I even watch the Crawler that I was all too familiar with drinking the water. I wave my hand at Chip and begin backing up but suddenly their heads snap up at an eerie speed. "Charmer... were you the one who called the water?"
My brows come together at his words but when I look around at the other creatures I find myself swallowing hard. We were so outnumbered it wasn't even funny... "And if I did?" I say testing the waters.
Why weren't they attacking? Was it because of the water? The Crawler moves closer and Chip growls in a warning. The Crawler stops and looks at Chip with confusion "What are you?" The Crawler asks in his creepy voice.
Chip steps forward and shows his teeth and the electricity running down them before he says "My master made me." The creatures around us all begin moving closer with others look on in... awe? I think that's the faces they're making.
It's honestly kinda hard to tell... The Crawler looks at me as he sits on his long hind legs and begins rubbing his hands together. "Can you do this again? What else can you do?" I tilt my head at the Crawler and honestly answer.
"I think so... I'm not certain though... why?" The Crawler's creepy yellow little eyes glow brighter as he says "Then I must ask you to follow me, Charmer. Come and see if you can do it again." I frown at what he says, not wanting to follow but when I see the other creatures looking on in excitement I knew I wouldn't be able to turn him down.
I look back to the temple to see that they have blocked off the door. Looks like I'm going for a walk. "Lead the way..." I say reaching up to feel my necklace. Just in case... We walk to a clearing that looked like a huge crater.
The Crawler points at it and says "Do it down there." I look behind me to find tons of creatures staring at me... waiting. I sigh and say "Only if you promise to not harm me or Chip." The Crawler nods his head quickly saying "Yes, yes. Go!"
They all seemed really thirsty... did they not have water anymore? I finally reach the middle and look back to the creatures as they wait with eagerness. I squeeze my hand again but it's harder to get blood this time. It's healing...
I was able to get enough as I crouched down and drew the symbol. Immediately it began glowing and water began rushing out soaking me once again. "Maya, jump on!" Chip yells. I quickly jump on and hold on as he quickly runs back.
The creatures begin cheering with joy as they watch the once dry lake begin filling again. As I climb off Chip the creatures begin bowing one by one. "Mistress, we are honored to welcome you. We have been waiting for your kind to come back and save us from this darkness. We humbly apologize for how we treated you before. Please forgive us, lowly creatures."
I try to school my features but I'm pretty sure my face was twitching. Mistress? What the hell are they talking about? "Uh... it's fine as long as everyone acts right from now on." I say not really sure about what was happening. The Crawler quickly looks up and nods his head "Of course Mistress. We, your humble creatures will serve you faithfully from now on. Please save our land."
"Yes, please save it!"
"Yes, yes!"
"Our Mistress is the best!"
The creatures begin voicing their opinions as I look to Chip for help. "....." I give him a dry look and he only shrugs and looks around like he's bored. "Thanks..." I say under my breath kicking his tail. I turn back to the Crawler and say "That's very kind of you but I have to continue learning..."
The Crawler immediately nods and says "Please allow us to escort you back safely. Not everything here is as intelligent as we are. Some are mindless monsters and they will try to kill you and you are weak so it's..."
His words stop with the look I was giving him and he quickly smiles making me flinch. Lord, he's creepy looking... "My apologies Mistress, please follow us." I nod and look back to the water. The lake was quickly filling up but I found myself frowning.
Would it overflow? Or possibly cause a great flood? I shake my head and follow the Crawler. That was not my greatest concern. I need to finish reading so I can quickly go back to my world before it turns into something like this one.
