21 - CHAPTER XIX RELEASE OF ANXIENCE

I had a rather unpleasant thought, but for now, let's make fertilizer. After about an hour of hard stirring, the soil was pulverized into a fine sand-like substance.

Phew. That was a lot of work. Now let's mix it with the soil. I'll use less fertilizer on the bottom part, since the nutrients will flow from the top to the bottom if I water it.

"You're done. What's next?"

"Oh, Sylphie. I'm done. Next we'll rake in the soil and fertilizer. There are some lumps in the soil that need to be broken up. But it won't take too long because we just have to stir it up."

"Yeah. Good luck."

Am I a lucky guy that even a simple encouragement can get me fired up? Well, it's an easy way to feel good. Let's just say I have a good personality.

Once the fertilizer is stored in the mortar, soil is put in the mortar instead. Then, the fertilizer is added to the mortar. It will be at the bottom of the bowl, and should be quite small.

Turn the hammer in the mortar to mix the soil and the fertilizer. The hardened soil will break into pieces as soon as you hit it lightly with the hammer. After mixing the soil and fertilizer thoroughly, the mortar is put away and placed back next to the planned field.

Raise the shovel and throw the soil in the mortar into the planned field.

Bell. Can the wind level the soil in the field?"

"Yes, I can!"

"Well, please do."

"Okay!"

As the dirt is thrown into the planned field, Bell manipulates the wind to flatten the soil." Cue "Hmm? Rain, what's going on?

"Cue cue."

I'm not sure whether to turn toward Bell or turn my head into the hole.

"Rein wants to help, too!"

Rain's head bobs up and down happily as Bell interprets. Belle understands Rain's words. I had no idea even though we had a contract.

"I see. I'll have Rain water the soil. Just enough to moisten the soil a little bit, okay?"

"Cuui cuui."

Looks like you can do it. I was planning to sprinkle a lot of water on the top at the end, but as long as the water is just moistening it, it will be less to sprinkle on the top.

"Well then, Rain, please."

"Cuey!"

Rain squealed, and a mist appeared on top of the sprinkling and was sucked into the soil. That's amazing. I throw some dirt in, and Belle flattens it with the wind, and Rain moistens it with the mist. It's all going well.

When all the soil is thrown in, the manure and soil are mixed again. When the mixing is finished, it is thrown back into the site.

. and Repeat over and over.

"That's it. Rain, can you sprinkle more water on top? Just enough to get the soil wet.

"Cue."

The water pours down on the field like rain, and when the field is still and wet, Lane turns off the water.

"Bell. Rain. Thank you, both of you. Thanks to you, the field is complete.

"Good job!"

"Cue."

The two jumped in and I patted them on the head while thanking them firmly. Belle and Raine press their heads against my hands. I'm not sure if I'm petting them or they're rubbing their heads together. Sylphy and Dine come over to my side and I ask them about it.

"Sylphy. Dene. Do you know how this field looks like? Is it going well?"

"I don't know, I don't know."

"Yuta. I can see that the water is well moistening the soil."

"Yes. Thank you, Deanne. I hope the soil is good enough for the spirit of the soil to come to ...... and see what happens."

I've done what I can, but I'm a complete novice at improving the soil. I'm worried about it.

"Tomorrow morning. I'll call the spirit of the soil. You'll never know if you think about it."

It's like waiting for the return of a test you're not sure about at all. At least I can avoid a red mark.

"I know, but I can't stop thinking about it. Well, I'll think of something else if I can."

"You'd better."

Stow the dried fish and get ready for dinner. The dried fish didn't look dried enough, so I'll dry them again tomorrow. We'll have grilled fish for dinner.

**

After dinner, I was going to have a cup of coffee today, but I have a difficult conversation to have with you, so I won't. It's a cup of coffee and I want to feel good about it.

"Sylphie. Deanne. Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"What? What's wrong?

He looks a little worried. Sylphy is so sweet. She doesn't have a contract with us, so she doesn't owe us anything, but even though she says she can't help us directly, she lends us her hand as much as she's allowed.

Even if we break up because of this conversation, I'll never forget how grateful I am to him. I don't want to break up with him if I can help it.

"Yuta, are you okay?"

"No. I just noticed something I don't like. Can you just listen to me while I talk about it?"

"Okay. Tell me."

"Yeah. I don't know, but I seem to have an affinity with spirits, you know, the ones that can see and touch me."

"Yes. That's more than I've ever heard. I can talk to him at best. It's extremely rare to be able to see them, and I've probably never been able to touch them before."

"You surprised me too, sister!"

Somehow, when Dineh talks, I feel less nervous.

"So, I was wondering if my tool could get the spirits involved. My tools are so powerful that it would be terrible if they got involved."

"As I said before, tools do not have the ability to attack things that are not real. So they are not a threat to the spirits.

"I thought so too, but I actually touch the genie. Bell had a firm grip on my clothes. I don't think you can say that a tool won't ever hit you. Don't be sure. I don't want Belle and Lane to get caught in the middle of this."

I said it. Sylphy and Dine's faces changed. What's going to happen?

"...... sure does. Let's give it a try. Yuta. Bring out the hammer."

I do as Sylphy tells me and bring out the hammer.

"Okay, I'll try to touch it without magic power.

"Oh, oh."

Sylphy touches the head of the hammer and it slips through. Oh, it doesn't hit me.

"Now let Yuta touch the hammer lightly, as if he's going to touch my hand. Just enough to really touch it, please."

"Wow, okay."

He moves the hammer carefully and puts his intention to touch Sylphy's hand. Slowly, really slowly, I let it touch her hand, and it fell into her hand without any reaction.

"That was okay, wasn't it? I was a little nervous.

Sylphy, Dine, and I exhale loudly.

"Thank God!"

I was seriously relieved.

"I was so nervous when Yuta told me about you. But Yuta. But Yuta... it's an amazing thing to have the ability to work with spirits. It's strange that you're happy that it doesn't work.

"I don't know if I'm strange, but I only know spirits. It would be too sad if the spirits don't like me because of this.

"Oh, my. I've been known to be a bit of a jerk, but I've never left you."

"So did your sister."

"Well, maybe you two are, but a spirit I've never talked to before will be wary of me. They might think I'm dangerous. It's better not to have the power to put me in a situation like that.

"Yuta, you're a good boy. I'm so impressed with you.

If the genie is really after you, you're completely screwed. It's bad enough to have the weakness of someone you don't want to make an enemy of.

"Some spirits would certainly be wary. Yuta's concern is not wrong. Well, Yuta can catch us with his bare hands..."

"If I fight with my bare hands, can I manage?"

"...... I wonder if a floating spirit could manage. Well, even if you do, it won't be a bonus, so don't do it."

"I've never particularly wanted to catch a genie. Speaking of which, where is that floating genie that Belle brought with her before?"

That marimo-looking thing. I've been so busy I forgot he's nowhere to be found, right?

"Oh, she's drifting off somewhere, carried away by the wind. Don't worry. It's a good time to start. What are you going to do about leveling up?

"Yeah, I'll be counting on you today."

I'm relieved. It turned out to be an unnecessary worry, but I was stressed out, so I'll let the demons take care of me.

**

When I woke up and went out to the kitchen, Belle and Rain jumped on me. We greet each other in the morning, patting each other on the head and having breakfast.

When I went outside, Dine appeared and I greeted her and asked her about Sylphy.

She says hello and asks about Sylfie. "Sylfie went to pick up the spirits. I wonder who she is going to bring. I'm looking forward to it.

A new spirit. I wonder what kind of spirit. I hope it's a s*xy lady with a mysterious and seductive charm, as they say, "Mother Earth". Deene has some good things, but she is not good enough in terms of s*x appeal. Let's hope for the spirit of the earth.

"Yuta! Are you thinking something bad?"

Deanne asks, narrowing her eyes at me. What, you're a natural, but you're perceptive about this kind of thing? How annoying.

"No. I'm not thinking about it."

"Really?

He's being ever so persistent.

"Oh, I was just wondering what kind of spirits would come and how Hatake would be judged."

"I see. That's funny. My sister's spanking radar was responding to the shocks."

Are you equipped with that kind of radar? Does radar exist in this world in the first place?

"Does radar exist in this world?"

"Is there one in Yuta's world? It's a magic that sends magic power to the surrounding area to detect it."

"I wonder if there is something similar."

From the name, I wonder if this magic was created by a person who, like me, was transferred from the earth.

"Has that radar magic been around for a long time?"

"It's pretty new. I don't think it's been here for 500 years.

Five hundred years is new. You underestimated the spirits. And they might not even be alive.

"Oh. Yuta. He's back."

I looked in the direction Deanne pointed and saw Sylphy and two spirits I'd never seen before flying towards us ......, a Dwarf father and son.
