Chapter 14：Secrecy

The glass shatters and I do my best to control my temper and the beast. I watch her disappear but knowing I can find her whenever I want makes it easier. The wind blows in through the broken glass and I sigh. I try to turn the lights on but find that nothing is responding.

I smile as I make my way upstairs. As I reach the top floor the lights turn back on and I hear a number of clicks as the locks in the house unlock. She said they were one in the same.. what did she mean by that? I reach the room and open the door to a military style man tied to a large chair.

He was contracted to kill the hacker known as Silent and I knew exactly who that was... I wasn't going to let this guy touch a single hair of hers. Parker and Logan were both waiting in the room and both gave me a questioning look. I wave them off and turn to the man tied up.

My smile grows and he shrinks back... "Who are your informants?" I ask walking around the man in circles. "They..they don't even tell me who they are.. I just pay for the info.." The man says nervously and I tsk. "How unfortunate for you... maybe you'll remember if we help you?" Parker pulls out a large pair of pliers and the man begins to sweat.

"What do you mean? I told you everything I know.. I even followed your rules and notified you when I entered the City.. why are you doing this?" The man was now struggling against the ties holding him but it did nothing to help. I sigh and come to a stop in front of the man... I lean down so we are face to face and feel my black hair fall across my eyes.

"The Hacker you seek to kill belongs to me and anyone who tries to touch Silent.. will die by my hands. The only reason I'm telling you this is because you will not leave this room alive but you do have an option on how you die.. tell me everything and I will kill you quickly.. lie to me and your death will even haunt you in your next life."

The man's face lost all color as he finally understood the position he was in.. He looked at the man in front of him and shuddered.. he was a seasoned assassin but the man in front of him nearly had him pissing his pants... his eyes were so black but it looked as if something else was in there.

The assassin swallowed hard as he tried to think of a way out of this. "Looks like you're choosing the hard way.." Alec says with a dark smile and the room's temp feels as if it dropped several degrees. The assassin begins to shake as he says "Wait! Please.. please.. I didn't know the Hacker was working for you... I will leave.. I won't say a word!"

Alec's smile grows as he leans closer to the assassin and stops at his ear. He says "Silent doesn't work for me.. She's my woman.." The assassin closes his eyes and knows that today was his day to die... Alec leans back and looks at the assassin and pats his shoulder before nodding to Parker.

Alec turns and walks out the door and as the door shuts the screams of the assassin begin. Alec smiles and makes his way to his office. He opens the door to find Ace and Trigger at multiple computer screens. "So? Did you find anything?" He asks and the two men look at him with despair.

"This isn't normal.. I don't know what she's running but the speed is inhuman.. I didn't even see her coming.. nothing and now the computers are fried. This... I've never seen anything like this." Trigger says clearly upset but also excited. "I want to meet her in person.. I need to know how she does it."

Alec frowns at Trigger but ignores the man and turns to Ace. "I want any and all information on Silent and I want you to run a name.. Maya.. I want everything you find." Ace cringes but nods. It wasn't much to go off of so it would take a long time but he'd do it. He'd do anything Alec told him to. Whoever this woman was... she was in trouble now... I've never seen him like this before.
