36 - CHAPTER XXIV -- DAILY CONVERSATION

"Hey, Yuta. Can we go on an expedition soon?"

Ten nights after planting the seeds in the forest space. Sylphy made me a proposal for the next level up.

"I want to level up too, so an expedition is no problem, but can we do it in two or three days?

"That's up to Yuta, but does he have any plans?"

I mean, you're going on an expedition and won't be back for a while, right? Dolly told me that the vegetables are almost ready to be harvested. I'd like to pick them when they're at their best and eat them when they're at their best."

"Oh, my. You're a little ahead of schedule. Is the soil okay?"

"Yes, Tulu and Tamamo took good care of them, so they are perfectly safe. It's because they took good care of it every day."

"Hmm. That's good to hear. If it's vegetables you've been waiting for, I'm afraid you'll be distracted if you don't eat them before you leave."

That's right. When I was in Japan, I was a meat lover, but when I came to a place where there is no greenery at all, I fell in love with vegetables. I think the reason I don't crave meat so much is because of the zombies I encounter almost every day. In a way, I think it helps that when I do crave meat, there is no meat to be found.

Well, I plan to eat a lot of meat when I get to town, but for now it's vegetables. Every morning we take a walk in the field together, watering the vegetables, watching the magic of the tamamos, and taking good care of them. Other seeds sown at the same time have sprouted, still small but shimmering with green.

The first vegetable that sprouted is growing day by day, and now it is covered with lush green leaves. If it weren't for Dolly's advice to wait a little longer, I would have eaten them already.

This vegetable looks like komatsuna (Japanese komatsuna) to me, but it is called oilleaf. I'd like to make soaked vegetables, but I don't have granulated soup stock, so I'm wondering how to eat them.

"Hey Yuta! Did you hear what I said?

Sylphy's voice brings me back to reality. A slightly puffy Sylphy ...... feels like she's seen something good.

"Hmm? Oh, sorry, Sylphy. I was just fantasizing about how to eat it."

"Hmm. I can't help it. Well, you won't be able to concentrate on the expedition in your current state, so let's wait until after you've eaten your vegetables.

"I'm sorry to be so selfish, but it's for my own good."

For us spirits, two or three days is nothing. Don't worry about it and take good care of your vegetables.

"Ha-ha-ha. They grow better when I leave them alone and let them do the work."

Sadly, I have been observing from a distance lately because I have been watering too much and almost crushing the sprouts that have just appeared. Especially, the space in the forest is quite dangerous because of the lack of rows.

Well, it would be lonely not to be involved at all, so I carefully water only the nearby areas.

"Well, well, they are spirits, you know. It's only natural that they can take care of them better than Yuta.

"Ha-ha-ha, that's right. You're a genie, aren't you?"

There's something funny going on here. Let's change the subject.

"By the way, if we go on an expedition, we might be able to get up to the level needed for a contract in one shot. You said the contract would be more spectacular with the big spirits, but isn't there something we need?"

"There are a lot of enemies to gain experience from, so the chances of getting to a higher level are pretty good. The contract is just a few more steps, but there is nothing special you need. The fancy ones are available at ......, but you'll have to wait and see."

I was rushed! When the Great Spirit says something fancy, I'm afraid I don't know how big it is.

"Is this for fun? I'm curious, but I'm waiting with great anticipation.

"I don't think you need to get your hopes up. It's best to keep an open mind.

"Really? Since the Great Spirit says it's going to be fun, you have to be somewhat prepared, or it's going to get ugly.

"You say 'Great Spirit,' but Yuta still doesn't really know how great the Great Spirit is, does he?"

You're right, I don't understand. I haven't seen him use his great power, so it's hard to judge.

"I know it's kind of great, but when I see Dine, I think of the Great Spirit as ......."

"What's ....... Did Deanne do something?"

"Not that I did anything, but the other day I woke up early and went for a morning walk and found Dine floating in the fountain like a corpse, sleeping like a bomb. I was quite surprised, but at the same time I thought, "That's not right. Spirits can disappear, right?"

"Yes. It's not so much that they disappear, it's more like they dissolve into their own attributes. ...... I'll keep that in mind."

"Didn't I tell you about my sister?"

Deanne appeared out of nowhere. I don't know what the logic is, but I don't understand why she would surprise even Sylphy, who has excellent detection. Can't she move at a moment's notice?

"Oh, oh. Did you hear what I said?"

I didn't hear you. I just had a feeling.

"Oh, yeah."

Deene is a natural, but she also has a wild sense of nature, which is a bad quality or something. .......

"So what were you talking about? Like what you like about your sister?"

What's with the confidence. Why do you look so smug there.

"No. I was talking about Deanne's problems."

"Uh. I don't have anything like that. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that.

"The other day, Yuta was taking a morning walk and found Dine floating in the fountain. She was sleeping like a corpse, you say?"

"Yuta. It's bad manners to look at a lady's sleeping face."

Why am I to blame?

"I'm not asking you to melt in the water, but if you're going to sleep, do it somewhere less conspicuous. You know that Yuta can see the spirits clearly, don't you?

"I don't think it's strange for a water spirit to sleep floating in water. In this case, it's best to pretend we didn't see each other, right?"

"Why the question mark? Deanne didn't even know she was being watched. She only saw it one way."

"Oh, my God."

"Why are you staring at me? Normally, if a person floats on the water and doesn't move an inch, you'd check them out.

"There are only spirits here, Yuta, so you must be a convinced criminal. He must have been curious about his sister.

I do think Deanne is a beautiful woman, but she's the type of beauty that comes with a head of shame. I don't dream about Deanne anymore.

"Phew."

"Ah. Sylphy-chan. Yuta, you just laughed through your nose. He laughed when he saw you.

"Yes, I did. Yuta. You shouldn't laugh through your nose, no matter how much you like Dineh.

"What's that, Sylphie? I'm starting to feel a little sad.

Oh, no. Did I tease you too much? He makes eye contact with Sylphy and shifts gears to comfort her.

"Well, you know. Deanne likes me, that's why she's so careful and worried about me. When I saw Deanne floating in the water and sleeping, I was very worried (mainly about my head)."

"Yes, I guess you don't pay attention to people when you don't care about them."

Deane left in a good mood.

"Sylphie. I don't really know what the Great Spirit is like."

"Yes, you're right. I'm glad you think it's pretty awesome."

Sylphy said as she let out a sigh. Well, don't worry, I know that Deanne is a bit strange.

I understand. So ...... what were we talking about?"

"Oh, uh, yes, the contract thing. What do you want when you get to town, Yuta?"

I'm thinking of things I can't talk about with women, but I don't think that's the kind of question you're looking for an answer to right now.

"I don't know what I want to do, but I don't know what I can do. Well, I think I can eat vegetables, so I guess meat is next. I also want to sleep on a soft bed, not sand."

"It's kind of modest. Is that all?"

"The simplest desire is the one I just mentioned. I have many other desires, such as to travel, to be an adventurer, to be a merchant, to make a lot of money, and so on.

Adventurers will be able to do my blueeeeee with Sylphy and his friends. Depending on the civilization, I can become a merchant and take the knowledge cheat.

"Adventurers and merchants. I don't know about the merchant's talent, but I'm sure he'll have no problem being an adventurer. Yuta's tools alone are very powerful physically, and he has contracts with multiple spirits. The magic side is also very strong.

The biggest cheat of all is that I can see and talk to spirits. The pioneering tools are great too, but they're not very simple. .......

"Speaking of magic, should I learn some spirit magic when I go to town? I'm kind of self-styled at the moment, so I'm not sure what's going on."

I think it is better to learn special techniques, how to communicate with spirits, and so on. Ignorance may come back to bite you in the ass.

"Hmmm...I guess so. I don't think Yuta will learn anything, but it would be good for him to know the difference between himself and the common spiritualists. He doesn't seem to understand what we are talking about. Well, I think just observing is enough. Also, spirits use magic and people use witchcraft, so when you go to town, tell them it's witchcraft."

Doesn't ring a bell? In my opinion, it's a cheat ability, but I'm still not fully aware of it, am I? And I'm a little embarrassed that there's a distinction between magic and witchcraft.

Hmm? But what about life magic? It's magic, right?"

"Magic is not wrong. Living magic is magic because it is something fundamental that anyone with magical power can learn. Magic is the use of skill and magic power. It became popular because it is efficient and powerful with little magic power. But it's much less flexible."

A sorcerer is a professional technician who works with magic. It's kind of elite.

"There are a lot of distinctions. Well, I'll check it out when I get to town. It's a different world with a very different set of norms."

"That's good. You should also think about where you want to go. I'll take you to the places you want to go if I can.

"Thank you. I look forward to it.

We need to think as carefully as possible so that we can get where we want to go.
