Chapter 7: The Tourist

Joanna Jones' POV

I was looking around the town as it was Saturday and there was a farmer's market that was happening around here. I was happy to know that I was looking at the familiar faces that I have frequent the market every weekend.

"Hey Joanna, do you want to try this?"

"Hey, Joanna! Who's that hunk with you? Is he taken?"

"Hey Joanna, how's my son in the daycare?"

And of course, Ben was being ignorant again. They all spoke in Greek and I know for a fact that he did not have a clue of what was going on around him.

"So, this is what you called a farmer's market in Cyprus, correct?" He said as he was eyeing the produces that were on display. He has this lazy smile on his lips that I never saw before. I was amazed before one of the vendors was speaking to him.

It was a beautiful young woman.

"Seeing anything that you like, sir?" She asked before Ben was arching his eyebrows at her. She laughed as she was tucking her hair behind her ears.

"You don't speak Greek, yes?"

"Indeed, I am not, fair maiden. Say what is your name?" Ben said with his smooth talk. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Dana,"

"Dana. What a lovely name. Say, Dana, what are all these?" Ben asked as I was looking at the crystals that can come from one place that I know in this area.

From Alepoù trade.

I tsk-ed as Ben was being oblivious in his flirting and Dana was flirting with him as well. I felt my cat was ready to scratch her perfect face before I saw the marking of a shifter.

She was one of my kind. Only different species.

I was relieved to know that she was a shifter, which means she had to find her mate. But could it be that Ben was her mate since I was not him as mine?

I cleared my throat before Ben was looking at me. I glared at him before I smiled at the young woman.

"I think we saw enough," I said in English as I was pulling Ben away. He protested as Dana was amused with our interaction with each other.

"Is he yours?" Dana asked in Greek as I turned sharply to her. I bared my teeth to her.

"He's mine," I growled before Dana was putting up her hands as a surrender.

"I know, I can smell it from far away that he's yours. Jeez, I think you need good rutting so that you will not be this tense," Dana said as she was amused by my reaction.

Yeah, I think that would be a good idea too. It has been 5 fucking long years without someone. I mean, not that I fucked anyone else, but I don't take that chance when I can if I wanted to.

"Anyway, thanks for stopping by," Dana said in English before we were out of there. This was not the best Saturday of my life.

I was a ticking time bomb that was ready to explode because one man was making me go insane with need.

I was holding said man as I was dragging him away from the farmer's market and I was fuming with anger before we stopped to take a breather. I was still holding the said man as I was looking around the area for some cover so that I can talk personally to this man about the rules of today's outing.

"Can we just stop for a minute? I don't think that I can breathe if you pull me like this," Ben said as he was leaning against the wall that we stopped from the farmer's market. I looked at the watch and it was 11 AM. it was time for brunch but I don't think Ben would like that idea.

"Do you need another minute? Jeez, for someone that looked fit, you sure don't have a lot of stamina. I wondered how the women that shared your bed feel when they found out that you can even last for long enough to go another round," I said with amusement. I don't even know why I was comparing his stamina with what he can do in the bedroom.

What is wrong with me?!

Ben chuckled before he was leaning against the wall. He turned to look at me before he smirked at me.

"I see that you are a curious little thing, Ms. Jones," he said as I was rolling my eyes at him. Not that I don't like this side of him, the playful one that loved to beat around the bushes with me, forgetting that I just inserted a sexual innuendo at him.

"But you will never know how much curious I was," I said as I was smirking at him. His smirk widened before he was leaning closer. I did not move from my spot before he was whispering to me, his hot breath was on my lips.

"Ah, but you see. I have something that will make sure you wanted to know all the things that I know about you, Joanna," he said before his green eyes were on me. I looked into it before Ben smirked.

"Now, aren't you curious to know what it was?" He said before he was leaning away and he walked around the block. I was mesmerized by his eyes that I did not notice that he was walking away from me. I gritted my teeth before I was running toward him.

"Wait up! You don't even know where to go anyway," I said before he turned as he was walking backward. He spread his arms wide.

"It seems to me that I do know where I was going but I will not tell you where," he said as he was smiling at me. I felt my heart was soaring with this moment of us together. It reminded me of that moment 5 years ago when we did not know each other that well and just lived in the moment.

I was walking up to him before he stopped in front of the brunch restaurant that was pretty famous in Nicosia. I was arching my eyebrow at him before he smirked. He pulled my hand and we were inside the restaurant.

I was looking at the interior design of the restaurant while Ben was asking for his reservation here. I did not know that he reserved for his table. I was being guided by him before Ben pulled the chair out for me and I was sitting on it before Ben settled in front of me.

We were handed the menu and Ben was making all the orders. I was surprised that he knows what to order that was considered the best in this restaurant. I must say that I was underestimated him even more.

"I did not know that you know this place," I said as I was sipping on the wine that Ben chose that went well with the meal that we just ate. He smirked as he was twirling the wine in his glass before his eyes were on me.

"If I told you that I have the whole day planned, what would you say to that?" Ben asked me as he was sipping the wine. His eyes were locking with mine over the rim of the glass. I gulped before I felt the intensity of his gaze.

"What will be the main event then?" I asked him before he put the glass down and regarded me.

"You," he said before I blushed. I cleared my throat before I was sipping on the wine again.

"You and everything that you wanted to do," Ben said as he was leaning closer to the table.

"Okay," I nodded at him as his smile widened.
