Chapter 19: Myriad Primordial Forest

After three days,

"Big brother, I want to train. Can you ask Uncle Porter to train me too?"

Evan asked Lucas as he looked at the open ground from the first floor balcony of the building. In Evan's eyes, everyone is equal.

So, he treated them as family as they were working for the Hellmore family.

It's been three days since Lucas officially established the 'Hellmore' family in the Silverstone town.

For the last three days, Lucas was secretly training hiis body and that same goes for the young squire.

Even though they were still not doing perfectly fine, in a month or so, they would get used to it.

"First, we should go through your talent assessment. Only after that, you are allowed to train as you like."

Lucas shook his head as he directly rejected Evan's request.

Hearing those words, Evan became silent, making Lucas shake his head, "I heard from Shawn that there will be the 'Talent assessment day' in three more days. Once we find out in which field you are talented, let's train you in it."

As promised, Shawn came the next after he bought the manor and secretly delivered the 10 finest hidden needles for Lucas. At the same time, he informed Lucas about the 'Talent assessment day'.

In this world, anyone who reaches 10 years old would need to be assessed their talents and depending on it, they would pursue their future path.

The day is random and the adventurer guild or the royal family chooses a date when they think enough 10-year-old kids were there to assess.

Kids with greater talents in a particular path will be picked by the respective guilds and trained with their resources.

Even though Lucas didn't want his little brother to be tested for his talents openly, it is a process everyone had to go through and even if he postponed it, his brother would hate him for delaying his talent assessment.

'Only if the system could assess others' talents like how it shows the complete information on items.'

Lucas shook his head as the system said, it is still a low level to assess others' talent.

"Brother, do you think I will have a good talent in any field?"

After hearing Lucas's words, Evan felt a little better; however, he soon had another doubt as he asked his big brother about it.

"Of course, you will have a good talent just like our father."

Lucas rubbed his little brother's hair as he filled Evan with confidence.

"Really?"

Evan became excited as he asked Lucas.

"Of course. Our father's talents have to be passed to either one of us, right?"

Even though Lucas gave a brief reason, Evan was clever enough to understand it and nodded his head while saying, "Don't worry, big brother. Once I become stronger, I will protect you."

Generally, if parents are very talented, it is said to be passed down to their descendants. Even though there were cases like Lucas who only had 'Peasant talent' in becoming a Mage or a Knight, they were still rare.

So, Lucas was very sure that Evan will have a good talent because their father had a 'Duke talent' in the 'Way of knights' with the potential to become a Heavenly Knight.

"I will be going out today to check what businesses our family can do in this town. So, be good after I go out, okay?"

Lucas felt that he got completely used to his new body and decided to test his skills in the wilderness; however, he didn't want his little brother to worry about him.

Evan was just a 10-year-old kid who had watched his father die in front of his eyes and he had only a single blood relative, his big brother Lucas.

So, of course, he would throw a tantrum if he found out Lucas was entering the 'Myriad primordial forest' and it was the last thing Lucas wanted right now.

"If you are not going to take Grandpa Bernard with you, at least take Uncle Porter along with you."

Evan knew how dangerous this town was. So, he suggested Lucas take the tier 1 lesser knight as his guard.

"Sure."

Seeing the stubborn look on his little brother's face, Lucas knew he could not accept it.

Soon, Lucas ordered the old man Bernard to keep an eye on the young squires while he took Porter along with him.

Lucas and Porter used the high-quality horses to ride towards the 'Myriad primordial forest'

'Myriad primordial forest', a forest full of resources and a place where opportunities and threat co-exists. And here I am, searching for my opportunities with a heart to face the threats.'

Lucas muttered to himself while exiting the Silverstone town and the distance between the town and the forest is around 100 kilometers; however, for the high-quality horses, it would take less than an hour.

"Master, I know you are not from this firmament, so, I don't think you know about the 'Myriad primordial forest'. If you want, I can tell you about it."

Along the way, Porter asked Lucas whether he wanted to know more about the forest.

"Sure."

Even though he had a rough idea about the forest, Lucas wanted to know more as there was no harm in learning it.

"Myriad Primordial Forest is classified into six regions starting with the outermost region named Baron grounds and the innermost region is called Sovereign grounds.

Viscount grounds, Earl grounds, Marquis grounds and Duke grounds are the regions that were in the middle."

"Generally, even if a novice lurks in the outskirts of the Baron grounds, if his luck is bad, he could die in the claws of the spirit beasts. As for knight squires or mage apprentices, they can enter the Viscount grounds but still lose their lives."

"Sovereign grounds is the most terrifying region in the myriad primordial forest where even Heavenly Knights and Heavenly Mages fears to enter."

Porter said most of the things he knew about the myriad primordial forest to Lucas who listened in silence.

"Even though there are dangers everywhere, there are opportunities along with them."

Porter finished his explanation with a line that Lucas already knew.

Nevertheless, he nodded his head at Porter, before asking the system, 'Show me the mission details again.'

That's right!

There was another reason why he was entering the 'Myriad Primordial Forest' and it was because of the system's new mission.

Initially, he didn't want to complete the missions; however, after experiencing the true cruelty of this world, Lucas understood that he needed to become powerful to protect what he cared about.

So, he wanted to complete the missions for the rewards that would make him powerful in the least amount of time.
