Kizhashi's POV
I was walking alongside Sakamaki who had an unfazed look on his face even after what he did a few moments earlier. His hands were in his pockets as he would look over at me frequently and act completely chill, as if he didn't just beat the absolute shit out of a guy.
He wanted to talk with me about something, so I decided that we can talk about it while walking home. This wasn't the first time he was asking for help. I remember last time it was because he wanted me to collect information about Naoto senpai.
Albeit it appeared quite useless to me, since neither does he talk with Naoto Senpai nor does Senpai know him as far as I can remember. Though it was two months ago, things might have changed between those two if they were talking with each other, that is.
Still, I didn't understand why he would even try to go to Naoto Senpai. They were in completely different leagues from each other. Senpai was so beautiful and graceful, but on the other hand we had this guy who was gloomy and rude.
Well, if I were to list his undesirable traits down, the list would never end.
Though he has gained quite the reputation ever since the sports festival. Girls in our class were discussing boys a few days ago and his name came up from one of their mouths as it appeared like she had a crush on him.
I saw no reason to like someone because they happened to be a fast runner. Even though I wasn't expecting him to give a nose to nose competition to Haruka, as that dude was well known to be the fastest in our school.
Sakamaki was a weird guy. He had more secrets than what I could ever imagine. While talking with him once in a while, I always felt like I was looking at the tip of an iceberg
Even though I didn't know him at all, I was obeying his order just because of that one unfortunate day.
The girls were also talking about looks as they actually ranked Sakamaki in the top ten among our year. From my perspective, he wasn't crazy handsome, but what made him attractive was that he gave off more mature vibes than others.
As I was thinking about that, my eyes happened to glance over at him as I suddenly became quite aware of him. I was looking at his dark messy hair, which was moving as there was wind blowing. His sleeves were folded till his forearms, as I could see a bit of veins on them.
Not that I was attracted to him.
Weird would be an understatement for him. I have looked into his eyes, and they always seem so hollow, like he is just an empty vessel with no emotions. His grades were quite good, and he was good at sports, too. On top of that, he was good looking too. According to other girls, his presence in class was close to zero until the sports festival.
Not that I care.
He was an asshole to me, but after what he did today; I was actually a bit relieved that he was with me. He was really keeping his words, and I respected that, so I had no other option than to help him as well.
But it's partly his fault. I broke up with Gaisen because of him and now boys won't stop bothering me. Even though the others were quite easy to deal with since they took a simple no for an answer, Yutaka was quite stubborn and creepy.
He was after me for quite a long time and I had already rejected him four times in the interval of a week, but still he wouldn't accept my rejection. I felt a bit bad when Sakamaki was beating him but he deserved it.
He would always be looking at me with weird eyes, even when I was with Gaisen. And I talked with Gaisen a few days ago and he was getting quite a lot of proposals too. I knew many girls were jealous of me dating him and now that I finally broke up; he was like a lost lamb in a pack of wolves.
I knew he wanted something from me, but that event seemed to have diverted his mind. Albeit, he was beating a guy. His expression never changed. Even for once. It was the same bored eyes and bitter voice.
Even though he clapped that guy because he was pissed, he ended up standing up for me indirectly, so I was thankful for that. I wonder what would've happened if he wasn't there with me. Yutaka looked really crazy and it would've turned out badly for me.
For a moment when he was calling me names, I froze up for a bit and also when he touched me; it made me feel really uncomfortable. There was something malicious about his touch that I quite couldn't put into words at that moment.
His narrowed eyes glanced at me as I blurted out, "You don't appear to be the dude who loses their cool."
"Yeah… I don't generally…" He nodded calmly as I decided to thank him for helping me, but looking at his face, I was having second thoughts as I brushed it off, "So… nevermind."
"What?" He asked in a confused tone as I decided to tell him, but it was quite awkward for me, "It's nothing… tha… thanks for standing up for me."
"I didn't stand up for you. He just pissed me off." He narrowed his eyes as he said that in his usual indifferent tone, which made all my gratitude flush away as I again got mad at him and asked, "Hmph… what do you need this time?"
Why can't he be normal for once to have a decent conversation with me?
"Uhh… Do you happen to know anyone from class 2-4?" He asked in an uncertain tone and stared at me a for while as I tried to process why he would ask such a random question.
