139 - - Episode 137 Talks with the Great Spirits

I sent Sarah and the others off for training, and I looked around the base while tending to it. I put Sarah and Belle to bed and went to talk to Sylphy and the others.

"Hey guys, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"What, a drink? Sis, I'm in the mood for rosé today."

What makes you say that?

"Deanne, you said I wanted to talk to you. I don't have any booze."

"What?"

Why are you so disappointed? We just emptied two barrels yesterday. Sylphy, Nomos and Dory are disappointed too. I don't know if the spirits are heavy drinkers or if they just happen to be a bunch of spirits who love to drink ......, but the alcohol puts them in a good mood, so that helps me out.

"I want to discuss the future of this base. If we don't make some plans, it will be a mess with the sanctuary and all."

"Hmmm, that's true. It will be lonely without alcohol, but it would be good to make some decisions.

"That's true. Yuta is doing more and more things, and it will be easier to move around if we set a proper policy.

Nomos and Sylphy agreed. Dolly nodded her head and there seemed to be no problem. Deanne is up in the air, but she's just thinking about the drinks and will probably join us sooner or later. We move to a table and discuss over a cup of tea.

"First, let's talk about the sanctuary. What is it like so far? Is it likely to be designated?"

Before, I didn't care if it was designated a sanctuary or not. Because I can see and touch it, so it doesn't really matter.

But things changed a bit when I took Sarah and the others as my disciples. I want to take Huku, Uri, and Mame to see Sara and the others. Maybe Sara and the spirits will be very happy to see them. Belle and the others can play with Sara and the others.

"Well, as I said before, in this case there are no clear criteria since it's the first time to try. It depends on the mood of the spirit kings, so I don't know. They are interested, and I feel that they are ready to negotiate, but I can't say at this time."

It's hard not to have clear standards. If there were criteria, we could try to reach them, so we wouldn't be lost, but in the current situation, it is too vague and difficult. Well, it hasn't been that long since we last heard from them, and I don't think the policy of the spirit kings will change that quickly.

"Then, we have to continue to cultivate the land as before, thinking about how to improve the balance of nature and to make it more livable. What should we do now that we have about twenty unused blocks? I'm sure people will want to do a lot of things when it comes to the sanctuary, so why not leave some space?"

"Oh, it's enough for me to have a room if Yuta is going to build a mansion for me. Don't worry about me, you can do whatever you want. I'll enjoy watching you do it.

......I have a feeling that the construction of the mansion will be finalized before long. I'm sure I said that when I ordered the house, but I can't imagine what I'd ...... do with a mansion or ...... a mansion. Also, Sylphy, I'm pretty sure you're just trying to pass the time by looking at me.

"It's enough if I get a room too. Yuta-san will increase the number of forests and I'm sure there will be no problem if I keep working hard.

Dolly reassures me that everything will be okay. Well, it seems that the construction of the mansion has been decided in Dolly's mind.

"Yuta, my sister definitely wants a bar! And a room!"

Deanne suddenly joined the discussion and put in her request.

"Oh, that's a good idea. Yuta, I want a bar too.

"Yuta, I think a bar is a good idea too.

"Yes, of course we need a bar."

Sylphy and Dolly listened to Deane's story, and easily reversed their previous statement. Nomos joined them. If we build a tavern or something, the Great Spirit will be there. .......

"Even if they call it a bar, we can buy all the liquor we want, but there's no one to run the store, right?"

"There are plenty of spirits who would be willing to manage a bar even if they are not human. As long as you set up a store and prepare the liquor, there is no problem.

...... spirits will run the store? I can't imagine the situation here when it becomes a sanctuary. Well, if there are enough people to staff the store, then there should be no problem. We have money to spare, and we can make do with what we have. If possible, I would like to build not only a bar but also a dining room. When we get to the sanctuary, we can ask the spirits who are interested in cooking to introduce themselves to us.

"I want a cellar to store sake in the brewery. Make good sake!"

Nomos clenches his fist and declares passionately. Sylphy and the others cheer him on. I wonder how much sake they're going to make if they need a brewery. Well, wine and the spirits I'm going to teach need to be laid down, so we'll need a brewery anyway.

But I have an image that both a brewery and a cellar make sake. ...... Nomos is talking about a cellar that is purely a warehouse for storing sake, right?

"Uh, I'll leave that part up to Nomos. If you pick a place, we can use the whole block, or even a simple building. But don't you want a room?"

"I don't need it because I sleep in the cellar."

You're going to sleep surrounded by booze. I guess I'll end up drinking instead of sleeping. But I know what the spirits want. They're very thorough about only asking for things related to booze, except for their rooms.

Well, I'll at least furnish the cellar when you decide.

Sorry.

Now we just need to figure out what Belle and Sarah and the others might need. I'll listen to you if it's a definite sanctuary, but it's hard to get my hopes up if it's not designated as a sanctuary.

Kikka often asks me how Mame is doing and I am sure she wants to see and touch Mame herself. Sara and Marco both care about Fukuchan and Uri. I don't have the guts to say no to them when they don't specify.

Now that we have a room for Sara and the others, what about Bell and the others? I can't imagine him using the room by himself, but Tulu is a strong man, he might want his own room.

I think we should make a kind of children's room where we can all gather and ask Tulu if he needs a room. Well, I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself. We should work hard to get the sanctuary designated now, not after it is designated.

"Then we'll have enough space to build a mansion, a bar, a nomos brewery and a brewery, and then we'll see what else we can do."

It's strangely embarrassing to say I have a mansion. Even if I can manage the money, how to build a mansion is also a problem. It would be suicide for me to build a mansion by myself, and even if I get someone to build it for me, will they come here? ...... need to think about this as well.

"Is there anything Yuta would like to do?"

Sylphy asked me a question.

"Well, I would like to make a contract with the spirit of life, and I would like to increase the number of fish and plants in the canals and ponds, and to increase the number of creatures in the forests. I also want to do something about the beach house, but I think I'll concentrate on the fountain house.

It would be fine if we just make a contract with them to live in a comfortable place and summon them when we need them, but it would be more helpful if they live with us in the land of the dead and help us out in various ways.

It would be nice if we could modify the beach house and treat it like a vacation home, but that's something we'll have to wait until we're more settled.

"Spirit of life, we have forests, small animals, aquatic creatures, and insects ...... would that work?"

Oyo? I thought we'd need more of them, but can we go with what we have? Sylphy is saying it, but he's thinking about it, and it sounds like he's on the edge of his seat.

"Well, it would be safer to add a few more creatures. There is a possibility that he will force himself to live here. There's no big problem as it is now, so there's no need to give him a hard time.

"It's true that he is a spirit of life, but he doesn't take care of himself, so maybe it's better that way. Yuta, is there a problem with that?

It seems that they are not the type of people like Nomos who say "retest" but the type of people who put others before themselves. Dolly was fine with just sprouting plants, but do different spirits need different environments?

It would be awkward to give them a hard time when it's not an emergency, so I'd rather wait until I'm sure.

I was going to add more animals, so I'm fine with it when I'm sure. I was going to add more animals, so I'll be fine after I'm sure.

Yes, that's good enough. When that happens, I'll go get the Spirit of Life.

"Now that I have a contract with Sylphy and can move around, shouldn't I go with her?"

I don't think it's right to call on someone to help you when you can't move around, but it's not right to call on someone to help you when you can't move around. It would make sense to go with them to ask for help.

"We won't be able to make a decision without seeing this place anyway, so there's no need for that. I'll just go poof and come back poof."

Is that what you call it? I guess my senses and the spirits' senses are different, so it's safer to follow Sylphy's lead. It would be a problem if you bring up human and Japanese common sense.

"Okay, I'll ask you when the time comes.

Yes, I'll take care of it. So, what are we going to do, except catch animals? There's still plenty of space for more."

That's the thing, isn't it? There are all kinds of facilities we want, but it's tough in another world. The only thing I can think of that we can do now is to build more forests.

"Well, it seems that the balance of nature is important to be recognized as a sanctuary, so I think I'll grow some more forests. Dolly, can you manage more forest?"

"I'll be fine."

Dolly smiled and nodded at me, and I felt relieved.

Sylphy told me that a person in the Great Spirit class could manage even a large forest with ease. Even though it's the land of the dead, since Dine and Nomos are also here, there's no problem to turn all the places I've cultivated into forests, he said.

I wonder if it would be better for the environment to make the whole area into a forest, but it would be hard to live there. After discussing it, we decided to add four blocks of forest first and see how it goes.

I forgot to mention that I also want to build a camellia forest, so I will add another forest. And then we can build an orchard. We have more things we want to do than we thought. We will be busy for a while, so let's go to bed and prepare for tomorrow.

I'm going to be busy for a while.

A few days have passed since the meeting with Sylphy and the others, and I've been steadily working out what we came up with in the meeting with the help of everyone.

I thought about asking Dolly to do all the work, but I pushed my laziness to the back of my mind and we all planted seeds steadily, adding four regular forests, a camellia forest, and an orchard.

It seems that we have to build a mansion, so we left the blocks near the center open and placed the forests and orchards in the outer blocks. Now I can afford to build a mansion, even though there are not so many people living in it. I wonder how they came up with the idea of a mansion.

Observing Mohamofu Kingdom from a distance, it is now possible to see animals moving in rare occasions. But it seems that they are only out of the nest when they eat nuts or something. It seems that he has not lost his guard yet.

I was so worried that I asked Bell and the others to check on the animals, but they didn't seem to have any signs of weakness, which is a relief. I wonder how long it takes wild animals to get used to their new environment?

I have heard that even domestic cats are cautious for about a month after moving, so it may take some time. I can't wait to see the scene of balled-up rabbits rolling around.
