81 A confession under the rain

The rain continued to fall, but did not intensify. I breathed out in relief. If a storm were to occur right now, that would not only send us somewhere where we would be lost, but would also put us behind schedule. Based on the planning that us captains have done; we should arrive at the Bermuda Triangle location in about another month. This is not including the possibility that we might dock at somewhere in South Carolina before continuing on our trip. Or we might visit the Caribbean or Cuba after that. I sighed. We were running out of food supply; we have already begun rationing. We could last another two weeks at most. We probably have to go to the Carolinas sooner than I had anticipated.

As I walked deep in thought, Baron threw the rung of rope stairs over the railing. Before climbing down I turned and asked Baron.

"Baron, where's Zarfia?"

Baron looked at me before answering.

"She's back on our ship. She said that it would be better if she guarded Abrafo instead of staying here on Johannes's ship."

I nodded. She had made the right choice. That was a quality that I had admired in Zarfia. Despite the quick turn of events, she would always stay level headed and make the right decisions. I then twisted my body so that I started climbing down the rung of rope stairs. Baron then followed me. Johannes then called out.

"This isn't the last time you see me Mila. I will be waiting for the next time."

I looked up with a look of disgust.

Jesus Christ man, have some dignity and unclench. He was like a stubborn stain that wouldn't come off no matter how many times you wash the fucking shirt.

I ignored him as Baron and I climbed down the stairs. I then hopped off and landed on my ship. Baron did the same next to me. Johannes then called for Abrafo. Abrafo nodded as he walked over to the ladder. I placed my hand on his arm as I said.

"Did Johannes actually give you an explosive in your hand?"

Abrafo shook his head in confusion.

"Why would the master do that?"

I chuckled. I had assumed so, but out of respect I let him have the upper hand. I then waved at Abrafo as he climbed up the stairs to his ship. Johannes watched me as his shoulder continued to bleed. I smiled at him and raised my middle finger. That mother fucker had pissed me off far more than any fucker that I have dealt with in this new life of mine. Johannes smiled and returned the same motion as he turned on his heel with Abrafo in tow. The sound of Abrafo's surprised reaction to the wound reached my ears as I chuckled.

"What are you laughing about Mila?"

"Nothing Baron. Don't worry about it."

I looked up to see a smiling Baron. I sighed. Never mind. Let's not ruin the mood with my shitty jokes.

"Mila?"

I nodded to encourage him to keep talking.

I felt my ears heat up as I fanned myself. The rain continued to softly fall on us. I looked up to see a small smile on Baron's face. His green eyes as they reflected me in his pupils. I smiled. I won't tease him today. I'll just accept his kind words.

"I also, am happy to have met you as well Baron."

Baron's smile stretched from one ear to the other as he closed his eyes and said.

"I'm glad. I know that you understand my feelings for you Mila."

I opened my mouth to retort but Baron covered it with his hand.

"I know what you're going to say Mila. Just let me finish talking first."

I nodded as he covered my mouth.

"I know that you do not love me back, but I'm willing to wait for you to fall for me. The proper way. Despite already conquering your body, I would also like to conquer that caged heart of yours. So, I will wait. Both patiently and impatiently. I will slowly let you appreciate my actions and notice the effect of my actions on you. Once you have fallen for me, I will await your confession. No pressure, but I hope that it would be soon. A man grows very impatient when he wants to marry the girl he loves after all."

Baron then brought my hand to his lips as he softly kissed it.

That's fucking it.

Strike one.

My fucking accelerated heartbeat.

Strike Two.

My flushed face.

Strike three.

The desire that I had in believing his words to be true.

Three strikes I'm out.

I intertwined my fingers with Baron's as I said.

"Don't worry Baron, you won't have to wait that long."

Baron chuckled as he pulled me closer to him. He then whispered in my ear.

"Does that mean that you have already fallen for me, my dear wife?"

I pushed him away as my face exploded for the tenth time today. Lord above, my cholesterol levels were probably all over the place despite my young age. I'm going to have a heart attack at the tender age of 18.

Baron chuckled as I struggled against his embrace. His vanilla smell filled my nostrils as I stopped struggling.

"You're quite an annoying asshole Baron, don't you know that?"

Baron smiled as he answered.

"Only to you my love."

I fanned my flushing face as I pulled away from his embrace. Lord above, this handsome man was making me feel things that I had never felt before. The way his golden hair fell on his head as his green eyes gleamed not only made my heart beat quicken, but my senses go crazy. I desired to not only touch his hair but kiss those luscious lips of his. Just looking at him now made me feel embarrassed.

He then leaned in once more and said.

"I have been holding myself back quite for some time. This dress of yours is quite enticing after all."

I covered my ear as he chuckled. I then unconsciously raised the bodice of the dress so that he would stop staring at my chest.

I need to change the subject before I truly get swept into his mirage of beauty.

I then clasped his hand and pulled him towards the other captains. Baron smiled as he looked at our clasped hands. As we walked towards the captains, I heard him softly utter.

"One step at a time, I will make you willingly be mine."
