Chapter 63: Apprentice Mage

'This young man must have something; otherwise, it was impossible for him to survive such a cruel dungeon.'

'Keep an eye on him and the girl beside him.'

'We need to pull them to our side at any cost.'

However, they have their own plans for being so nice to Lucas as they look at the disappearing silhouette of Lucas.

...

In the Raindrop manor,

Lucas didn't bother with the crowd's thinking; instead, he entered the gate and saw the ten young squires had already started their exercise.

He nodded his head at them while entering the manor with Beck and Bernard.

"Young master Evan."

The moment they entered into the manor, Beck saw Evan and called him with a happy face.

"Sister-in-law Beck?"

Evan was already rushing towards his big brother; however, when he heard Beck's voice, he became even more excited and didn't even look at Lucas anymore before turning his head towards Beck.

'He started it again.'

Lucas shook his head; however, he didn't mind as he knew Evan always called her that and even their father didn't mind Evan calling her that.

"Young master Evan, you have grown taller."

Soon, Beck and Evan started conversing while Lucas left them to fresh up.

After staying in the dungeon for more than 24 hours, his body was covered with blood.

'Hiss'

After he bathed, he saw the sleeping baby fire snake on his bed awakened from its slumber and hissed before rushing at him.

'It has already become rank 2 spirit beast?'

Lucas was surprised with the rank upgrade of the fire snake for a moment; however, he didn't think much as it would be faster when the spirit beasts were young.

"Evan, are you ready for tonight's talent evaluation ceremony?"

After coming out of his room, Lucas saw Evan was sitting silently on the sofa as though he was worried about something.

"Yes, brother."

Evan nodded his head with a forced smile on his face.

"Don't worry about it. You will definitely awaken a good talent."

Even though he didn't have much experience with human emotions, Lucas knew Evan was worried about the talent evaluation ceremony.

So, he tried to motivate him as he continued, "See, what I have brought for you as an advance gift for your talent test."

While saying that, he showed the rank 2 fire snake to Evan.

"What? A spirit beast pet for me?"

Evan's earlier worries disappeared when he saw the small fire snake in Lucas' hands.

"Yes."

Lucas smiled as he extended his hands towards Evan; however, Evan was a little worried about touching the snake.

Nevertheless, he still extended his hands because he knew that his brother would not let anything happen to him.

The same thing happened with the baby fire snake as it looked at Lucas and Evan repeatedly before slowly moving into Evan's hands.

"From now onwards, Ruby will be your first beast companion and you should look after her."

Seeing that the baby fire snake didn't have a problem with Evan, Lucas said those words to Evan.

The thing is, the more care one shows towards the beast companion, the more loyal the beast companion will become.

"I will definitely take good care of it."

Evan was so excited for his first spirit beast pet and completely stopped worrying about the talent evaluation ceremony.

"Evan, while you play with it, I will go and take some rest."

With a slight smile on his face, Lucas returned to his room and directly entered the secret training room.

'It's time to learn new spells.'

Without wasting any time, Lucas started with the basic spell 'Fiery rage'.

'Kacha'

As usual, he crushed the spell scroll and learned the spell.

'Ding,

Congratulations to the host for successfully learning the new basic spell 'Fiery rage'.

'Ding,

Spell name:- Fiery rage (Basic)

Effect:- Increases the user's battle prowess by 10 percent for 30 minutes.

Chanting time:- 2 minutes.

MP cost:- 10 units

Soon, he got the two system notifications and Lucas didn't use the spell as he felt there is no use for the spell currently.

So, he took out the intermediate spell scroll from inventory as he crushed it.

'Ding,

Detected the host's Magic talent is at 'Viscount-level'. The host can learn the intermediate spell directly.

'Aargh'

At first, there was a system notification and after that, there was a sharp pain in Lucas' head as he felt his head was filled with mysterious knowledge.

It took some time for Lucas to get used to the pain as he silently sat on the ground waiting for the infusion of the knowledge to get completed.

'Ding,

Congratulations to the host for successfully learning an intermediate spell 'Blazing wave'.

'Ding,

Since the host has learned an intermediate spell, he could be considered as an Apprentice mage.

'Ding,

Increasing the capacity of the host's magic sea by 100 units.

'Aargh'

Just when he thought there would be no more pain, Lucas once again felt a pain in his magic sea after he listened to the last system notification.

By the time his pain disappeared, the magic sea had doubled in its size compared to before.

'Looks like everything in this world comes with pain.'

This was the conclusion after checking his magic sea which had now become 200 units.

To learn new spells, he had to endure the pain.

To increase his magic sea, he had to endure the pain.

To increase the knight rank, he needs to endure the pain.

"Anyway, I am finally an apprentice mage now."

Even though he was still a low-level apprentice mage, he could severely injure a tier 1 lesser knight with his intermediate spell 'Blazing wave' as long as that lesser knight was not alert.

'Also, I need to find a good rank 3 spirit beast to get my 'Knight Sea' open.'

Soon, he thought about the spirit beast he had to kill to enter the Lesser knight rank.

Just like how mages have 'Magic sea', the Knights head 'Knight sea' to store the knight energy and the knight skills they gained along their journey to become the Heavenly knight.

They knew a cultivation technique to replenish their Knight energy and had to find a method to increase the capacity of their Knight sea.

'I wonder which rank 3 spirit beast I should choose to kill to enter the Lesser knight rank?'

However, the problem was, which spirit beast Lucas had to kill because there were so many spirit beasts with unique skills, making him a little confused.

'Wait a second...why am I thinking so much about it?'

Soon, Lucas calmed himself down as he muttered, 'After the talent evaluation ceremony is finished, I will enter the 'Myriad primordial forest' and choose for the suitable rank 3 spirit beast.'

Once he came to that conclusion, Lucas didn't bother about it as he continued his assassin training to enhance his senses.

Since the limits of the humans in this world were very huge compared to the humans from his previous world, Lucas didn't procrastinate on his assassin training as it would push his limits to the maximum.

'Huf huff

After six hours, Lucas completely exhausted himself and went to sleep soon after as he didn't sleep yesterday.

"It's time to see what kind of talent Evan has."

Nevertheless, he woke up at the right time as he walked out of his room after a quick face wash with great excitement.
