Chapter 3: The Stranger

Wyatt Jones' POV

I was smiling as I saw that pleasure has been on Catherine's face. She smiled as I was playing with her nubbin while she was asleep. I loved to look at that face again but I know that the dawn was coming and she will be up soon.

I got out of the bed as I felt her hand was reaching for mine. I smiled as I was chuckling lowly. Even in her dream, she was still seeking me. I can only say that it will be my great pleasure to be with her. But I have to come clean with her first before we can push our relationship further.

I went out of the bed as I made my way to the kitchen. I know that Catherine only has her best interest for me but I was still a human. And human needs to eat human food. I opened the fridge and I saw that she had a lot of veggies. I don't even know why humans like it.

I grimaced before I spotted milk in a carton. I took it from the fridge and I made my way to get the glass that I saw Catherine stored them earlier. I was happy that I finally get something rich like milk. I prefer to have meat but this will do for now.

I drank the milk before I washed the glass and set everything just the way she put. I don't want her to think that there was a burglar that was lurking around when it was her cat just running around naked in his physical form. I think she might appreciate my human body.

I heard the alarm and so it was time for me to let my cat run wild. I sighed before I looked at the bedroom door as I slowly changed and my height will be less than what I used to.

Catherine Smith's POV

I put off the alarm as I was stretching on the bed. I don't know why but I felt more relaxed than ever. I was looking at the window where some of the dawn light was coming on the sky. I smiled before I saw Winky was on the bed, staring at me.

"Hello, Winky. How do you sleep?" I asked her as she meowed at me. I smiled at her before I went out of the bed and made my way to the bathroom. Winky followed me and I don't mind the company.

She jumped onto the counter as I was putting some toothpaste onto my toothbrush and she just stared at me. I don't think the cat would love to sit and stare at their master but I guessed Winky was unusual. Like her eyes, sea-green. They were beautiful.

"So, you're just going to sit and stare at me, do you?" I asked her. No answer. Of course, she would not answer me as she was an animal. I sighed as I was wetting my toothbrush before I brushed my teeth. She was silent as I was doing my morning routine. After washing my toothbrush, I was washing my face as I was holding my hair back by the ponytail that I tied on my hair.

It was much easier for me to work on my routine than just let my hair running wild. I was flossing some of my teeth before I was staring at the mirror as I was prepping to pep talk myself on the first day at my work.

"Alright, Smith. You can do this. You are born for this purpose and you will do whatever it takes to make sure that the children will happy. Happy children, happy life," I said as I was nodding at myself before I took my towel and hop in for a quick shower. I don't wash my hair as I just washed it last night.

After I stepped out of the shower, Winky was still there as she was looking at me without blinking. I was wrapping my towel on my naked body before I made my way to her.

"I think you will be staring at the door when I was gone to work. Not that I don't trust you but you have no interest in the furniture like another cat. Oh well, I love you even more," I said before she purred at me. I smiled before I kissed her nose and mouth again as I made my way to the wardrobe and put on my usual blouse and jeans before I was French braiding my hair for my work.

"Now, be a good girl and I will see you later," I said as I was scratching her head before I went out of the door and I was off to work after I locked the door.

The children were relentless. I don't know why I should be tired but I don't. I was happy and I was excited to make sure that the children will be having the best day at their daycare. I don't know what I was doing until I saw the face of the children when I was reading for them.

They were so adorable!

And right now, it was the end of my shift when I went to have a walk outside, near the daycare as well as I was searching for something to eat. I know that I should save my money but I was playing with ear right now. The money will be produced if I stay for a month at the daycare.

I was looking at the menu when I was stepping backward and I felt like I was stepping onto someone's foot.

"Oh my God! I am so sorry. I don't know you were there," I said in Greek as I know the locals don't speak English as much.

"No, it's okay. My bad anyway," the stranger answered in English and I think my insides were turning. What the hell was that reaction? I turned to look at the stranger that has a sultry voice and when I took in his appearance, my breath stuck in my throat.

He was magnificent. With his silken brown hair that was begging for me to run my fingers with to his high cheekbones and his full, kissable lips. I was drawn to him but the most prominent feature was his eyes. They were sea-green and I think I loved to look into that orbs, forever lost in it.

"I think it's your turn to order, Miss," he said as I snapped back to reality. I was staring around where I was before my face was burning right now.

I took a seat at the table as I was putting my number on the table. I was turning around to see that lunchtime was not as busy as dinner, even though dinner was more expensive than lunch.

"Mind if I seat with you?" The stranger that I embarrassed myself with was staring at me with his eyes that I wanted so much for mine.

"Yeah, sure. Go ahead," I said bluntly as I don't know why I was allowing him to be with me right now. And now, I will be staring at those orbs more than I should. I lowered my gaze as I was playing with my hands.

"So, are you a tourist or are you a citizen here?" He asked me as I turned to look at his face. He was showing interest in me as I don't usually find men would be talking to me. I smiled at him before I was staring at the patrons of the restaurant.

"I just work here for a year as my gap year from my studies. I just finished my degree and I have always been wanting to come here so I work at the daycare for a year," I said, surprised at myself for wanting to share that information with this stranger. Not that he would care or anything.

"Well, that was very nice of you. So what's your major?" He asked me as he was staring at me. I was unable to tear my eyes from his.

"Business Administration but I fear that was my parents' wish, not mind,"

"So, what is your passion?" He asked as I was thinking about how to answer it.

"Hmm, I don't know but I do love children so maybe that's my true passion truly lies," I said before the stranger was smiling and my heart skipped a beat.
