Chapter 24 - Blacksmithing

Alex walked home with the Old Man and Yui. When monsters attacked them, Alex would kill them easily.

Alex then read all the notifications from the fight.

When was excited at his new status. He was basically unrivaled. He has the strength of a Sky Realm Grade-6 Cultivator, but if the other party used Cosmos Energy, he would have a hard time winning. Cosmos Energy was more superior to Qi and Magic Power. Although Alex would still have his Soul Power and Attribute Points, he would have already lost two of his cards in the fight.

The Energy Superior to Qi is Cosmos Energy while the one superior to Magic Power is Universal Mana.

On Centorih, when someone sheds their mortal body, a mysterious force rejects them into space. They would be fine as cultivators no longer have to breath at a Star Realm Cultivation Base.

"alex...Alex...Alex!" Yui suddenly yelled in Alex's ears.

Alex was came out of his thoughts and looked at Yui who was pouting.

"What?"

"Nothing! Humph!" Yui turned her head the other way and stomped her foot on the ground.

Alex smiled and shrugged his shoulders. He the realized something.

"Hey,Yui?"

"Yeah?" Yui turned her head to Alex.

"You don't seem to have a weapon yet? Didn't you have that sword that Shen Fei gave to you on one of your birthdays?"

"I had it but I disposed it the day after the festival because he tried to touch me in front of so many people. Why do you ask?"

Alex realized Yui's logic and nodded.

"Do You want me to make you one?"

When Yui heard this, her eyes lit up and she looked at Alex questioning state.

"Since when can you make weapons?"

Alex laughed the question off and flicked her forehead.

"Whether I know how or not doesn't matter. Do you want one or not?"

"Yes! Of course I want it!" Yui yelled with a pouty expression while covering her forehead with her hands.

Old Man Han who has been listening to their conversation suddenly laughed.

"Hahaha! As expected of Yui's fiance. So multi-talented!"

'Oh crap! I know this laugh.'

Alex immediately retreated a meter away and got into a defensive stance. Everytime the Old Man laughed like that, he would pat him on the back.

Unfortunately, this time, the Old Man appeared in front of him and patted him on his shoulders.

'@#[email protected]%#$!' Alex cursed in his mind. Even after the Skill leveled up so many times, it would still level up when the Old Man patted him.

'How strong was this guy?'

Alex still didn't know the extent of the Old Man's strength. Even with his high Level 'Identify' skill, he couldn't see the Old Man's cultivation. He gave up looking into it a long time ago.

Yui chuckled at this scene and they continued to walk home.

The Old Man and Yui returned to their house immediately while Alex went to the bas.e.m.e.nt of his house. He activated the light formations he had set up the year before.

He hasn't used the place in six months. When he studied formations, he would always be down there. Now that he wanted to learn Blacksmithing, he came down to the bas.e.m.e.nt again.

He had Alchemy and Blacksmithing equipment but he never used it. Although Alchemy was interesting, it took too much time to learn so he put it off.

Alex came to the went into the workshop and took out a {Ice Wolf's Horn}. Ice wolves came out during the winter and were at least 3 meters tall. They faught with their fangs and horn. They would use their horns for big preys and fangs for smaller prey. Meaning that their horns were extremely though and durable. They also had an ice attribute within them. Alex got this by chance as he strolled in the forest during the winter. Ice Wolves were an uncommon sight after all.

Alex also took out some metals he had bought a while back. Thanks to his inventory that stopped time inside of it, they were still as new as when he bought them.

He lit up the furnace and heated the strongest metal he had which was the {Water Calming Metal}. The metal could be found at a river. Just like the name implies, the water around the Metal was calm without ripples.

He took it out and hammered it. He then repeated the process until the metal took the shape of the sword.

*Ding* *Ding* *Ding*

Sounds of the hammer hitting the metal echoed throughout the bas.e.m.e.nt.

At the same time Alex also recieved a notification.

When Alex stopped hitting the {Water Calming Metal}, it was shaped like a rapier just like Yui's last sword.

He then had to anneal it. By heating the sword and letting it could slowly and evenly. This step would usually take an entire day but Alex had Magic. He closed his eyes and used the Elemental Magic to cool it.

After that, he created an edge and a point. He also engraved the name of the sword. The name was filled with Mana from the air. If Alex had put his own mana, Yui wouldn't be able to wield it as he would be it's true owner.

As the sword was soft, Alex had to harden it. He heat the rapier up again and immediately placed it into the quench tank allowing the sword to cool. After this step, the sword was hardened.

He then heat the sword up until the edges were a wheat color and a plum color for the centerline of the sword to temper it. Right after that, he quenched it again and cleaned it with a coarse emory paper.

For the final step, Alex grinded the sword and polished it. He placed two fingers on the {Ice Wolf's Horn} and pulled out the Ice Essense within. He then dragged his fingers along the sword and spread out the essense within the sword.

To stop any major leaks, Alex used the horn itself and created a scabbard for the sword. He also added a bluish-purple rapier sword guard and a blue sword hilt.

Alex looked at his sword a sighed. This was his first time making a sword after all. His soul sword was a katana he had seen back on earth with a customized design.

He held the sword scabbard and unsheated the sword.

穏やかな氷の剣 (Gentle Ice Sword)

Those were the words that Alex carved into the sword. When he pulled it out of its sheath, the temperature of the room slowly dropped. The sword gave off a freezing cold blue aura.

Alex also used his 'Identify' Skill on it.

'Weapon Spirit?!' Alex was surprised to see that. When weapon spirits wake up, they increase the sword's power and can keep growing with its wielder. Meaning that this sword has massive potential.

Alex was excited to see that his first weapon was so powerful.

Alex then stood up and cleaned up the workshop. He went to the kitchen and prepared himself some food.

After eating his fill, he took a shower, changes clothes and brushed his teeth.

He then headed to his bed for some rest. He had spent a lot of energy today, to save Yui and the Old Man, and make a weapon.

He had a long journey ahead of him after all. He wanted to find his parents and explore the world around him. He slowly closed his eyes letting his consciousness drift in the world of dreams.

When Alex slept, a gentle female voice came out of the System.
