--Republic Headquarters--
"Me and Anakin will head behind enemy lines and see what else we can dig up. While you two search the base for a possible traitor."
"Yes Sir."
Both Anakin and Kenobi were about to turn and leave the command room when a transmission beacon went off.
"Cody go ahead and play the Transmission."
"Master Windu, How can I help you?"
"I have received word that the Padawan you requested is on her way."
"That is good news but I already knew that? Is something else the matter?"
"Diesel is coming."
"I thought they weren't a part of the war?"
"Anakin, don't be naive. They've been a part of the war since the beginning. Not just supplying intel either. As you already know Captain Rex and his men are in the 300th supporting you."
"Of course I know that! I mean why is he coming here?"
"According to the reports he will be arriving with the Padawan and the rest of 300th." Both Jedi looked towards Master Windu and gave him a respective bow before closing off the transmission. Before Kenobi turned towards the other three and declared they should begin work towards finding the spy before they arrived.
*Time Skip to the Arrival*
Diesel and the 300th were joined by a Padawan on a few LAATs heading towards the planet of Christophsis. She was currently in a different LAAT then Diesel. At first she believed that he was just another clone of the GAR but after boarding the vessel with some clones of the 300th she learned otherwise. She quickly learned that these clones were different. They were like their own people, she could feel it in the force.
She took a moment and tried to focus on the vessel across from her and try to feel Diesel. The reaction she received was voided like endless space. It was like the being she was feeling nothing, no emotions or anything. Just commitment and fulfillment. Nothing else.
Ahsoka stopped and scanned the troops again and realized the differences again. It wasn't just in the force that made them different from the other troopers. The way they looked was completely different they wore pitch black armor. With 300th stamped on the shoulders in gold. The armor seems to be thicker but easier to move in. The way they handled themselves and spoke were completely different from the standard clone trooper. She wondered who these troopers were.
"Ms. Ashoka is something the matter?" Snapping back to reality the young Padawan turned towards the clone trooper quickly fixing the puzzled look on her face.
"Why are you so different compared to the other clones?" The concerned clones looked towards the little padawan and laughed.
"We are the 300th and serve under a Mandalorian named Diesel. One of the greatest warriors in the Galaxy."
The Jedi Order limited the amount of information a Padawan would receive although she felt like she heard the name Diesel before it. It didn't stick and just believed that the Jedi would still be able to beat the so called greatest warrior.
"Wouldn't you rather serve under a Jedi, protectors of the Galaxy?" Every single clone turned towards the young Padawan and a slight anger arose from them. Luckily the one in charge raised his hand to settle the troopers down.
"Not in the slightest." The anger was felt by the young Ashoka and it threw it off slightly as it was unexpected. From what she knew the Clones should be willing to serve under a Jedi. Or rather should be proud to serve under such a historic figure. Before she could speak out on her fellow Jedi's the ship landed and they were to exit as the sh.i.p.s opened the doors.
"Anakin go pick up the Padawan. She is going to be your new apprentice. I'll go meet Diesel."
"What?! A Padawan? I don't need a Padawan, it'll only slow me down."
"You're a knight now. This is a chance for you to expand your horizons and lead the future generation. This is an opportunity to pass on your knowledge. Anakin I believe you are ready."
"Fine. But I don't approve of this." Clearly upset Anakin started walking over to his new Padawan.
"I hope this is for the best." Kenobi only shakes his head and begined heading towards Diesel with Captain Rex and his five other troopers in tow.
--Ahsoka's Landing Craft--
Ahsoka looks around and notices Anakin standing alone as she dismounts from the LAAT and moves towards him. "Ahsoka Tano your new Padawan."
"Anakin Skywalker, your Jedi Master. But enough of this we have to get moving lets go. We can handle the introductions when we meet up with the rest." He turns and walks towards Kenobi who was now speaking to Diesel.
"Master where are we heading? To meet up with General Kenobi and Diesel." This time Ahsoka kept quiet and turned towards the now following 300th clone troopers and then at the 501st and 212th troopers standing near Kenobi. Then she noticed six of the 501st troopers were handed a set of armor similar to the ones that the 300th were using.
"Why are they receiving new armor, Master?"
"They are a part of the 300th but have been serving the 501st temporary. Now I'm going to need you to be quiet and listen." Just as he finishes they both arrive in front of Kenobi and Diesel.
"You've grown Anakin. Is this the new Padawan Master Kenobi was telling me about? Make sure you train her well."
"She is. And I'll try my best. Now what are you doing here? I doubt it's to deliver armor to Captain Rex and his men." Ahsoka finally took a good look at the pitched black armored Spartan with Red stripes going down his helmet. Her first thought was he is massive reigning close to seven feet tall.
"That is correct. The 300th and myself will take part of this battle and end it quickly. I'm here to see my men in action with the new gear. Also, I was telling Master Kenobi I'll be watching both of you and seeing how effective the teaching at the academy has done for you."
Ahsoka began to wonder who exactly this man was and why he was so confident in his and his troopers actions. Why didn't he bring any other Mandalorians with him. The questions kept piling up and she couldn't understand why he was able to speak to the Jedi as an equal.
Diesel looked at the now three Jedi. He couldn't help but feel disappointed. On his way over he read the reports from his Ghost. Even with his help they weren't to push the Separatist back. Instead they kept being pushed back slightly, Looking at the report the battle could have gone and finished in so many different ways. The tactics they were using were obviously being shared to the enemy.
If it wasn't for Captain Rex and Cody stepping up and finding the traitor. Diesel considered having the two Jedi go back to the academy. To be honest to Diesel all the Jedi reports he received ended in disappointment they were far too selfish and which led to far too many deaths. He felt it was time for them all to remember him and engrave in their minds. That the simple run in brainless isn't a valuable strategy. At some point they needed to learn.
The Jedi aren't Spartans, even then it's only the Spartan in the front while the rest of the troopers have been fighting tactically. It was then that the Separatist began attacking again.
