Chapter 79：The Morning After

I feel something tickling my cheek and slowly moving to my lips making me frown. I was so comfortable... I suddenly jerk awake and try to sit up but a pair of strong arms tighten around me holding me in place.

Alec chuckles and says "Calm down Kitten it's just me." I take in my surrounds as my thoughts slowly catch up. I suddenly remember what I said last night and I feel myself cringe. Why did I say that?? Was I having a moment of weakness?

I groan and pull the covers off but before I can stand Alec wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me back saying "What's the rush? I feel as if you're trying to avoid me already? Am I going to be another one night stand for you?" I blush at his words.

"No, I meant what I said last night but I didn't realize I slept so late. Normally I'm up at this time. We have things to do..." He chuckles and brings me closer tucking his head into my neck taking a deep breath. "I love the way you smell but when my scent is on you as well?" He growls and I feel my insides clench.

I quickly pull against him but he doesn't budge. "Alec, I'm hungry and we have a lot to do..." Alec smiles against my neck and places a light kiss before releasing me. "Do you want me to make you something to eat?" Alec asks and I give him a look.

"Uh no. I'm good but ... thanks." I quickly get up and leave the room feeling awkward. I rush to my bathroom avoiding the other guys. After a quick shower and getting dressed I walk out and everyone grows quiet.

I look to everyone in confusion and ask "What?" They clear their throats and shake their heads saying "Nothing." I let it go knowing it probably had something to do with me sleeping with Alec. We only slept together okay? Sleep! I walk to the kitchen and grab some orange juice.

I look up to find everyone watching me and glare at them in return. They all turn and go back to their business as I walk over to the computers and begin changing the security system. I wanted to be alerted anytime ANYTHING came in and out of this house.

As I completed everything I then began pulling up the blueprint for Chip's new body. Chip jumps up on the computer desk and looks at the blueprint. "Are you going to work on this today?" I nod my head and send the blueprint to the workroom computer.

"I feel like it would be better to give you your upgraded body. Things are becoming worse and if you and I still want to go out we need to be able to protect ourselves." Chip nods in excitement but Alec walks up behind me and frowns.

"What do you mean to go out? You and Chip should stay here where it's safe and if you need to go somewhere I can take you." I slowly spin my chair to look at him. "Chip and I will continue to go out. With or without you. Things are changing and we need to know how and what I can do to help stop it. Just because it's terrifying out there doesn't mean I will hide inside."

Alec's frown grows as he kneels in front of me grabbing my knees. I tense a bit but watch him in curiosity "I understand you want to go out and help but it's not safe. Nero and I haven't told you but with you being a Charmer you will attract the other creatures."

I stare at him and blink a few times digesting what he just said... attract? "How exactly would I attract them?" Alec looks down before looking at Nero. Nero looks uncomfortable and just looks around the house. I narrow my eyes at Alec and wait. I don't think I'm going to like this...
