A few minutes ago.
"Brother Reece, are you sure we can defeat the shadow wyvern,"
An adventurer in his late twenties asked a middle-aged adventurer with a serious look on his face.
"Don't worry, brother Harper. As long as our team of 12 works together, we can defeat this rank 4 shadow wyvern."
The middle-aged adventurer replied as he looked at the angry shadow wyvern in the distance.
They lured the shadow wyvern from the viscount grounds of the Myriad primordial forest with a costly beast luring potion and how could Reece, the leader of the team let it go just like that?
So, of course, he didn't want to walk off now.
"Okay then. Let's go with the usual formation then. Mages will support from the back lines while you and other knights fight it head-on."
When he saw how serious his brother was about killing the shadow wyvern, Harper nodded his head without thinking much.
"Thank you, brother."
Reece knew he could rely on his brother as he thanked Harper before saying, "Let's wait until the beast weakening potion's effect starts. Then, we can fight it."
"Sure."
Soon, the angry shadow wyvern started calming down as it landed on the ground and weakly laid on the ground with its eyes closed.
"It's time."
As soon as Reece saw that the shadow wyvern fell to the ground, he and the seven lesser knights rushed towards the shadow wyvern.
'Swoosh'
Within no time, all eight tier 5 lesser knights reached the shadow wyvern.
"Roar"
However, just when they were about to land their attacks on it, the shadow wyvern opened its eyes and roared at them.
"Everyone, back off. It fooled us by showing that the effect of the beast weakening potion is activated."
Reece, even though he was still a tier 5 lesser knight, he spent most of his life in the Myriad primordial forest and he noticed something was wrong; however, he was a little late in warning other knights who were blasted off into the distance by the shadow wyvern's tail and wings.
"Harper, change of plans. Let's go on the full attacking mode."
Nevertheless, Reece stood up from the ground as he shouted at Harper and other mages.
"You heard the boss. Let's do this."
Soon, the fight between the shadow wyvern and the adventurer team begins.
….
'Looks like both sides are in a stalemate.'
From the tree, Lucas revealed an evil smile on his face as he looked at both parties.
'I will just wait until they fight a little more before joining the fight.'
Lucas didn't have any plans to join the fight; instead, he planned to wait before taking all the loot.
As for the mission, Lucas put it on hold because compared to the rank 4 shadow wyvern, he felt other things were less valuable.
'What's more, if I am lucky, I can find some good things on them.'
With that thought in his head, Lucas settled himself on the tree and watched the fight between the shadow wyvern and the adventurer team.
"Brother, as long as you stall that spirit beast for two minutes, I will use the advanced spell."
Looking at the shadow wyvern that looked completely exhausted, Harper asked Reece to stall for some time.
"Sure."
Just like the shadow wyvern, all eight knights were exhausted; however, Reece gritted his teeth and nodded his head.
'O' lightning elements in nature...'
Soon, Harper started chanting as Reece and other knights rushed towards the shadow wyvern to stop it from attacking Harper or escaping from here because it was clever enough to know Harper was a threat to it.
'Huh? A lightning mage? Interesting.'
Lucas knew how rare it was to find lightning mages in this Barren firmament. So, he felt curious to see what spell Harper would be using.
As for how he knew Harper was a lightning mage? It was because he could see the small lightning elements gathering around Harper.
'Also, what are those three mages doing?'
Another thing that caught Lucas's eyes was the three mages with varying strength between tier 2 to tier 4.
'Ding,
They are support-type mages who can increase the attack power of the Knights and Mages with their spells.
'Oh. This is new.'
Lucas felt like he learned a new thing today as he really felt it was interesting to watch the battles in this world as he could learn so much from them; however, he needed to be alive to use that knowledge.
Even though his predecessor was a young master of a top family from the fifth-ranked firmament, his father strictly forbade him from learning magic or information on the 'Way of mages'.
Nevertheless, he tried to secretly learn; however, there was only so much he could learn on his own without his father knowing about it.
So, Lucas didn't have much knowledge of the 'Way of mages'. So, he felt he needed to learn more about mages because he was sure that he would be killing mages in the future and he needed to learn as much as possible about them.
'Ding,
Other than the elemental classification of the mages, there was another classification depending on the spells that the mages learn.
'Ding,
They are, attack type mage, defence type mage, support-type mage and auxiliary type mage.
Soon, the system helped him understand another classification of the mages.
'Oh. So, it's like that.'
Just from the name, Lucas knew under what category that Harper named mage would fall and it was obviously an attack type.
'But, what about the auxiliary type mage? What spells can these mages from this category use?'
Lucas knew about the three types of mages; however, he didn't know anything about it. So, he asked the system since it was explaining everything.
'Ding,
An auxiliary type mage can use two or all three types of spells like attack, defence and support.
'So, I fall under this category.'
Lucas finally knew which category of mages he belonged to because he had all three types of spells.
"Lightning Storm."
Soon, Lucas heard a loud shout that brought him out of his learning as he saw a huge storm that was filled with many lightning sparks in it appear in the space above Harper's head.
"Everyone, move away."
Harper gave the warning to his teammates who hurriedly rushed towards Harper in a few seconds.
"Go."
As soon as his teammates were behind him, Harper released the huge lightning storm at Shadow wyvern which was trying to escape.
'Whoosh'
However, it was not fast enough to overfly the lightning storm as it got caught in the lightning storm.
'Roar'
'Roar'
Soon, painful cries of the shadow wyvern resounded from the lightning storm that continuously spun for another five minutes before disappearing into thin air.
'Thud'
As for the shadow wyvern, it fell to the ground, of course, it was dead.
'So powerful.'
Lucas, who saw the dead shadow wyvern on the ground and next looked at Harper and muttered, 'Only if I have such a powerful team working for me.'
After seeing the coordination of the team in front of him, Lucas felt he should make such a team for the Hellmore family.
The adventurer team in front of Lucas was guided by two leaders who supported and respected each other's decisions. Moreover, they were able to change the minor mistakes within no time and turned them to their advantage.
So, who doesn't want such an adventurer team; however, Lucas decided to make one team like this even though it was very hard.
Because the coordination and trust among the teammates would only come with time after going through a lot of trials and tribulations.
Clearing the adventurer team in front of him would have gone through a lot of such trials and tribulations.
'Anyway, it is time for me to end their lives; however, they have my respect.'
Currently, the twelve men adventurer's team was completely exhausted after fighting the rank 4 shadow wyvern. That's the reason why Lucas was confident in killing them.
With the kidnapping of his little brother, Lucas decided to keep the morals which he had yet to learn aside and kill everyone to get what he wanted.
So, there was no hesitation when he decided to kill him.
"Well well well...isn't this the Lightning squad?"
However, before he could jump off the tree, Lucas saw a general knight appear in front of the exhausted adventurer team with an evil smile on his face.
