"I won't call him." She said with a pout and averted her gazes from me.
What a drag. I took out my phone and texted him on his whereabouts. The text got delivered, and I waited for his reply. His status changed to online and then it showed typing.
"Yeah, I'm just on the way. I'm waiting for Koi near the bus stop." He texted me and replied with a thumb up.
"Are you already there?" He asked me.
"Yeah, I'm sitting in her room, and getting bored." I replied.
"Bruh… what kind of a guy are you? Sitting in the girl's room you like and still getting bored?" He replied after a few moments with a sly face emoji at the end.
"It's not like we're making out or something." I replied.
"Yet." He replied with a sticker that wasn't really family friendly. I also flipped him off and put my mobile back in my pocket.
"What did he say?" I looked from my mobile and noticed a really curious Reina staring at me.
"Who?" I asked.
"Gaisen?" She rolled her eyes.
"He is waiting for Kizhashi-san, and they will come together." I said and stretched my arms a bit.
"Oh" The way she said that, I could tell that she still had Gaisen's thoughts in her mind. I have to somehow make myself overwhelm her mind. Even though she doesn't want to think about him, she can't help but do that.
It was a bit awkward because there was nothing but silence between us. Reina was flipping through some questions from the book in front of her. She suddenly stopped looking at the book and glanced at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Tell me one thing, why did you decide to join this group study?" She narrowed her eyes at me suspiciously.
"Huh?" I tilted my head as to show that I was confused, but I know where she was taking this conversation to.
"You definitely aren't the type of person to study in a group." She was right about that. I wouldn't deny her claim.
"I just felt like studying in a group." I shrugged.
"You also don't seem like you have a problem with studies." She said, while playing with the pen between her fingers.
"Well… if you look at it from that angle, then Gaisen also doesn't need to join this session." I retorted with something I know she can put an argument against. I was quite the piece of shit, to be honest.
"That… not what I meant." She sighed, and a frown formed on her face.
"No particular reason, I just wanted to be with you." I said in a plain tone.
"H..Huh!?" She said in a high-pitched voice as her eyes became wide and she lifted her head from the arm she was resting it on. I could tell by the shock in her voice clearly.
"Like spend some time with you." I continued with the same tone, though I know what I was doing and how it was affecting her.
"Are...are… you idiot?" She shifted gazes from me into her book again. Her cheeks became tinted slightly in red as she was trying her best to not look at me.
"I can clearly tell who is the idiot in this room." I said in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah it's you." She said pointing the pen towards me.
"That's what an idiot would say." I narrowed my eyes and retorted with a serious tone even though I was just teasing her.
"You little…" She was about to flip me off but I cut her off mid sentence.
"Oi, Oi..." I showed her my palm to take a break. She was glaring at me and I was laughing. Though faking laughs is kind of difficult.
There was silence again between us. I was fiddling with my mobile and she was busy solving some questions. I was waiting for others because it was already 15 minutes since I arrived here.
I knew why Tsūmen was being late. He thought that he could be subtle about it but I saw through him as much last night only when he texted me that he'll be late with a smiley emoji.
"Hey…" I heard Reina call me, and again I looked back at her.
"Hmm?" I nodded in a way to gesture to her to continue.
"Are you good at physics?" She asked.
"Not as good as you." Knowing the fact that she is a better student than me, I replied accordingly.
"Can… you like... help me with this?" She narrowed her eyes at me and pointed at a specific question with the tip of her pen.
I leaned in closer towards her to get a better look at the values and the question itself. It was rare for her to get stuck on questions and ask for help from someone else.
"This…" I analysed the question properly and checked what values were already given in the question itself. Though the question in itself looks easy because of the straightforward values, it's actually meant to trick us.
"Yeah, this is easy… give me the pen," I extended my left hand towards her and took the pen from her. She looked at me with a stiff expression.
"You take this as x, then use the integrals of that expression…" I flipped to the last page and started writing on the notebook opened in front of me.
"Then you can exchange the values but put this as constant." I slightly glanced at her and she was already looking at me. Her face was at an oddly close distance, and she was blushing.
She quickly moved a bit from me and said, "You are quite good at this… what the heck!?"
"Ah not really, I just happened to solve this question before." I kept the pen on the table and returned to my place.
"Oh...kay…" She looked at me suspiciously, though I actually didn't lie to her. I did solve this question when this chapter was started in school.
"Did you get it?" I asked her just in case because I skipped a lot of the steps in between and did most of the calculations mentally.
"Yeah" She nodded, and smiled at me genuinely. It's been quite a time since I saw her smiling like this. I was staring at her. The sound of the bell ringing snapped me out of it. It seems like the other members were here too, finally.
