Chapter 541 - Portable Atelier

Eisen held the key in his hand and held it forward with the 'portable shop' wrapped around it. Soon after, the shop started slowly unwrapping until the door stood in front of Eisen. After that, Eisen could properly pull the key out of the keyhole and pushed it into one of his apron's pockets for now.

And as the house was folding open like that so that Eisen could see that it properly worked, the old man looked at the item information for the portable shop.

[Portable Shop]

[Rank – 5][Quality – Perfect]

[Description] A special type of spatial item created by the Omni Craftsmaster Eisen. It takes the form of a two-story house including an unfurnished shop, workshop and living area. It is the size of a regular two-story house in its normal form, but when it is folded up, it is small enough to be held in one hand.

The item was made to be stored rather easily and is activated through the turn of a key while the sufficient mana is supplied.

It will store any objects placed inside of it with itself.

[Requirements] 2000 Mana per use; 200 INT, 200 WIS

[Effects] ,

With a light smile on his face, the old man waved the notification away roughly around the time when the house was finishing up being folded open. Once it was done, Eisen pushed the door open and stepped in there and quickly looked everything over. He wanted to see if there were any sorts of damages in here, but luckily, nothing seemed to be out of place.

This way was really far better in the end, wasn't it? Using the door as the control center really was a good idea. He would have to thank Evalia later. And he already had a pretty good idea how he could thank her. They already spoke about something like this before, about having Eisen build houses for everyone on the islands, so he had worked together with Evalia to design all of them. Of course, that included Evalia's own house.

Eisen figured it would be a good idea to build a portable version of it now, "Sigurd. Head outside and ask how far away we're from the islands." The old man said as he started looking for the blueprints and sketches for Evalia's dream house, and a few moments later the core-guardian appeared right in front of him in a blue mist.

"Bree says a little less than a day." Sigurd explained, so Eisen slowly moved his fingers through his beard in thought. He should probably be able to finish it in that time. The place that he build was rather small compared to the house that he and Evalia had thought up for her, and he built the portable shop using materials he had ready.

This would probably take a little while longer, then. But the good thing was that he could build it inside of the dungeon, so he could work on it whenever he had the time no matter where they were anyway. Eisen started thinking about everything for a little bit. How much of which material he needed, as well as whether or not he actually had those materials here. It didn't actually seem like there would be any sort of issues.

And so, Eisen swiftly got started working on Evalia's house after moving over to an area where he could make sure Evalia wouldn't end up seeing him in case she logged on somehow. She was currently with Benji, so the old man figured it was pretty unlikely for her to pop in anytime soon, but it could happen so Eisen just wanted ot make sure.

Either way, Eisen just started to look down at the sketches and blueprints for the house for now. It was supposed to have a bit of a mixture of stone-brick and rather dark wood outwardly, together with a lot of glass for as much natural light as possible.

Since they thought about the structural, integrity a fair bit for this, the parts that outwardly had stone brick were actually built with stone-brick all the way through, and didn't just get a layer of stone brick on the outside.

Like that, they could make sure that the house had extra support in those places. Basically, the amount of stone brick used for everything decreased depending on the floor. The ground floor was mostly stone brick, and had just smaller areas and parts made of wood.

The second floor had roughly equal amounts of stone brick and wood, and the third floor had mostly wood and just partially stone-brick.

The ground floor was supposed to have things like a kitchen, material storage, and a bit more space to hold some of the heavier artistic pieces Evalia made like for example statues made of rock or even metal. The first floor had the 'living area' as well as space to display the regular artistic pieces like painting and smaller and lighter statues, while the third floor was basically completely occupied by the atelier and even had the most amount of glass so that Evalia could have a good view in any direction.

After Eisen built the simple pillar-based foundation, he started placing the stone-brick down first and only then placed down the wooden planks. Of course, right now it was just for the base, Eisen also properly constructed all of the load-bearing walls to make sure the house couldn't collapse onto itself. But other than those load-bearing walls, Eisen didn't really construct anything inside of the house just yet. He didn't even clothe the walls inside of the house with anything yet, and instead really just focused on the construction of the raw main structure.

When Eisen was finally done with that and everything was stable enough, he stepped into the actual house and started working on the interior. Not only the outside was supposed to have the stone-brick visuals, but the inside as well. Of course it was still supposed to be smooth and clean, and not have that kind of unfinished rudimentary feeling that many places built using stone-brick had.

And that was relatively easily achieved by, on the inside at least, mixing parts into the stone-brick walls that had some more wood. The places where there was wood as seen from the outside were where the walls were placed to divide the rooms, but these smaller areas of wood were a bit different. They were really just supposed to be for visuals. They wouldn't have any sort of structural benefit when it came to the integrity of the building, or have any sort of weight placed onto them at all. Besides decoration, of course, but that was a part that Evalia had to decide on her own anyway.

As they didn't discuss things like furnishing for everyone's dream-houses yet, they would all simply stay unfurnished and Eisen would get started on building furniture afterward while getting some other people's ideas on what visuals they wanted for their place.

Either way, Eisen placed those smaller parts of wood onto the walls just like Evalia had planned everything out, and then started working on other basic things like stairs to actually get to the second floor now. Evalia seemed to have had a bit of a modern style in mind for this, despite the rather rustic feel everything had otherwise, so it was a slight mixture of floating stairs that were just connected on the sides, as well as classic, decorated handrails as you would see in some older houses.

When Evalia told Eisen about this idea, he wasn't entirely sure about it at first, but the specific way that Evalia sketched it out it actually looked pretty nice. Eisen hoped that he was able to properly do it justice the way that Evalia had in mind. Although, otherwise he could just re-do this part of it, it wouldn't be that big a deal either.

It took most of the day, but soon, Eisen was finally done with everything. Although, it was still rather surprising to be able to finish building a whole house of this scale within a single day... He had the materials all ready and could easily make use of his giant-size as well as helpers in the form of his own mana doubles, or the three monster-children Sal, Caria and Melissa that would help Eisen set some things into their right place. Especially when Eisen was in his giant form it was fairly helpful, and the old man really appreciated that the three of them did all that for him.

Still, the fact that Eisen had now reached the heights of being able to build whole houses in a single day felt a little bit weird to the old man. Even then, he had to accept it. It wasn't a bad thing, anyway. It was a really good thing, it just meant that Eisen had become more skillful and capable ever since starting to 'play' this 'game'. He saw progress that he really hadn't expected seeing in his lifetime anymore. Eisen was really glad about that, really.

Either way, for now, before he could dive into such thoughts, Eisen had to continue turning this place into a portable house. But in the end, Eisen had a little bit of an idea to possibly make everything a little easier. He first combined a large amount of spatial gems together and then started the magic-inscription process. Eisen already figured out how many 'spots' he would need for the whole house if he wanted to create it in this specific new way. He split the large clumb of spatial gems up into three parts, practically assigning each of those parts one floor, and then started splitting off the 'spots' in the regular way.

When he finished everything, Eisen got started on building the actual control centers. Because what Eisen wanted to try doing now was to have every floor fold up on its own to make it a bit less mana-intensive. After all, it would take quite a lot of mana to spread the effects all the way to the far corner of the third floor from the ground floor's front door.

So now, the third floor would fold up onto a single wall first as controlled by the sub-center on the third floor, and would fold down so that it could be part of the second floor's process. The same thing would happen there until only one wall was left, and that would then fold down onto the ground floor, which would then be the last to properly fold up onto the door, just to wrap around the key.

And when Eisen was done setting all of this up properly and let it fold up once, Eisen held the box with the key inside of it in his hand and saw it as finished. At the same time, two notifications appeared.
