Chapter 338 – “From the looks of it, Madam looks like she was hurting.” (2)

Zhao Xian was the only one gripping tightly onto her paintbrush, her teeth about to be crushed from how hard she was clenching her teeth.

She refused to believe it!

She was the prettier and more refine one from the very beginning and had attracted more attention from wealthy people. How was it that Gu Shishi got so lucky?

She had worked so hard on securing Luo Zheng then, one day, just like that, he had no more money. And he even dumped her!

Gu Shishi, on the other hand, turned and become the wife of a prestigious family overnight!

Gu Shishi had become the kind of successful woman that she had wanted to be the most!

She didn’t need to do anything and could just become someone who had say over others, and one that others would fawn over just like that!

Zhao Xian could feel a fire burning in her.

Everybody in the art studio was surrounding Gu Shishi and fawning over her.

All these belonged to her originally!

She had found another boyfriend recently who was already quite wealthy.

He had been bringing her lunch everyday and, while he was at it, brought with him desserts for others.

All the others in the art studio were envy of her.

In fact, many of them had asked her to introduce them to quality, elite boyfriends and had been trying hard to appease her!

But, today…

“Zhao Xian, why are you still standing in the corner? Come over and greet Boss Shishi quickly!”

“Ah, Boss Shishi, you probably don’t know this yet. Zhao Xian just got herself a new boyfriend and he has even been bringing us cake and afternoon tea daily.”

“Yeah, another rich young master professed his love for her after she had broken up with Mr. Luo. We can almost hear the wedding bells.”

Zhao Xian’s face turned from red to white, then white to black.

She was with a rich man but getting married was a whole different story.

Everything she brought up family, the man went quiet.

She wanted to meet his parents and he would change the subject every time.

Rich men had no shortage of young and pretty girls around them and Zhao Xian had no idea how long she could keep his interest. The best she could do was to be coquettish as much as possible while they were still in the honeymoon period and get as much out of it as she could.

Ling Xiaomei, on the other hand, chuckled and said, “Zhao Xian-jie is such an outstanding girl. Needless to say, she will need time to think things over if she is to marry this man. Am I right? I’ve sent a few days on the island attending the wedding and I’ve heard that the entire island was rented out and, along with Shishi’s wedding gowns and jewelries, etc., the entire wedding cost hundreds of million yuan.”

Everybody exclaimed in surprise.

Zhao Xian even snapped the paintbrush in her hand into halves. The jealousy that she was feeling at the moment was swallowing her up whole.

Envy! Envy, jealousy, hatred!

So much that she could puke out blood!

Obviously her boyfriend wouldn’t be able to match that!

She had looked him up online. His family had about 200 – 300 million yuan in liquid assets at most.

Gu Shishi, on the other hand, blushed and waved her hand. “No, not that much.”

“The crown was what caused the most but, according to him, it was an investment in art.”

It would be passed down as family heirloom and would also appreciate overtime. It did not count towards excessive expenditure.

As for the wedding gowns, they, too, could become collectors’ items if they were well kept.

As for reserving their own island, the boss’s explanation was “too noisy with the big crowd”. Similar concept to flying first class versus one’s private plane.

As soon as she had finished talking, everybody exclaimed again. “Crown?? With diamonds on it??”

“I have a picture! I have a picture!”

Ling Xiaomei raised her hand quickly but then she also immediately whispered to Gu Shishi, “I just want to antagonize Zhao Xian. She had been stuck up for so long!”

Gu Shishi patted her, “Low-key, okay?”
