Chapter 2: The Breakfast

Joanna Jones' POV

I was grunting and groaning as I felt the memory of last night was coming into my dreams. I was running as my father was chasing me down with his dogs. Even though he was a cat shifter, he was not afraid of the dogs like I did.

I was terrified of them.

I was tossing and turning as I wanted to get away from him as far as I could. I was huffing and breathing heavily as I was running for my life. I did not know that I was screaming in my sleep until warm hands were steadying me up.

"Wake up, lady. You're dreaming!" The voice said as I was opening my eyes and the light was blinding my sensitive eyes. I grunted before I was shielding myself as I was trying to make sure that I will not be blinded by the lights. I groaned.

"Are you okay? You were screaming and I don't think you were trying to get away from me," the voice said with amusement as I was looking up from my hands as my eyes adjusted to the lights. I was blinking a few times before I was staring into the emerald orbs that I was seeing last night.

His auburn hair.

His lean, muscular body.

His well-muscled thighs.

I was moving away from him as my back was hitting the headboard of the bed. I was looking around and I just realized I was not in my apartment. Where was I? I hope I was not too drunk that I would end up with someone last night.

Then I saw the bed.

I was being dressed in my underwear as the stranger was fully clothed. I was pulling the duvet to my chin as I was trying to cover me up. The stranger chuckled. I glared at him.

"Here, if you don't want to be awkward, I have to get your dress a dry clean since you have vomit all over it," he said as he was holding the dress that I wore last night on the hangar before he was putting it to the wardrobe that was beside the bed.

"I let you get clean up. After you finish, you can join me for breakfast," he said before he left me to my device. I was looking around before I saw the door that leads to the bathroom, I think.

I got out of bed and tiptoeing to the bathroom. It was luxurious but I don't have time to dwell on the matter. I have to get out of here. And fast. I was washing my face as the makeup did not do justice to my face.

I would not be horrified if the man thinks I was a ghost or something. It was a hot mess! I took the clean towel and wiped out everything until I was bare. Now, I felt refreshed before I was taking a toothbrush that was not used and brushed my teeth. Now I felt like a human.

I was making my way to the wardrobe after my quick shower and I was holding the dress to my body before the door was opened again. I shrieked before I was turning to look at the stranger that was peeking from the door.

"Are you ready? The food is getting cold," he said as he smiled at me. I nodded at him before he went out again and I sighed a relief. I was looking around the bedroom before I was putting on my dress.

I went outside the room as I was peeking through the door. That stranger was putting the food on the table as I was opening the door even wider and I walked out of the room.

"Ah, you're here," he said as I was smiling at him. He pulled the chair for me and I was taking the offered seat. I was looking at the omelet, some sausages, and bacon. My mouth watered from the sight and those magnificent smell.

"Bon Appetite. I hope it was to your liking," he said as I nodded at him. I don't think I need to speak up since I don't think my throat was moist enough to speak.

"Here, you must be thirsty. I know I am whenever I got drunk last night," he said as he was handing me a glass of water, which I drank in seconds. I was relieved before I put the glass on the table. I was eyeing the food before the stranger was chuckling.

"Don't be shy. Just eat what do you want. If you want more, I can order more," he said as I was nodding, and then, I dug in the food as I had not eaten in 24 hours. I don't have any money and I was thankful that this kind stranger was giving me food.

"Hmm, so good," I moaned before I was eating, even more, not knowing that the stranger was looking at me with an intense gaze.

I was too dumbfounded to look away from this blonde woman that was pigging out the food right now. I was smiling before I was sipping on my orange juice. I smiled as I never had any woman that was in my presence will be like some kind of feral animal.

"Easy, you have all the food for yourself," I said as I was picking up some omelet and I was looking at her. She was smiling before her hands were shoving even more food and I was chuckling at her.

After we have finally reached our maximum capacity to eat, the blondie was burping before she closed her mouth with her hands. I was laughing before I dabbed my mouth with a napkin. I was looking at her as I was clearing my throat.

"So, now that we have gotten our stomach filled out, why don't we start with introducing ourselves since last night was a disaster. My name is Ben. And you are?" I asked her as she was sipping on the orange juice before she cleared her throat.

"I'm Joanna. Nice to meet you. And thank you for saving me last night. I must say I never got drunk like that," she said as she was blushing at her statement. I smiled before I was getting up from the table. Joanna was looking at me as if I was about to jump her.

"So, for a thank on not letting you go home to a stranger, shall your tour with me around the city?" I asked her as she was looking warily at me.

"And what makes you think that you are better than the others?" She asked as I was leaning forward to her. She sucked in her breath as I was inhaling her sweet scent. Peony and Blood Orange. I think I have found my favorite smell now.

"Because, Joanna," I said as I was tucking her hair behind her ear. She was looking at me before she was focusing on my lips. I smiled charmingly at her.

"I am not like the other guys. I have standards when it comes to a woman that I wanted to share my bed with," I said as Joanna was gazing into my eyes then. I can see that her eyes were angry but she smiled sweetly at me.

"Well then, I cannot let that happen. I'm sure your women will be more sophisticated than me while I was eating like a pig just now," she said as she was standing up and she was coming shortly to my chin. I have to look down to gaze into her blue eyes.

Blue like the ocean.

"So, are you consent to show me around?" I asked her as she shrugged.

"I don't see why not. Besides," she said as she was looking into my eyes with her intense blue orbs.

"You have standards with the women that you shared your bed with and I know for sure that I was not in that category after all,"

Ouch.

"Not to brag but you're not my type anyway, so rest assure, sir, I will not invite you into my bed after all," the blondie said as my ego was bursting into tiny pieces. She smirked as she was sashaying out of the room. I think I might have to get my ego in check for this blondie will pay for what she said.
