Chapter 68：Fighting With Monsters

The man yells and drops me and I use the opportunity to roll away. Chip and I had made adjustments to the suit when we noticed it didn't do much to Alec the last time. This time seemed to be effective as the man visibly felt it.

I stand on shaky legs and pull off the necklace around my neck. I thought about pulling out my dual blades but if bullets didn't stop this beast, knives definitely wouldn't. I fling the necklace and watch with delight when it begins to activate.

The necklace grows in length and becomes sharper as electricity begins running down the now metal whip. I snap the whip and smile when I hear it pop and snap. I reach up to my neck and rub the tender spots. "Well, that wasn't very nice. One last chance big guy... leave."

The man pushes off the ground and visibly shakes himself. He looks at me with eyes full of anger and promises of pain. "Your mistake woman. Now I will kill you." The man says rolling his shoulders. He runs at me at full speed as I bring the whip down.

The whips hits the man, cutting him and shocking him at the same time. He hits the ground yelling as he grips his bloody chest. "You bitch!" I frown at the man as he gets up again. "Chip... I think we need to make a few more adjustments. Maybe we should put enough juice in these to take down entire cities... maybe that'll be enough."

The man screams in pain as I pull with all my strength. The leg gives and with a sickening noise the leg comes off. The sudden release has me stumbling and dodging the flying severed leg. The man drops to the ground screaming in pain as I watch in disgust.

"Well, that's just nasty... I definitely prefer guns and blades..." I say as I snap the whip clean. Blood flies off covering the ground and surrounding walls. "I will kill you if it's the last thing I do!!" Yells the man as he suddenly pounces at me.

Shit!! I stumble back knowing that I need distance in order for the whip to work but the man is too fast. Before I realize it I'm pinned on the ground under the man. I pull the whip and try my best to wrap it around the man's neck but he's faster and stronger.

He grabs the whip and throws it to the side before snarling in my face. I flinch and fight with everything I have but when I hear him laughing I feel myself go cold. "Maya... this isn't good!!" Chip says with anxiety and all I can do is roll my eyes. No shit Sherlock.

"Maybe I'll play a bit before I kill you..." He says lower his face closer to mine causing my skin to crawl. Oh hell no! I headbutt him in the face and smile when I hear the crunch of his nose. Even if it did make me see stars it was well worth it.

I was expecting to be killed or hit but to my surprise when I look up I see another man standing over us. He grabs the man's head from behind and rips it off with ease. Warm blood covers me as I try to roll away but I wasn't fast enough.

The new arrival throws the head to the side before kicking the dead man's body off me. I scramble backward as I try to stand. The new man was clearly a beast too making me curse my luck. The man looks at me before putting his hands up in confusion.

I stand on shaky legs as I try to rub the blood off the side of my face. "Easy, I'm not going to hurt you. I heard a fight and when I saw what was happening I just wanted to help." The man says in a low soft voice. I look at the man from head to toe before taking a deep breath.
