that they even wrote a letter, I was wrong.

No details about the rumor were enclosed, but I folded the paper and wrote a reply, pretending to be casual.

As usual, the reply I wrote back was ‘It’s okay, don’t worry.’ I said that anytime is feasible for me except mornings.

I opened my mouth calmly and softly as if there were even details of the rumors written in the letter.

“Does this rumor justify me being banned from going out? This overprotectiveness is too much, even in the Temple.”
