Chapter 70：Don't Like This

Alec and his men quickly make it back to Maya's after searching for information on what happened. They were able to find the meet up by the City Square but when they all started moving into the City Hall, Alec and his men decided to make a round, around the surrounding area to get a better idea on the condition of the City.

The people/beast going into the City Hall all had a card of some kind making it impossible for him and his men to go in without being noticed but it didn't matter. Alec had heard enough to know what they were up to.

Once they pulled up to Maya's they all jumped out of the black Hummer and quickly made their way in. Night was quickly coming and he didn't want to get stuck out here at the moment. He didn't want anything to happen to his men.

He places his hand on the door pad and after a few seconds, it beeps and unlocks. Maya had put in each of our handprints on the scanner so we can come and go with ease. Alec and his men quickly walk in but Alec suddenly freezes causing Ace to run straight into him from behind.

"Who the hell are you?" Alec snarls as he quickly flashes to Maya's side. The unknown man just glances at Alec before he goes back to wiping Maya's forehead. Alec grabs the mans hand and pushes him away before Trigger comes running from the kitchen.

"Wait, wait! This guy's name is Remi. He saved Maya and brought her home!" Trigger says running over with a bucket of cold water. Remi gives Alec a smile before jerking his hand away saying "As the kid said. I'm only trying to help her... and you are?"

Alec clenches his jaw as he tries to calm his nerves but he can't seem to lower his hackles. When he walked in all he saw was Maya laying on the couch asleep but on closer inspection, he could see she was hurt. She was knocked out and some unknown man was leaning over her and touching her! Not just a man but a beast!

"I appreciate you saving her but I'll take it from here," Alec says reaching for the cloth but Remi pulls the cloth back and says "No need." He then gives Alec one more look before moving back over to Maya.

Remi dips the cloth back into the water and squeezes it before reaching over to place it back on her head. Before it touches Maya though Alec grabs Remi and throws him across the living room. Remi hits the coffee table, smashing it in the process.

Alec never takes his eyes off Remi as he yells at Trigger. "Why the hell was she in the City? You were supposed to keep her here where she's safe!" Trigger jumps but quickly says "Oh come on! Like I could keep her here!! You know what she's capable of!"

Alec growls and says "I'll deal with you later.." Maya lifts up her hands and holds her head but when she sees the current situation she quickly sits up. Ugh... my head is killing me! "No one is dealing with anyone. This is my house and I decide on who comes and goes and that includes myself!"

Alec spins around and quickly comes to my side looking at me from head to toe in concern. When he sees my throat his eyes become darker with threats. I wave him off and say "I ran into a cursed one but he was playing for the dark side."

Alec quickly yells "Are you insane?! You could have been killed or worse!" I plug my poor ears and glare at him before cutting him off "I need to know what's going on and I won't be able to do that by staying here. If you aren't going to let me come with you then I will go by myself."

Alec looks at me like I've lost my mind but I just ignore it as I turn to look at Remi. He looked a little pissed but when he sees me looking he gives me a small smile. "This is Remi and if it wasn't for him I would be dead. Remi will be staying here with us and if any of you have a problem with that you can leave." I say the last part while looking at Alec.
