83 - Episode 81 Contract with Dine

The fountain is finally completed. After storing it in my magic bag, I was about to return to the fountain house when I saw the wonderfully clear ocean.

Maybe next time I can bring Sara and the kids and we can go swimming in the sea. Oh, I need to buy a swimsuit. Do they have swimsuits to begin with? I'll ask Marie when I get to the labyrinth city. If we can make a contract with Dine, it will be safe to play in the sea.

She said she launched sea dragons to the sky. I'm sure Deene can handle most of the demons.

Yuta. What's wrong?"

"Hmm? Yeah, I was thinking of taking Sara and the kids for a swim after I sign the contract with Dine. I heard that there are strong demons in the sea, but if Deene is there, we can play safely, can't we?"

"I'm sure you can play safely with Dine, but using the power of the Great Spirit for fun?"

"What? No?"

No, on second thought, no. You said spirits don't care about their status, but they're still one rank below kings. If we were talking about nobility, would that make him a duke? I think it would be offensive to ask such a spirit to protect us as we play in the sea. I stand corrected.

It's not a no-no. I'm just surprised because I didn't expect it. I'm sure Deanne will have fun with you, but, well, no problem."

Permission was granted before I could correct it. If it's not a problem, it's fine. Maybe they'll even take us for a walk under the sea.

"Good. Having a place to play in the land of the dead will encourage them in their training. Let's go show Dine the fountain so they can play in the sea. Sylphie, please?

I ask Sylphy to wrap me in a cocoon of wind, and we fly to the fountain house. The difference in speed is so great that it makes me sad that I was walking so hard.

When we arrived at the fountain and landed in front of it, Belle and the others immediately noticed us and came flying in. Sarah and the others came running after them. Sara and the others woke up. If they were able to take a good nap, they will be fine for the night ......?

"YUTA. Welcome back... cue... welcome back... coo...

The belles come charging in and clinging to you as soon as you say the word. It's so nice to be greeted like this, even though we haven't been apart for that long. As I was petting them, I heard Dine's voice from right behind me.

"Yuta! Is the fountain ready?"

I turned around to see a curious and smiling Dine. I wanted to say when, but I guess she had melted into the fountain.

"Yeah, I don't know if she'll like it, but I did my best."

"Uh-huh. Yuta. You worked hard for your sister. You're a good boy."

Huh? That's mildly irritating. ...... Calm down. Sara and the others are here, and you'll only scare them off if you raise your voice. And Dine. I don't want you to wiggle.

"Master. Welcome back, master.

Oh, it took Kikka a while, but she said welcome home in a normal voice. It's only been a day in the land of the dead, but she's making progress.

"I'm home. Did everyone sleep well? We're going to do a little training at night starting today, are you going to be okay?"

"Yes. I'll do my best. Uri showed me a lot of magic.

Sara seems motivated, but so is Marco. Perhaps Uri's magic has improved his impression of the necromancer.

...... Dine, I'm talking to the kids right now, so don't pull my sleeve. Are you so excited that you can't wait? I don't like it when the bar is raised that high. So I tell Sarah and the others to stay away and turn to Dineh.

"Dene. I'll set up a fountain, but you have to do something about the water in the fountain.

"Okay. I'll see you in a minute."

Smiling, he waves his hand and the water from the fountain splashes down to the well. It reminded me of the scene of a great prophet splitting the sea. Well, the sea and the fountain are very different, but I wonder if Dine can crack the sea.

"Yuta. I'll hold him back, you can go in now."

"Wow, okay."

I'm a little nervous, but the fantastical sight makes me a little nervous. The water, divided on both sides, is held perfectly in place, glistening in the sun's rays. It looks like an aquarium could be built by putting fish in it. Do we really need a fountain when we can do all this? ...... You never know what Dineh is thinking. I'm going to get a headache, so I'm not going to think about it.

Out of curiosity, I touch the wall of water and my hand slips into the wall of water. Let's see, the water is not solidified. I guess water is still water. I'm going to get a flat head if I don't get over the theory that it's magic. Let's enjoy the now, which is fantastic in a way.

We arrive at the well, jumping down the one-meter-high steps. Looking up, I see that the well is cylindrical and the water has been evacuated, so much so that the light is reflected diffusely and dazzlingly. Is it really appropriate to ask them to use so much power when we haven't even signed the contract yet? I wonder if it's because they are responding to Dine's request as they did with Nomos, that there is no problem.

Looking up in a daze, I see Belle and her friends joined by Fukuchan Uri swimming around in the fountain. They seem to like to go through the part where the water is pushed away from them, and they are enjoying it as much as they can, going back and forth from left to right. I'm a little jealous.

Oh, no, no, no. I'd better get the fountain installed. With Sylphy's help, I set up the rock pipe. We connect the rock pipes to the surface of the water, and carefully set the fountain in place. I can hear Dine's voice in the distance, but I ignore it for now, as this is an important moment.

"I think we're done. ......

You don't seem very confident.

"I've never built anything before, and I've never built a fountain before, so it's weird to be so confident."

Sylphy nodded her head in agreement. I know, I'm being asked a lot of crazy questions. We continued our flight and landed next to Dine.

"Deanne. Slowly turn the water back on."

Uh-huh. Okay, okay.

The water slowly returns to its original state as the happy Dine waves her hand. When the water was completely restored, Deanne flew away with a "I'll go check it out! I am curious about the evaluation.

"Excuse me, master. What's going on?

Sara asked with a question mark in her head. When you suddenly break a fountain and install a fountain, you have to wonder about it. If they didn't know it was a fountain, they would have even more questions.

"Hmm? Oh, you know Dine ...... the condition of making a contract with Dine, the Great Spirit of Water, was to build a fountain. So I made a fountain and installed it.

"I see. There are conditions to signing a contract with a genie, aren't there?

"No. No. Usually there are no conditions, so don't worry. In my case, since I can talk, it's like they added some kind of condition. Sarah and the others can't talk to each other even if the spirits try to make conditions, so I don't think they'll make any conditions.

There is a small chance that I could be used as an interpreter, but we'll see. Oh, Dine is back.

"Thanks Yuta! I really like your sister. It's simple, but I surely felt your feelings, Yuta. It's so beautiful with so much love."

Dene spins around with her arms outstretched. Which heroine is she? But ...... my feelings? That's a pain in the ass. Well, Dine has helped me a lot, and I guess I'm grateful to her somewhere. ...... Well, if she's happy, that's good.

"I'm glad you like it, I worked hard on it. Is this acceptable?"

"Well, the center hole is fine, but the other holes need to be doubled in size. That should do it."

That's easy enough. I ask Sylphy to take me to the fountain again and widen the hole with a hand auger while listening to Dine's opinion. In less than ten minutes, I had widened the hole.

"Yes. That's good enough. "That's good enough, Yuta. Let's make a contract with your sister.

That's out of the blue. I'd like to see you put a little more emphasis on the atmosphere. I guess there's nothing I can say.

"Okay. I'm counting on you.

"Hmm. Leave it to me. Sylphy, take Yuta down to the water in front of the fountain.

What? What do you mean you're going to put me down on the water? Oh, Sylphie. Don't lose altitude.

Wait a minute. If we're going to take a dip, I'd like to take off my clothes.

I'm fine.

What's all right? We reach the surface before we know what's going on. ...... What's that? Oh, it's a little bit muddy, but the surface of the water catches my feet and I don't sink. Ha-ha, I'm standing on water. It's a different feeling from flying. I'm a ninja.

I wonder if Rain could have done it if I asked him. There are so many things we can do that we don't even realize we can do. I'll have to think about it and ask around.

"Well, Yuta. Let's start. It's not so different from what you did with Sylphy, so please be calm.

Okay. Go ahead."

Dine smiles at my words and puts her hands out in front of her. At the same time, the water spurts from the fountain and the water in the fountain surges as if dancing. The water from the fountain and the water from the fountain glow with magical power and fly around me like a dragon with a will.

The water from the fountain did not fall, but formed a large sphere in the sky above me, and as if compressed, it became smaller and smaller, increasing its light, and came down to Dine's hands.

I am Dene, the Great Spirit of Water. If you wish to make a contract with me, then take this sphere of water and place it on your heart.

Dine speaks with a dignified expression. She is a stunningly beautiful woman. What a waste.

I couldn't tell with Sylphy because of the wind, but when water is condensed like that, it's really scary. Can water be made smaller? It's a scientifically impossible phenomenon ...... It's a fantasy world, isn't it? It's magic.

Take the beads of water in Deanne's hands and press them against her heart. Just like with the wind ball, the polka dots unravel and are sucked into my body.

The deal is done.

At the same time as Dine's dignified declaration, the water that had been flying around burst out and fell like rain.

"Hmmm.... The contract is done. Yuta and your sister are now partners. Take good care of them.

Deanne says with a fluffy smile. Is it just me or does ...... feel different?
