"Pfft," Regan giggled to herself as she dissed Vixen in her mind.
"'Pfft'?" Vixen growled placing down his phone momentarily, "I don't know what type of snarky comments you're making about me in your head. But make sure you consider how I have to deal with you daily."
"...YOU-" Regan began, stuffing her face with a biscuit to stop herself from continuing since he was right anyway. "I must be really hard to take care of."
"Yes," Vixen replied, locking eyes with Regan, "you are."
'Right,' Regan muttered to herself, 'I must be hard to have around.'
She watched as he went back to his game and slurped another spoon of soup. 'I have no grasp on my emotions, I have no idea how to control my feelings or my words. I want the quick way out of paying for the lives I took and every day I drown my head in thoughts of killing myself without having the guts to do so. If being in the presence of a killer wasn't enough, he had to be next to a pathetic one.'
"You can stop with all of does self-condemnation thoughts because it isn't as bad as you think it is," Vixen muttered while playing on his phone.
"Huh?" Regan replied, looking up from her bowl of soup.
"I'm not repeating myself," Vixen sighed.
"Ah… ok," Regan replied, turning back to her food, a slight smile on her face.
They sat in silence but the air hung calmly, not as stiff as it usually engulfed Regan.
DING!
Regan turned to Vixen in surprise, the game sound all too familiar to her.
"Knights of the Night?!" she exclaimed.
Vixen looked up to her questionably, "yes?"
"OMG, I LOVE THAT GAME!!!" She squealed, jumping up from her seat at the table and running to Vixen's side, flopping down beside him.
"WHAT LEVEL ARE YOU?!" She asked excitedly, leaning in close to Vixen to look at his phone.
"99? Why?" Vixen asked, his guard going up.
"Ooo that's pretty good I guess," Regan grinned, snatching the phone from Vixen's hand.
"Excuse you," Vixen growled, plucking his phone out of Regan's hand, "do NOT touch my phone."
"Hmph," Regan huffed, pouting.
"What do you want now?" Vixen sighed, continuing the game.
"I'm just glad to see someone playing my game," Regan giggled.
"Yea, yea, so w- WHAT?!" Vixen jumped back in shock.
Regan flinched from Vixen's sudden movement before chuckling at his stunned expression, "Wow, that's the best expression I've gotten out of you in all my time here."
Vixen stared at her for a moment before restoring his composure and sitting back down beside Regan, "Don't joke about things like that, don't ruin my master's reputation."
"'Master'?" Regan repeated her eyebrows rising in amusement, "I didn't know I had a fan club."
Vixen stared at Regan in disbelief, letting out an irritated sigh, "you can stop with your jokes now, you're going too far."
"The nam- OF COURSE I HAVE!" Vixen growled in anger, "ITS CALLED RNDN CORPORATION!"
"Hm, ever wondered what the RNDN stood for?" Regan smirked.
"No? Why would I? You seriously need to stop with thi-"
"The R is for my first name and N my middle name, the D for the first letter of my last name and N for the last letter," Regan explained.
"... ok so a freaky coincidence there, so what?" Vixen refuted, "I'm not that gullible."
"Maybe you should have done your homework on my company," Regan sighed mockingly, blowing at the invisible speck of dust on her fingernails.
"Homework?" Vixen's eyes twitched. He forced a smug smile on his face and waved his phone, "ok then. Let's do it together."
He exited the game and began searching for the company's owner.
"WAIT! DON'T DO TH-" Regan warned, burying her face in her hands when she noticed his frozen face.
"N-no way," he whispered, flabbergasted at the face his eyes stared at.
He turned to Regan and back to the picture, then raised his phone to her face swiftly, wildly tapping the picture, "WHY IS YOUR FACE AND NAME ON HERE?!"
Regan shifted backward from Vixen's sudden approach, "...because I'm the CEO?"
"HOW? WHAT? WHEN? WHY???" Vixen pressed, moving closer to Regan as she frantically moved away from him.
"Um… I started a company with my parent's help?" Regan answered nervously, "could you please no-"
"A COMPANY?! THIS ISN'T JUST A COMPANY!! THIS IS THE LARGEST GAME COMPANY, AND YOU OWN IT?!" Vixen yelled, his voice rising higher by the second as he failed to comprehend the words that came out of Regan's mouth.
"I-it is a company though? And yes, I am the CEO," Regan answered quickly as she continued to crawl away from Vixen.
"AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?! I WAS IN THE PRESENCE OF ONE OF THE BEST PROGRAMMERS IN THE WORLD, GREETED YOU EVERYDAY-"
"Like I was some stray pet, not a rock," Regan interrupted.
"FED YOU FOOD DAILY-"
"Fed me? You look like you wanted to shove it down my throat at any time,"
"HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH THE BEST PERSON IN THE WORLD-"
"That's an overstatement and you barely talked to me unless you were asked a question. Even after that, most of your comments were insults,"
"AND DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOU WERE?!"
"Yes and STOP COMING SO CLOSE TO ME!" Regan begged. She was pinned to the side of her bed now with Vixen looming over her, inches away from her face.
"HOW? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" Vixen scolded, slamming his hand into the side of her bed beside the left side of her face and his other hand on the right side.
"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW HOW?!" Regan yelled, anger slowly welling up in her, "AND YOU NEVER ASKED!! AM I SUPPOSED TO JUST BE LIKE, 'oh, by the way, I'M THE FREAKING CEO OF RNDN?!' WHO DOES THAT?!"
"YOU!!" Vixen refuted, leaning in closer, his face twisted in frustration, "YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME!!"
"ME? I'M SUPPOSED TO MENTION SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN THIS PLACE? I'M ASHAMED OF MYSELF!" Regan screamed, her eyes tightly shut, "I DON'T DESERVE THAT TITLE WHILE I'M IN THIS PLACE! THESE HANDS THAT BUILT THAT GAME-"
She waved frantically in Vixen's face, "THESE HANDS THAT BUILT THE GAME THAT YOU LOVE HAD SOMEONE ELSE'S BLOOD ON THEM!" She screamed in desperation, "AREN'T YOU ASHAMED TO LIKE MY GAMES?! AREN'T YOU DISGUSTED?!"
