Chapter 44 - 44. Hidding Or Telling

"I'm sorry. I promise I won't leave you. No matter what." Elena's heart warms up. She got up and sat on the chair beside the bed.

"Has the doctor examined you?"

"I have. The doctor said I can return to walking normally after undergoing several therapies. For now, I have to frequently move my stiff muscles because I have slept too long."

"I'm sure you can get back on your way and get back well soon."

"Of course, I have to get back to health ... to get married to you soon."

Elena smiled and grabbed Diego's fingers that were stretched out to her. But suddenly her stomach tightened and felt sore. Elena's forehead frowned in pain in her stomach. She had to get out and get away from Diego for a while so that the man wouldn't know what she was feeling right now.

"What is wrong?" Diego saw Elena's frown.

"I'll be out for a bit."

"Where?" Diego holds Elena, not willing the woman to leave even though Diego is not satisfied with staring at her beautiful face.

"I'm going to see a doctor and ask him directly about your condition." Elena gives reasons. She's not completely lying, because Elena wants to see a doctor.

"I'll go out first. You rest." Diego nodded and Elena immediately got up. Holding the grimace by clenching her fists tightly.

When Elena came out of the room and closed the door, she grabbed her stomach and sat on the long chair in the hallway. Her stomach was cramping, perhaps the effect of Elena forcing herself by galloping over here.

Elena rubbed her stomach trying to reduce the pain. But it did not affect me.

From the corner of the hallway, Mira was walking after changing another patient's infusion that had run out, she saw Elena bent down on the chair.

Mira quickly walked over to Elena. Stand in front of her.

"Elena, what's wrong?" Mira asked worriedly seeing Elena who frowned and kept rubbing her stomach.

"My stomach hurts," Elena whispered.

"What?"

"I ran too fast when I came here, looks like it affected my pregnancy."

"Jeez, Elena. Come on, we have to have your womb checked quickly." Mira helped Elena to her feet. The pregnant woman grimaced in pain. Mira supports Elena's body and takes her to the obstetrician's office.

Now that Elena is lying on the gurney, the doctor has just examined her. And provide appropriate medical action for her. Elena was asked to lie down for four hours there.

"Luckily you brought her here right away. Otherwise, she could have miscarried and lost the baby." The female doctor told Mira.

Elena was stunned when she heard the word miscarriage that the doctor had said. She almost lost this precious baby. Very valuable because Elena sacrificed her virginity and gave Brian to touch her. And this baby is very precious to Elise. Elena's hand rubbed her stomach gently. She felt very guilty. As a result of her panic, she endangers the babies. The twins.

"Don't run fast anymore, madame. You are prohibited from running. Whatever emergency, try not to run. You don't want anything bad to happen to your baby, do you?" Elena nodded in understanding and the doctor left her with Mira.

"Get some rest, Elena."

"But Diego must be waiting and worried about me. I talked to him just to go see the doctor briefly to find out his condition."

"Don't worry about him. I'll go and tell him you have something else to do with your work. And ask him to take a break." Elena smiled weakly.

"Yes, thanks, Mira." After that Elena closed her eyes. She's very tired. Her pregnancy made her tired quickly, coupled with her running fast earlier. And her current condition demands rest.

....

In another place. In another hospital parking lot. The place where Brian and Elena had gone to check the woman's pregnancy.

Brian slammed the car door hard. Annotation and anger enveloped his heart. Elena just left without saying anything. Running fast without thinking about her pregnancy. And cannot be reached at all. Brian doesn't know if Elena's cell phone is on the low bet.

He thinks Elena turned off her cellphone on purpose. Avoid and get away from him.

Brian squeezed the steering wheel. The man took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Trying to suppress the anger burning in his heart. After feeling calm enough, Brian started the car and returned to the mansion. He remembered that Elise was still waiting for him.

When Brian arrived at the mansion. His face was still wrinkled and his eyes were still filled with anger.

Elise, who heard Brian's car, immediately rushed over to her husband. Elise's forehead frowned at the disheveled face and anger that radiated from Brian's eyes.

"What's the matter? Why do you look angry? Where is Elena?" Elise has looked right and left but did not find Elena's shadow at all. Brian couldn't have left that pregnant woman in the hospital, could he?

"The woman ran away?" Brian's intonation rose. His anger was ignited again when he remembered Elena's action earlier.

"What do you mean?"

And everything flows that Brian knows. About Elena's twin pregnancy. Regarding Elena who asked one of her babies to be treated. And Elena's action who ran without saying a word to herself. Also regarding the woman's cell phone that can't be contacted.

"She must have run away because I didn't grant her wish to have one of the babies." Brian and Elise are now sitting on the living room sofa.

Elise rubbed Brian's arm. Trying to calm the grumpy man.

"No. I'm sure Elena won't betray us. She won't be greedy like that."

"Then why did she go running fast as if afraid I might catch up with her? She wanted to run away with the two babies."

"Maybe there are other urgent things she got. You said she called someone before. Maybe that person said something emergency to Elena."

Brian loosened his tense muscles a little.

"Calm down. We'll just wait. If Elena doesn't come back too, we'll look for her. But I'm sure she'll come back." Once again Elise comforted Brian with her words. Even though she was also worried about Elena's action, who was currently missing.

....

It was already night when Mira woke Elena. Four hours of sleep already made Elena much better.

"I brought food for you. Eat it. You must be hungry." Mira moved the tray she had previously placed on the nightstand onto Elena's lap.

"How's Diego?" Elena starts eating her food.

"Don't worry. He's fine. Diego asked where you were. And I told him you were on your job." Elena smiled weakly.

"Thank you, Mira. I don't know what to repay all of your kindness with."

"Hey, you don't need to hesitate. You're like my family. I'm glad I could help you. But, Elena ...." Mira was silent for a moment. Her eyes fixed on Elena.

Elena stopped her mouthful and turned to Mira. Ready to hear what the woman has to say.

"Diego is conscious now. Then what about your pregnancy? Are you going to tell Diego everything? Or hide it?"

Elena fell silent and lowered her head. Staring at her stomach which was now sticking out, but still not that big.

Elena hasn't thought about that. What should she do? Hiding or telling Diego everything?

Elena frowned. What would that man do if he found out that Elena was now no longer a virgin and was pregnant with another man?

Elena was silent in her thoughts. She has known Diego for a very long time. They live alone and struggle to face the harshness of life. The man loves Elena. He might be able to forgive Elena's doing this crazy pact. But ... if Diego found out about it all, that man would be very disappointed in Elena. She doesn't want to. Elena doesn't want that. Elena knew that sooner or later Diego would find out everything. But let this be a secret for now. Elena will say everything later when she has prepared her heart and after giving birth to this child.

"Mira, please help me hide all this. Please keep my pregnancy secret from Diego." Elena looked closely at Mira. Understood the awkwardness of the pregnant woman in front of her. Mira rubbed Elena's arm, reassuring her that Mira would always support and help her.

"I'll help you, Elena. But we can't keep hiding your pregnancy. Your stomach is bound to grow fast. Diego must have noticed."

Elena smiled weakly. She thought about it too. Her head was down. Her stomach is now not as flat as before. Her stomach has started to bulge, but you can still cover it. Elena is sure that in a month and a half her stomach must be growing and her pregnancy will be hard to hide from Diego. What should Elena do then?

Elena let out a deep breath. Let her think about it later. What is important now is to let go of missing the man she cares about.

"I'll think about it later. Now I want to see him." Elena pushed the tray of food onto the nightstand. Food that only a few spoonfuls eat.

The pregnant woman moves down from the bed. Seeing that, Mira readily helped.

"Come on, I'll take you to the room."

Elena stared closely at Mira's arm that supported her. Then muttered, "Hey! I'm not a dying patient, you don't have to carry me." There was a tone of sarcasm meant to joke and tease Mira.

"You are a patient who is almost dying if I don't help you. So don't argue."

"Ready, nurse." Elena's eyes glanced at Mira with amusement. Mira rolled her eyes in embarrassment. Annoyed by Elena who started teasing her. But in Mira's heart, she was happy that her best friend was laughing again. It was very rare for Mira to see Elena laughing since their reunion a few months ago. And she is also very grateful that Diego has now come to his senses.
